P.R.Sarkar!
Many years ago I was in Kolkata and I meet a person (he said that he was a teacher at a local University) in a restaurant near Gold Park and we start to speak about Chandra Bose and his misterious disappearance. It was from him that I heard for the first time about his kinship with P. R. Sarkar and other strange informations about his life. After years I read the book of Sarkar's life written from a Sarkar's disciple (Dharmavedananda, Ácárya (1999). Travel with the Mystic Master. ISBN 981-04-0864-1) where the same thing was written. Now I'm wery curious.. can you do a research maybe tryiing to find local documents or any information to confirm or to disconfirm this news? This will be very interesting to establish the truth and will also be a big scoop!--Cornelius383 (talk) 15:36, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- I have not found any RS in Google book or Google news that states Sarkar was nephew of Bose! Will need to study more, BTW, have you heard the name of Balak Brahmachari? --Tito Dutta ✉ 15:48, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
- We need a person that find information on this on the registry offices in Kolkata or in Jamalpur.. Maybe you know somebody. I should really like to finally establish the truth on this side.--Cornelius383 (talk) 16:20, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
GOCE May drive wrap-up
Guild of Copy Editors May 2012 backlog elimination drive wrap-up
Participation: Out of 54 people who signed up this drive, 32 copy-edited at least one article. Last drive's superstar, Lfstevens, again stood out, topping the leader board in all three categories and copy-editing over 700 articles. Thanks to all who participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. Progress report: We were once again successful in our primary goal—removing the oldest three months from the backlog—while removing 1166 articles from the queue, the second-most in our history. The total backlog currently sits at around 2600 articles, down from 8323 when we started out just over two years ago. Coodinator election: The six-month term for our third tranche of Guild coordinators will be expiring at the end of June. We will be accepting nominations for the fourth tranche of coordinators, who will also serve a six-month term. Nominations will open starting on June 5. For complete information, please have a look at the election page. – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa, and Stfg To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. Ramanujan's lost notebook
That article uses parenthetical citations rather than footnotes. If you add additional references, the details of the reference go in the reference section, and then the inline citation goes in the main body with the {{harvs}} template. If new references are added as footnotes, someone else will have to go through and convert them to match the style of that article. — Carl (CBM · talk) 16:21, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

My Rfc of article .. Mirror Link
Hi Tito, can you please review my RfC of article on Mirror Link. The links are available on my talk page. I have provided two citations/sources on this upcoming technology that everyone in Asia is talking about & is already widely in the news. Some guidance from you would help put it up on wiki in a structured manner. Look forward to your inputs. -Ambar (talk) 22:59, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

KP & Rajatrangini
Hi Tito, came across this website on Sir Aurel Stein, & was thinking of including some content on Kashmiri Pandits role in preserving the Rajatrangini over 9 generations & also helping & supporting Stein in finally translating & understanding it better. Since this document is a rare manuscript which provides a written record of the rulers of Kashmir & India in general, wanted to create a section on 'Kashmiri Pandits in Antiquity' or something like that. Look forward to your inputs. http://www.siraurelstein.org.uk/wayindia1.html Do take some time to review it. -Ambar (talk) 13:39, 6 June 2012 (UTC)

GA reviewer, and more...
Wow! You have turned out to be a great and systematic GA reviewer! I see you have been/are reviewing quite a few articles for GA, and that too in a very systematic manner. That's great going. It is unfortunate that Swami Vivekananda did not get a GA review yet. I think lack of interest/lack of some sort of prior knowledge may be a reason. It is genuinely disheartening to see a lot of other less important articles (such as various film articles) to get GA review, but not Vivekananda. I could have done it, but I am not much aware/concerned about GA criteria, and also have done some significant edits on the article. I think you can request Redtigerxyz (talk · contribs), he has unparalleled contribution on Hinduism related articles. Another editor to ping can be Ankitbhatt (talk · contribs) who may not be interested in the topic, but appears to be quite upbeat and energetic editor. Do you have plan to move the article to WP:FAC?--Dwaipayan (talk) 01:58, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
- There are many more articles waiting in the queue. You can ask in Wikipedia good article talk if requested reviews are allowed/encouraged since a requested review can be biased. Kahaani will be passed, I think! I thought of asking about that review yesterday, but later found too many good friends are participating there! So, changed mind, will you mind, if I raise this issue? --Tito Dutta ✉ 13:04, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Help needed
Things are bit out of control at Template talk:Culture of Bengal. I personally believe in User:Chandan Guha. Can you help by keeping him motivated? He seems pretty upset, that's probably because of wikistress. But, he still needs to tone down the nationalistic slur. Aditya(talk • contribs) 12:28, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Additional article requests for the Bengali Wikipedia
Hi, Tito! Are you interested in doing additional article requests for the Bengali Wikipedia? Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 02:32, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

