Can u advise us on how to get the page published?
- No I cannot, you are being paid, whilst I am a volunteer, try some research into company notability. Theroadislong (talk) 09:31, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi Theroadislong,
Unfortunatory, limited to Japanese sources. I added three independent sources. Among them, one is from Japanese Wikipedia. I know it's not usually understood "unliliable," but the articles note is remarkable to show Takahashi's notablity in Japanese social work. Therefore I forced to put it as an independent source. Thank you very much for your review.
Best regards, IyataYada
- Japanese sources are fine, but Wikipedia can absolutely NOT be used as a source. Theroadislong (talk) 16:45, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
Draft:Knowable Magazine
It seems like we have reviewed at the same time. Would you like me to revert the move? – robertsky (talk) 17:05, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Draft:KOKOKO!
Hello Theroadislong, I've made some changes to my draft and I would like to ask if it now falls under NBAND. I'd say non-trivial articles on the subject of the article from NPR, Billboard, Radio France Internationale, and Time Magazine count to pass NBAND. Thank you, Roniiustalk to me 17:50, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
AfC Drive
Hello Theroadislong:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to eliminate the backlog of unreviewed articles. The drive is running until 31 July 2021.
Awards will be given out for all reviewers participating in the drive in the form of barnstars at the end of the drive.
- Just sending this cause I noticed you weren't signed up on the drive page. Curbon7 (talk) 23:19, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
- thanks for that, I guess the hundred or so I did in the last few days don't count! Theroadislong (talk) 07:32, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
- "Reviews only count after you sign up using the button above. Exception: because the drive pages were created late, if you sign up in the first week of the drive, all of your reviews since 8:00 pm, 30 June 2021, last Wednesday (6 days ago) (UTC−4) will count." From the drive page.
- I think this means the reviews you've done so far count. Curbon7 (talk) 19:27, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Jacqueline Bishop (artist) page
Thank you for approving the article.
There are actually TWO Jacqueline Bishops now on Wiki: both are artists, while one is an artist and a writer. I'm wondering if both could be just
"Jacqueline Bishop" (NO "artist" after the name)
and that there could be a DISAMBIGUITY page so the user can select which one they want.
I'm also working on a couple of DRAFT entries; I have one up for approval--another New Orleans person. Can you take a look: Draft:HowardPhilipsSmith. Also working on Draft:Henri Schindler but not ready yet for review. Need to clean up some others. I was sick and could not get to them.

Question
Could you explain to me how Draft:The Titan Spectator is not notable? I have provided 5 secondary, significant, independent and reliable sources. [1][2][3][4][5] These articles are not trivial mentions. I think this coverage meets the guidelines of WP:ORGDEPTH. I guess i'm just curious what more editors here expect to meet this?

- Looking at the draft as a whole [1]is written by you so is not independent, Instagram is not a reliable source at all, neither are press releases we need more than merely local coverage and as you have a clear conflict of interest your draft will be very closely scrutinised. - It seems that you moved it to main space here The Titan Spectator bypassing the afc process so it has now been nominated for deletion. Theroadislong (talk) 08:02, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Are you reviewing my Dr. Elizabeth "Betty" Hayes article?
I see that you've at least opened my article, which I stupidly titled "Dr. Ellizabeth 'Betty' Hayes" (two Ls in Elizabeth) as I submitted it to Articles for Creation. Some questions:
a) Do you plan to review it soon? I was alarmed after I pressed the submit button and saw that wait times are as much as four months. Also, I just noticed that when my first article was approved four years ago, Wiki wrote me indicating that I don't have to submit further articles to Articles for Creation. Since you've probably got lots on your plate already—I see the tremendous number of articles you've reviewed—would you consider sending it back to me and telling me how to post it without review? Of course, I'd love to have your feedback, but if it's not necessary, I'm wasting your valuable time.
b) Also I need to know how to fix the name of the page, which I suppose should be just Dr. Elizabeth Hayes (one l, no "Betty") to match my text. I'd appreciate your thoughts on that unless you think I should post my question on the help page.
c) I have a photo, which I believe is now free. (It's a high-res scan from a 75-year-old magazine named Salute, which changed hands decades ago. The current publisher of Salute said his company does not hold the copyright for anything published in a 1946 issue.) I need to make my case that it's copyright-free. Should I ask the help people about this?
A beer for you!
I'm sending you a beer (because wine wasn't an option) to thank you for approving my article for submission! Best wishes from Brooklyn, New York, and I appreciate all that you do for Wikipedia. Busypencil (talk) 18:37, 8 July 2021 (UTC) |

