Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple, Simhachalam

Hi. I am aiming to make this a GA. As per my assessment, 40% of the work is done. History, religious practices, festivals and significance of the temple are yet to be written, which i shall hopefully complete by next Thursday. This is the version before i began the work and this is the latest one. I am very much tensed about the article's flow and wordings. Another similar GA attempt is at WP:GOCER. Vensatry has suggested your name, and your contributions made me feel you far worthy than my initial expectations. Would you like to comment on the progress of Simhachalam's article and provide feedback if any? ** Pavan Jandhyala ** 17:12, 18 May 2017 (UTC)

Thiruvadigai Temple

I don't understand why you copied unsourced material from Mahalingeswarar Temple, Thiruvidaimarudur although it's good you attributed it. Tourist websites aren't reliable sources and our articles aren't meant to be tourist guides, so the times and details of services don't belong there. You also seem to have copied material directly from at least one site. Doug Weller talk 10:33, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

User:Doug Weller There were some edit overlaps because of some parallel edits in other pages from my side - i have corrected them now.Ssriram mt (talk) 10:55, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

WikiProject Women in Red/The World Contest

Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:08, 4 October 2017 (UTC)

Brihadeeswarar Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram

Hello:

The copy edit that you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Brihadeeswarar Temple, Gangaikonda Cholapuram has been completed.

I wanted to point out that this sentence —"The Gangaikonda Cholapuram Temple is smaller than the Thanjavur Temple yet more refined."— appears in the lead but does not appear in the body of the text so that the claim the temple is more refined is not cited. As I'm sure you're aware, anything that appears in the lead is also supposed to appear somewhere in the body of the article. Also, as you're likely aware, the Wikipedia manual of style suggests that any non-English words appear in italics. This does not apply to proper names. I think I have been careful with this, but you might want to check to make sure that I have not made any mistakes.

"Gangaikonda Cholapuram" appeared in several places as one word. I changed it to two for consistency with the article's title.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Good luck with the GAN.

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Sarangapani temple, Kumbakonam into Andal. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:06, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

I see you set up this category. The word "Maadakkoil" does not appear in any of the articles in the category, or indeed anywhere in English Wikipedia. With some difficulty, I have found from google that it is a Tamil word for one of the three eyes to Shiva. user:Diannaa - the website is a copy from my original addition in Apatsahayesvarar Temple, Alangudi. Please note that worship practices are similar in all Shiva temples in South India. Also, note that all 276 temples in Padal petra stalam are revered in the same set of Saiva canonical works. Some of them have similar legends which are not explicitly called out in references. I am not sure it was you or other admin with whom i had the same discussion earlier.
