Adnan Ahmed
editWell done for your continued contributions to this article. Do you have any contacts with Ahmed who could take and upload a photograph, please? BlueValour 17:41, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Well I can ask someone who keeps contacts with all Pakistani-origin players overtime, and I will ask him if he can get some pictures for not just Adnan Ahmed but for Zesh Rehman as well. The previous image I used for Zesh was deemed unacceptable and rightly so (took it from Skysports website hehehe). Suprah™ 21:02, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Pakistan Football
editHi, I wanted to say thanks. I thought with so many people now using Wikipedia to find infomation, I should add a few things that I know about Pakistani sport. Nabs 18:04, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Template: Football in Pakistan
editI noticed the template change. There is a problem as it is difficult to read the Football in Pakistan title/link, and it would be a problem for people who are colour blind. Maybe it would be best to return it to it's original colour. The flags and the Competitions in Pakistani football part are fine. Nabs 16:13, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Okay then that's fine. And I'll think about making a userpage. Nabs 10:25, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Blackpool F.C.
editFurther to your edit on the Blackpool F.C. article in which you changed the kit colours, I have had to revert your edit. Blackpools home kit, I can assure you, is tangerine shirts and white shorts. They do not wear tangerine shorts in the home kit. In addition the away kit can be anything from the kit you added as the home kit (ie tangerine shirts, shorts and socks) which they used last week away at Macclesfield (I know because I went to the match), to the all white (with tangerine) kit as used at Norwich yesterday and the white shirts, tangerine shorts kit as on the article. Thank you. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 17:17, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your message, nope that picture is from the Macclesfield away game and was therefore it's the away kit for that particular match. The photo gallery on the official site, from which that appears is also from that game, and the other gallery on the official site is from the pre-season friendly at Tranmere Rovers where the same away kit was also used. All told BFC probably have about 4 away kits taking into account the variations! And they were supposed to be unveling yet another new third kit but problems with the sponsors who have gone into liquidation have stopped that! Zesh certainly seemed to impress yesterday and might if the player he replaced is unfit, start the match next Saturday. Thanks and have fun. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 18:33, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

FootballPakistan article
editAdmin had asked me to write and wikipedia page for Footballpaksitan. When I did, someone deleted it within hours stating rule A7: An article about a real person, an organization (e.g. band, club, company, etc., except schools), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability. This criterion applies only to articles about web content and to articles about people and organizations themselves, not to articles about their books, albums, software and so on. The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source. If the claim's credibility is unclear, you can improve the article yourself, propose deletion, or list the article at articles for deletion. I have made a copy of it on my user page so you can see it. I’m not sure if there is a way to make it suitable. Nabs (talk) 12:32, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Suprah! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 193 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon
editHi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
editHi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:04, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Hey, hope you are doing well. I just realised you are Ali Ahsan from Footballpakistan.com, and I couldn't miss the chance to express my deep admiration for your significant contributions and advocacy for Football in Pakistan over the years. Your dedication has not only been instrumental in shaping the sport in the country but has also inspired many, including myself, to actively engage in contributing and learning about it. The scarcity of information and updates surrounding football in Pakistan makes your efforts even more crucial. I also appreciate your contributions on Wikipedia, specially as there have been a lack of contributors in this topic here. I sincerely hope you'll continue your remarkable work and the positive impact you continue to make. Cheers! Throwawayjamal047 (talk) 15:16, 2 April 2024 (UTC) |
- My tremendous thanks and gratitude. We are all doing what we can to make Pakistani football talked about and taken seriously more year by year. Its been a long, mostly isolated, process but the interest among a new generation of young kids in Pakistan taken up the mantle of the sport at home is tremendous. May this continue and may we all get to see Pakistan become a more respected member of the global football fraternity in the coming years! Suprah (talk) 15:58, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
Images review
editHi Suprah :), hope you are doing well. I was just trying to compile the maximum amount of pictures of the Pakistan national team in public domain to upload here and expand historic articles. They can be accessed here in Wikimedia Commons.
Sadly as expected, many of them lack the exact context. For example after my research, I have concluded that this picture of Abdul Ghafoor along with Parviz Ghelichkani (I think) pertains to the 1974 Asian Games, although I am still not 100% sure about it.
Or if this picture again of Abdul Ghafoor pertains to China visit to Pakistan in 1963, or Pakistan's visit to China in 1964, although in this Footballpakistan.com article it says it is the latter. Another picture I found from "Wengerullah" twitter account saying it was when Pakistan visited China in 1963, but as it was the other way around I uploaded it as belonging to the next year as Abid Ghazi who is holding the flag was the captain in 1964 (List of Pakistan national football team captains).
Could you please review them and let me know if there are any inconsistencies. Also if possible could you please let me know if you have information about the names of the players in the following pictures to state the players in the description as I have tried doing for the rest of the pics I have uploaded:
I would be very pleased. Again, thank you very much and hope you have a good day. Throwawayjamal047 (talk) 13:56, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