Hey! How are you doing? I just wanted to drop a message to get a few insights in regards to the draft on Oghalé. I came across the draft while editing other articles this morning. I saw that Oghalé had specified the conflict of interest so I decided to take a look. I was able to verify the sources and that they were credible. The National Portrait Gallery is a prestigious honour here in the UK. I checked for all the things that were listed as potential issues and addressed them. One of the most recent comments for the draft being declined mentioned that two of the sources were written by Oghalé himself. But I opened those sources and one of the states that it is written by the Editorial Director of the magazine Stephanie Wade. The other is directly from the National Portrait Gallery website and was written by Exhibition Director, Andy Horn. The tone of the writing in the draft is consistent with not only the other articles that are published here on Wikipedia, but also matches the tone of what is written in the articles. Here is an example (Nadine Ijewere). That article which is published in a similar fashion has even fewer sources.
I do not mean to come off as rude and I hope I have not done so priorly. I just wanted to ask you some of these questions and see if I could get your insight and perhaps re-review of the draft.
Thank you for your time!

Hi — I was just looking at the Draft:Www.norton.com/setup in AfC, trying to figure out whether I need to reject it first or if I can request speedy without doing so. Then I saw that you rejected it already. Can I ask, is that enough to get it deleted, or does it need to go through some sort of deletion process also? (Sorry if this is silly noob question.) Thanks for your comment! Actually, the content in the section titled "Main components" was retrieved from the 4th reference, which I cited in the picture's caption. I noticed that when I added the reference which has already existed, the draft still displays the reference as a new one. Therefore, I did not add any new references. I'm not used to Wikipedia editing. Could you please guide me on how to improve the paper?
Thank you!
Haessle Draft Discussion
Hello!
Thanks for taking the time to look at the draft and reviewing it. I was just curious as to what more could be done to get the draft approved. I could debate that he goes under the following:
"1. The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors."
He is recognized by his peers Arman and Venet in the draft and is recognized by art critics I mentioned as well and known in multiple countries which I believe is enough. I have seen other artists on wikipedia who have less references but somehow end up getting approved so I'm just a little confused. Thank you again for any feedback. I have resubmitted my article for Andre Gaines. Kindly view it and let me know if any changes are required. I also want to share that I certainly by mistake clicked on this user article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:ImanSalvador/sandbox and submitted it by mistake and now it is coming in my contribution. I was just searching for help in Live chat and suddenly saw this article link was shared by someone. Once I clicked on it I went on submitting this article I thought it was for Andre Gaines and submitted it.
The only article which I want to publish is "Andre Gaines"

Hello
Replying kindly for Wikipedia page Roman Perez- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Perez
I represent Mr. Perez, and have been working on his article page here on Wikipedia for 1-2 years now.
I received the notification that all of the hard work put into this might finally go to waste.
You accepted his page and now are asking for it to be deleted.
Roman is a public figure. He is verified on social media, and has all the credentials to be here on Wikipedia.
The guidelines for Notability sports person specifically says- American Basketball Association which is the ABA. Perez has played with 3 teams (bronx holy flames, team innovation and the harlem underdogs from 2013-19. Unfortunately those franchises have folded so their websites are not up for me to add on Wikipedia.
He also entered the nba draft in 2009 https://www.eurobasket.com/player/Roman-Perez/APBL/New-York-Black-Eagles/187107
Please take into consideration that he is notable. He has many articles on google and deserves a chance to be here.
I really appreciate your time and effort.
Regardless of the outcome,
Thank You,

