User Category for Discussion
editHi, I just wanted to know exactly why it's being considered for deletion. I think the people in the category have this userbox:
on their page. There are quite a few of them. Is it beacuse it is too polemical a category? Is it because it has been created and deemed too polemical and thus deleted before? Please, someone, enlighten me.
--Steven Weston 20:43, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'd be happy to enlighten you. On Wikipedia:User categories for discussion, we've been against two things most of all: categories that create a sense that all responsible users should be members of them, and categories which declare a negative preference and thus cannot be used for collaboration. This category does both: Everybody's supposed to be against vandalism, and no one using it is declaring a preference for anything except an absence of vandalism. That's why it's unanimous that it should be deleted, and why I'm in the process of doing so right now. That make sense? (Please note that the userbox will be untouched, it's just the category that's being deleted.)--Mike Selinker 22:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yes that's fine. I'll leave it alone hereafter. I guess I should have read Wikipedia:User categories for discussion...--Steven Weston 13:12, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Re:Personal attack
editI've left the anon another warning, let me know if they do it again and I will block them. In the future if this happens, you should leave warnings to them (different warnings can be found at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace) and if they ignore the warnings, report them at WP:AIV and an administrator will block them. Unhelpful changes?
editAre you confused? The edits I've made were getting rid of the line "A real model, about 2 1/2 feet (76 cm) in diameter, currently resides in my ass." from the Death Star article and a couple of other similar things. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.178.68.57 (talk) 20:34, 16 April 2007 (UTC).
- No, I did not put that comment. I tried to undo it from a previous person, somehow the undo malfunctioned, or something. Why would I do such a thing anyway? I attempt to fight vandalism.--Steven Weston 08:09, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Rugrats Characters page edit
editThat is actually true information about Drew Pickles check out the Barney Bunch website and look for his biography in it
- This is an encyclopaedia, your comments were not acceptable for an encyclopaedic article. I don't even think that they would be acceptable on an Uncyclopedic article.--Steven Weston 15:03, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
No point warning schools
editI noticed you warned a user recently for vandalism. Sadly, this isn't really worth the trouble in the case of school IPs. Maury 12:00, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- I know, but I do it anyway.--Steven Weston 12:59, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
editHello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:13, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

The file File:Squareani2.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
