Please do not add or change content, as you did at Jesse Lingard, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Content not supported by source. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:45, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
Robert Street (footballer) moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Robert Street (footballer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). The player has not yet made his first appearance either starting 11 or as a sub that played and so doesn't yet meet our notability guides (see WP:NFOOTBALL - I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Ross Tierney
When a page is moved to draft space by community decisions such as a AfD that decision should not be overturned unilaterally by moving the page into back into the main space. If you think the situation has changed enough to warrant overturning the previous decision, please submit the draft to WP:AfC. I should also point out that the relevant notability guideline, namely WP:NFOOTY, requires a footballer to have played (i.e. appeared in a match) in a fully professional league. Something Tierney is yet to do. Sir Sputnik (talk) 01:58, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Question about Ring (programming language)
Hi. I note you've removed the draft tag from this page with this edit. [1], when the most recent comment I can find was "This was deleted at AfD in July 2019. While more sources have materialized since then, it doesn't appear to be enough to reverse the AfD consensus. See talk page for more details and discussion." Can you please clear this up for me. Thanks. peterl (talk) 09:59, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- Peterl, elaborate on what you mean by "clear this up for me." ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 15:58, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
- That is, why was the phrase ""This was deleted at AfD in July 2019. While more sources have materialized since then, it doesn't appear to be enough to reverse the AfD consensus. See talk page for more details and discussion." removed, and the page moved out of draft and accepted for creation, when there was no discussion and no consensus? peterl (talk) 23:51, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
- I don't believe that accepting an AfC submission requires a discussion, as the purpose of an AfC submission is to hope a reviewer comes by the page and deems the article good enough by Wikipedia's standards. You can start a deletion discussion if you think the article should have stayed as a draft. I will gladly accept any constructive criticism that comes my way. You can also contact the article's creator or anyone that has worked on it if you want to see any improvements made. ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 01:06, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- As you are a brand new AfC reviewer I suggest you start with the easiest reviews which are clear-cut declines or obvious accepts, and leave drafts that are borderline or like this one have already been subject to debate through AfD and on the talk page to more experienced reviewers until you've built up your experience. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:35, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

I have reviewed your decision on this and reversed it.--Grahame (talk) 01:13, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Grahame, may I ask why? ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 13:54, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- It is an article by a well respected contributor who has the right to create his own articles (I'm not sure why he uses this process at all). It is about a clearly notable matter and the most appropriate place to dispute this is at AfD.--Grahame (talk) 01:17, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- @ArsenalGhanaPartey: You'd declined it as "submission is about a person not yet shown to meet notability guidelines". Can you explain a bit about your thought process? Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:39, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
I noticed you declined this draft, mostly owing to the "Fictional character biography" section, and I agree that it's way too long and detailed with plot summary, and also lacks sources or attributions to Fandom or other wikis. If we shorten that significantly and add more sources to the character's development, would that be enough to change your mind? I'm sure there are plenty of sources on Peacemaker's development, and the decision to make the character bisexual (and the manner in which it was done) is noteworthy, as this is a deviation from the comics.
I'll also let the other user know about this. Thanks, --WuTang94 (talk) 04:35, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- If enough improvements are made, I may be obliged to accept it, or another reviewer before me. ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 13:59, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Draft page: Swiss Data Science Center (SDSC)
Hello, I saw your rejection of the draft page of the Swiss Data Science Center. It is true that I have a conflict of interest and I declared it. I would like to say that the Center is a non-profit research institute created by the most reputable technology schools in Switzerland and entirely funded by the Swiss Confederation (it is well documented by reliable outside sources as noted in my references). As such, the center does not do, nor does it need to do advertisement. I would kindly like you to reconsider your rejection. On my side, I will work on the draft again and make it sound more neutral (although we are Swiss, so neutrality is our specialty ;-) Thanks. Sdups (talk) 16:17, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- I'm glad you are working on improving those articles. Please read WP:ARTSPAM and WP:NPOV. ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 16:48, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
When reviewing drafts at AfC, copyvio should be your first check
Hi. I saw that you've recently become an AfC reviewer and you're in a probationary period. I came across your acceptance of Building blocks (toy). There was a message from another reviewer that indicated there was a copyright violation within the draft. Did you spot that? We shouldn't accept an article if it includes text that is clearly copied from somewhere else unless the source is licenced appropriately. If you do accept an article that has a small amount of copyright material in it, you should deal with that rather than leave it in the article. Please take another look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions#Step 1: Quick-fail criteria. Since you've accepted the article this is an opportunity to practice your copyvio cleanup skills! Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:25, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- I will do that, thanks for letting me know. ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 16:49, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- You're not done yet. Please go back to Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Reviewing instructions#Step 1: Quick-fail criteria and this time expand the pale yellow box that says "Copyright cleanup instructions". You need to follow those steps, otherwise the copyright material remains in the article's history. Let me know when you're done and I'll check. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 17:18, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
- @ArsenalGhanaPartey: don't forget to finish this. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 09:36, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

When you must use inline citations
You'd declined Draft:Mabrur Rashid Bannah. While decline was the right decision, the reason you gave was "the content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations". Please take another look at WP:MINREF so you are clear on what those minimum standards are. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:49, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
Similarly, in your review of Draft:Jan Turovski you declined on the basis that "this submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources" but the author had already included 27 inline references, so they clearly know what a reference is. There are some statements in the draft that should have a citation, such as each of the literary awards that the draft says he won, so it would be better to tag those specific statements with {{cn}} which would make it clear to the author what they need to address for the draft to be accepted. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:56, 25 February 2022 (UTC)
Request on 08:27:22, 28 February 2022 for assistance on AfC submission by OllyGreen
Hi,
Just wondering how else I may be able to get this draft published. I understand that some of the sources do not cover him at length, but I can't see how it means he does not qualify for a Wikipedia page. I've noted that there are individuals with far less coverage that do in fact have Wikipedia pages, so I was wondering if there is another way I can get this published. For example, would altering the body text to match the sources provided increase the chances of it getting approved? Or is there another way to get the post up without the need for several, in-depth articles solely on him?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
WikiCup 2022 March newsletter
And so ends the first round of the WikiCup. Last year anyone who scored more than zero points moved on to Round 2, but this was not the case this year, and a score of 13 or more was required to proceed. The top scorers in Round 1 were:
- Epicgenius, a finalist last year, who led the field with 1906 points, gained from 32 GAs and 19 DYKs, all on the topic of New York buildings.
- AryKun, new to the contest, was second with 1588 points, having achieved 2 FAs, 11 GAs and various other submissions, mostly on the subject of birds.
- Bloom6132, a WikiCup veteran, was in third place with 682 points, garnered from 51 In the news items and several DYKs.
- GhostRiver was close behind with 679 points, gained from achieving 12 GAs, mostly on ice hockey players, and 35 GARs.
- Kavyansh.Singh was in fifth place with 551 points, with an FA, a FL, and many reviews.
- SounderBruce was next with 454 points, gained from an FA and various other submissions, mostly on United States highways.
- Ktin, another WikiCup veteran, was in seventh place with 412 points, mostly gained from In the news items.
These contestants, like all the others who qualified for Round 2, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews of a large number of good articles as the contest ran concurrently with a GAN backlog drive. Well done all! To qualify for Round 3, contestants will need to finish Round 2 among the top thirty-two participants.
Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Anything that should have been claimed for in Round 1 is no longer eligible for points. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.
Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