Unacceptable draft becomes instant article
Draft:Gopinath Ravi was multiply declined and a discussion took place with the creator here, whereupon, this morning, they pasted the draft material into an eponymous article, which awaits review. Given this history, I'd like to try a speedy deletion. I've never done this before, and am not sure whether lack of notability is a sufficient criterion for speedying. Would PROD be more appropriate? What do you recommend here?--Quisqualis (talk) 02:28, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
- Re Gopinath Ravi The next step would be to take it to WP:AFD. It has an assertion of notability so speedy would be declined. Theroadislong (talk) 07:12, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
Afripedia and Afripedia Project are different topics
Hi Theroadislong,
Thanks so much for looking into the draft article I've submitted; Afripedia.
You have rejected the draft article and suggested I merge it with an already existing article: Afripedia Project. However, the subject of the article Afripedia I submitted and the already existing article Afripedia Project are not the same.
The already existing article Afripedia Project is an initiative organised by Wikimédia France, Institut Français, and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie and "aims to expand offline Wikipedia access in French-speaking Africa, and encourage Africans to contribute to Wikipedia".
The Afripedia article I have suggested is a completely other initiative, a documentary series, as well as a platform that aims to bridge the gap of employment of diverse talents in creative industries across the globe. It is also run by different people and it is an active project, 2010-now, unlike the Afripedia Project.
Please see this discussion page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Afripedia_Project
To clarify this ambiguousness, I have inserted the form indicating that the page should not be confused with Afripedia project.
I have resubmitted the article, please see if that solves the issue raised.
Many thanks,
User YNovakovic
- I have removed my decline and comment, the draft itself appears to be about two separate topics which is also confusing! Theroadislong (talk) 08:47, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Mithila University
Mithila University was ancient educational institution in India. It is mentioned in the below link. Importance of the history of this ancient university is same as Nalanda, Vikramshila and Takshashila. But exact article 'Mithila University' has been yet not created in Wikipedia. The link, I am sharing now is government document. Please go through the link and help in publishing it as main article. https://state.bihar.gov.in/lrc/Content.html?links&page=Darbhanga Sntshkumar750 (talk) 15:27, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- The link merely confirms that the university exists, but Wikipedia requires there to be in-depth coverage of the institution in independent reliable sources, and that is what we base articles on. Please also read other stuff exists. Theroadislong (talk) 15:30, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- My JSTOR doesn't have access to that article so I can't see what can be salvaged. But Sntshkumar750, here is the thing--your draft is faulty in a whole kind of ways. PLEASE go see what accepted articles on universities look like and emulate that. And some of it is very basic. What does "Notable texts" mean? And why don't you mention what time period and geographical area we're talking about? Drmies (talk) 17:03, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Nor does mine, Drmies; but under the blue notice that tells me that there's another red one that says "Read online: 100 articles remaining this month", so I did. The crucial sentence is on page 163, and reads ""the whole of Mithila converted into a great university, where the pupils from all over north-eastern India began to come and acquire knowledge". I can see no way of reading that other than as a metaphor (well, OK, a metaphor with a generous dressing of hyperbole). It relates to early mediaeval times, btw – Adi Shankara is mentioned in the previous sentence. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:59, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
Regarding Draft page on Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing at IISc
Hi Theroadislong,
I tried to improve the sources present in the draft page "Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing". Regarding the comment promotional: I think it is now less promotional and better cited than the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Research_Laboratory_of_Electronics_at_MIT
I do want to change the name of this page to "Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing at IISc"
Like to get your thought.
Thanks.
- Can't see much improvement, the "Vision and Mission" is of zero interest to Wikipedia and is entirely promotional. AS for Research Laboratory of Electronics at MIT that is also entirely promotional and unsourced and I have tagged it for speedy deletion. Theroadislong (talk) 08:28, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Research Laboratory of Electronics at MIT
I have just accepted your speedy deletion nomination. It's mind boggling that the article has persisted in such blatantly promotional form for almost 14 years without anyone doing anything about it. Also, for over eight years it has been tagged as promotional, which is, I think, a fairly good illustration of how much good those tags achieve. JBW (talk) 09:23, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yes it was rather surprising and of course other users then use it as an example to create other promotional unsourced content! Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 09:53, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi.
Could you please clarify/elaborate which minimum requirements for inline citations are not met?
The article contains no direct quotations, no challenged statements or statements tagged with "need citation", no statements that are likely to be challenged, and no contentious material.
Nevertheless, article already contains 19 inline citations from 7 sources.
Finally, the article is a English language version (direct translation) of already existing foreign language Wikipedia page.
Could you please clarify which statements need citations or which citation requirements are not satisfied.
Thank you in advance.
- Well, for example there are eleven awards which have no source, all substantive facts require a citation. Theroadislong (talk) 17:45, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Draft:Adolf Shapiro
Hmmm... here is today's wikipedia featured article - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._J._Palacio
It has awards without inline citations (in the Awards and Honors section) as well as Bibliography section without inline citations on any of the books, as well as other substantive facts without citation.
more importantly however none of these are included in wikipedia's "minimum standard for inline citations" which you cite. Nothing in here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Inline_citation#When_you_must_use_inline_citations says "all substantive facts".— Preceding unsigned comment added by Uzik01 (talk • contribs)
- (talk page stalker) that was the picture of the day, not the featured article. Link. --- Possibly ☎ 18:26, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- WP:BLP states “any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source using an inline citation; material not meeting this standard may be removed.” and other poor quality articles exist is not a good argument. Your draft had 11 awards with no sources, R. J. Palacio has only one unsourced award. Theroadislong (talk) 19:07, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Draft:Adolf Shapiro
That sounds fair, if any of these awards are challenged - you may remove them.
The existence of"poor quality" articles is a good argument that articles aren't supposed to be perfect, articles merely need to meet minimum requirements.
I will take your suggestions for article improvement under consideration, but in the meantime please cite direct violation of Wikipedia minimum requirements. Preferably, as a challenger, with corresponding burden of proof.
- No, the existence of poor quality articles is because in the past Wikipedia was less strict about the quality and we haven't got around to improving them all or deleting them where required, please don't start a new thread for each reply and remember to sign your posts with 4 tildes. Theroadislong (talk) 20:24, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Draft:Adolf Shapiro
Sorry, no idea how to continue existing thread.
In the meantime, if existence of "poor quality" articles is indeed a matter of oversight, please cite a your source. Again demonstrating clear violation of Wikipedia's minimum standards for inline citation would be acceptable.
In the mean time I am challenging your statement citing the above mentioned Wikipedia policies as proof ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Inline_citation#When_you_must_use_inline_citations ). Article that satisfy minimum Wikipedia requirements are not disqualified for poor quality, in fact quality does not seem to be mentioned in the minimum requirements.

- Why don't you simply provide the sources for the awards. Theroadislong (talk) 20:49, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
I am simply a translator for this article. I did pass your suggestions to the authors of the original article. I suspect though this because to the Russian speaking audience these awards ARE the references, or if you prefer - these are self-referenced. "Laureate of the International Stanislavsky Prize" isn't just an award - it's an offline reference as well. More importantly though because the idea isn't to create a perfect article, not even replicate/translate existing one. The idea is to create an article and improve it based on feedback and challenges of people actually familiar with Shapiro's work. Uzik01 (talk) 21:49, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
Omari Salisbury
We must have been reviewing Omari Salisbury at the same time. I was about to accept the article when I noticed you'd declined it, so hope you don't mind the revert. There was also a big article in The Seattle Times' last month, which swung me in favour of accepting he had an enduring notability. Sionk (talk) 19:30, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for taking a look!
Hi there. Thank you for your review of Deepstash. I did my best to write it as non-commercial and from as much of a neutral point of view as possible (just facts and neutral descriptions).
Can you please help with some advice/direction on rewriting it? What section is the worst offender, or what should I focus on? Would be highly appreciated. CristianM (talk) 14:07, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry no, you are being paid to edit I am a volunteer, I suggest you spend a few months familiarising yourself with how Wikipedia works before charging for your "expertise". Theroadislong (talk) 14:21, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- I understand. Just wanted to state that I am not being paid to edit, but am the founder. I didn't hire anyone to write this. That's why I declared my conflict of interest and wanted someone else to have a look, since almost always, if you're involved, you can't have a NPOV. I changed the page and left details in the edit summary. Was wondering if you can take another look? CristianM (talk) 04:31, 15 July 2021 (UTC)

Do we require more citation/source material? Or is the issue the COI?
Thanks,

The Death of Henry Jemmott
Thanks for your rejection! It's a super-useful lesson. I will have another go, but I can see why I didn't make the notability clearer and my references were poorly inserted. I also see that my sources need to do more than simply suggest a news story. I'm sorry I didn't reply to you earlier - I didn't actually realise I could! best SteveCree13

Steve Volk notability
I think his writing experience with major publishers makes him qualified for a Wiki page.
- No it doesn't I'm afraid... a topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Theroadislong (talk) 20:52, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
Draft page in sandbox
Hi Theroadislong, I've been working on a new page but instead of going via AFC I thought I'd first create it in my sandbox. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MaskedSinger/sandbox Do you mind taking a look at it and letting me know if it's good to go. Thank you kind sir. MaskedSinger (talk) 14:09, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
- Wondering if you saw it because you didn't reply. If you deliberately ignored it, is there a reason why? Should I approach a different editor about this? Only asked you as you seem to be the top editor when it comes to approving new pages. MaskedSinger (talk) 04:09, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- My focus is on WP:AFC but a quick look at your sandbox shows a rather promotional piece, and content like "His style icons include Steve McQueen, Fred Astaire, Humphrey Bogart, Gianni Agnelli, and Robert Redford in the Great Gatsby" doesn't belong in an encyclopedia, are you being paid to edit by any chance? Theroadislong (talk) 07:03, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Not being paid to edit at all. Saw an article about him and was surprised there wasn't a page about him already. I'm glad I ran the page by you as it probably would have been rejected. I don't mean for it to be promotional at all. If the language needs to be toned down, I will do so. As for the bit about style icons, I thought it relevant given that's his field - no different to saying which artists influence and inspire a current one. Anyhow in terms of notability, do you think he's notable enough for a page? If so, I will work on toning down the language. Thanks for your help. MaskedSinger (talk) 15:54, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- There seems to be a reasonable amount of coverage of him so he likely passes WP:GNG. Theroadislong (talk) 16:20, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Ok great. I will take another pass. Thank you MaskedSinger (talk) 16:25, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- I updated it, deleted some stuff and toned down the language. I have to be honest - I was premature in contacting you. It wasn't ready as a draft. There was way too much fluff there and you were 100% right to call me to task for it. If someone asked me to look at their draft for a new page and it was this one, I can't imagine I would have been as understanding as you were. Anyhow, language such as Best Dressed, Most Powerful, is still there because this is what he was named and these help establish his notability. If you think it's ready, I should create it as an AFC? Thank you. MaskedSinger (talk) 09:34, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

My Wiki
Hi Thereoadislong,
I hope you are well.
Thank you so much for accepting my submission! Just wondering, are there any quick tips you can please give me to improve the grade of the page? That would be great. Thank you again!!
Best wishes,
Will
- Forgive me for being pedantic but it is an article not a wiki. You could add categories which would help people find it, you might also want to change your user name, they are not intended to be used for commercial purposes. Theroadislong (talk) 13:28, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Projectivity (psyschological trait)
Hi, Thereoadislong.
Your criticism of the article is that it only contains one source. However, would that mean that a huge portion of all Wikipeida articles, including respected ones, are in need of deletion? (Example: The Thief's Journal). Considering the size of the Wikipedia article, and the fact that it's still being edited, it seems like one source is all that is necessary for the meantime.
- Yes, clearly lots of articles slip through the net like The Thief's Journal) which would not pass WP:AFC now, your draft appears to draw on personal knowledge whereas it should report on what a variety of reliable sources have said about the topic. Theroadislong (talk) 13:37, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Why would you say investopedia “is not a reliable source” especially for the subject matter that was on my page. I do not believe this is a valid reason to reject an article.
I hit edit and saw your thanks. I am too slow. :) - hako9 (talk) 07:20, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Masterwork#Your_submission_at_Articles_for_creation%3A_sandbox_%28July_16%29 Propose new entry on KARL FIORINI. This entry, including the latest revision, has been repeatedly rejected. I am at a loss to explain why. The stock rejection - "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article" - is frankly unacceptable. The facts about this person are brief and to the point, supported by references and bibliography. They speak for themselves: highly trained, long experienced, with a solid track record of performances, publications and recordings. Plus fifteen years working as a respected Artistic Director. I am familiar with several other entries pertaining to Maltese-born or Malta-based artists, whose merits are demonstrably less than Dr Fiorini's, as well as essentially locally focused rather than international. How can Karl Fiorini fail to qualify? No reasons are given. After over a year - with Wiki's critical reservations taken on board and implemented - I feel this matter of refusal now needs to be examined seriously, and if necessary taken to a higher level. Draft:Joseph Ribas (French author)
Hello,
I see that, in declining to accept the draft article "Draft:Joseph Ribas (French author)", you say that the submission's references "do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject".
Could you kindly confirm that, in reaching that decision, you took into account the "Note on sources" which I posted earlier at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft_talk:Joseph_Ribas_(French_author)#Note_on_sources?
Alan Mattingly (talk) 17:38, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, you have two independent sources, I think it's usually advised that three is the minimum. Theroadislong (talk) 18:04, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll hunt for some more independent sources. Meanwhile, can I take it that the fact that there are already articles on the same subject in French and Catalan doesn't count for much? (The French one in particular has much the same content and references as the draft English article.) Alan Mattingly (talk) 16:12, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Alan Mattingly Yes other countries Wikipedia have quite different inclusion criteria, so is not really an advantage. Theroadislong (talk) 18:27, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks again. I'm redrafting the article, mainly by adding further references of the kind required. I'll resubmit the draft for assessment when it's ready.
- With regard to your statement that "other countries Wikipedia have quite different inclusion criteria", I have a question on that, but I'll post that question separately below, as it is a different subject. Alan Mattingly (talk) 12:54, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Variability of inclusion criteria according to language
On 15 July 2021, you wrote (above, in 'Draft: Joseph Ribas (French author)'): "other countries Wikipedia have quite different inclusion criteria".
It seems surprising that the criteria for publication of Wikipedia articles can vary according to the language in which they are written. This appears to mean that users of Wikipedia in one language may be viewing articles which are of a quality inferior to that of corresponding articles in other languages.
Yet Wikipedia is obviously a global "brand". All articles, regardless of language, seem to have a common format and appearance, a common (globe-like) logo, and a common domain name (wikipedia.org). Users might therefore be forgiven for thinking that all articles, regardless of language, are included on the basis of common, global criteria.
I don't underestimate the scale of difficulty in securing agreement on, and then enforcing, a common, global set of inclusion criteria. But shouldn't the adoption of global criteria at least be an aim? Perhaps it is. But I've searched, and I haven't yet found a statement to that effect.
(None of the above is meant to imply criticism of the criteria that are used for inclusion of Wikipedia articles in English.)

Hey — I noticed you've reviewed a few of my recent AfC reviews, thanks for that! :) Can I just clarify, assuming (?) that 'Pass' means you agree with my review, then #134 on the list as it currently stands seems contradictory: I declined it, you said 'pass', followed by 'passes GNG'. Thanks for your time. It's still unclear to me what reliable sources are. Certainty Wikipedia should be considered, maybe not. I think it may be more of a flip of a coin thing or personal taste. Anyway thanks for the consideration..

Article Review Draft: Padma Rao Sundarji
Hi! The re-submission of my article Draft: Padma Rao Sundarji has been rejected again. The cited sources do not have passing mentions but is about the person herself. The sources are either the work of the person herself that are published by recognised publishing houses or are links to write ups about her by news agencies. A couple of links are also from the well known news channels who have published a small introduction about her as their employee. Anyway, I have again changed the write up now. I request you to review the same and I also request your expert help in pointing out exactly what else I should remove or change in this draft before I submit it again, so that it can get accepted and moved to the live section this time. Thanks in advanceShravanthiRK (talk) 07:59, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Your draft was declined not rejected, YouTube links, articles by her or her publishers and news releases are not independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 08:20, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for your reply, Theroadislong I stand corrected (declined, not rejected) :) I have now removed the sources of articles written by her as well as Youtube links (earlier, I assumed it is acceptable if it was from a verified youtube channel, as mentioned in the wiki guidelines). I have just retained one youtube link as of now, which happens to be an interview of hers by a news channel (the live help section volunteers said that was acceptable). However, if you suggest I remove that as well, I shall do so. Apart from that, does my article stand good enough now? Please help! Thank you again! :)
- As per others comments you need to show she meets the notability standards. "She was a reporter and interviewed some notable personalities. She was removed from office and she contested it in a court and after multiple lawsuits won the case. Pretty run of the mill". Theroadislong (talk) 09:32, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- I really need help on this one again, as I dont seem to understand! I request you to help me a little more in detail please. If the lawsuit is a typical run of the mill, I will remove the same from the write up, however, if I am not wrong, the person is worthy of Wiki inclusion for the internationally recognised journalism and books that she has authored and co-authored, right? ShravanthiRK (talk) 10:34, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
- To show her notability, I would like to clarify if my understanding is correct:

The notability guidelines mention that the biography of any person who has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in a specific field. The book she has written covers the 30 year long civil war of Srilanka. I believe the book can be considered a primary source and maybe also counts as Reliable source as her book has been published by respected publishing houses as well? The links to the book reviews serve as secondary sources, if I am not wrong? As per my understanding of the wiki guidelines, for independent sources, we have News media articles about her which also mention her profession as a journalist. There are links to news channels who published her introduction on their website. I hope this is a valid source too? I am just trying to learn and ensure I do not go wrong again in my understanding. I was hoping to receive feedback and a review on my submission that went further in depth than, "this reads like an advertisement." Frankly, I find that assessment unfair and inaccurate. I spent many hours compiling third-party sources that provided credible information about the company that requested this work (DiscountMugs), and followed a nearly identical format to another company already published on Wikipedia (see below).
I would appreciate greater clarification on issues that need to be addressed than the general message I received. The Bensussen Deutsch & Associates page follows a nearly identical format and tone to the one I submitted on behalf of DiscountMugs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bensussen_Deutsch_%26_Associates

In the 1980s, he started companies relating to equipment financing, real estate financing and investment, as well as residential construction. A decade later, he began developing large scale communities and serving as a general contractor in road and utility construction.