- The same place you requested last time (actually I also need to find), you can remember you gave me discussion page link last time–that page! I think I can create a stub on Peel District School Board in Bn Wiki. BTW, I have seen the article has been created in Wiki Hindi, Pujabi Gujrati etc. Have you created/requested those articles? --Tito Dutta ✉ 02:48, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
- Tito: Thanks, Tito! Yes, I requested Peel School Board for Hindi, Punjabi, and Gujarati (among others). The school district serves many immigrant families. Of them, many come from the various regions of India (especially those in Brampton), and the school district has websites in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Eastern Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil. Therefore I believe that there should be pages on the district in those languages. WhisperToMe (talk) 03:03, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Needing Wiki contribution assistance!
Greetings Titodutta,
I am looking for an experienced Wikipedian to contribute an article for our band Mr. Meeble. I have checked and we meet the Wikipedia "notability" guidelines for a band. We have a very basic Wikipedia article written already, but I know that someone like yourself may be able to point out our formatting errors and critical omissions. Orphaned non-free media (File:Dabangg 2 poster.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Dabangg 2 poster.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:29, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

The Tea Leaf - Issue Four
Hi! Welcome to the fourth issue of The Tea Leaf, the official newsletter for the Teahouse!
- Teahouse pilot wraps up after 13 weeks After being piloted on English Wikipedia starting in February, the Teahouse wrapped up its pilot period on May 27, 2012. We expect this is just the beginning for the Teahouse and hope the project will continue to grow in the months to come!
Thank you and congratulations to all of the community members who participated - and continue to participate!
- What you've all been waiting for: Teahouse Pilot Report is released! We look forward to your feedback on the methodology and outcomes of this pilot project.
- ....and if a pilot report wasn't enough, the Teahouse Pilot Metrics Report is out too! Dive into the numbers and survey results to learn about the impact the Teahouse has made on English Wikipedia.
- Teahouse shows positive impact on new editor retention and engagement
- 409 new editors participated during the entire pilot period, with about 40 new editors participating in the Teahouse per week.
- Two weeks after participating, 33% of Teahouse guests are still active on Wikipedia, as opposed to 11% of a similar control group.
- New editors who participated in the Teahouse edit 10x the number of articles, make 7x more global edits, and 2x as much of their content survives on Wikipedia compared to the control group.
- Women participate in the Teahouse 28% of Teahouse participants were women, up from 9% of editors on Wikipedia in general, good news for this project which aimed to have impact on the gender gap too - but still lots to be done here!
- New opportunities await for the Teahouse in phase two as the Teahouse team and Wikipedia community examine ways to improve, scale, and sustain the project. Opportunities for future work include:
- Automating or semi-automating systems such as invites, metrics and archiving
- Experimenting with more ways for new editors to discover the Teahouse
- Building out the social and peer-to-peer aspects further, including exploring ways to make answering questions easier, creating more ways for new editors to help each other and for all participants to acknowledge each other's efforts
- Growing volunteer capacity, continuing to transfer Teahouse administration tasks to volunteers whenever possible, and looking for new ways to make maintenance and participation easier for everyone.
- Want to know how you can lend a hand at the Teahouse? Become a host! Learn more about what makes the Teahouse different than other help spaces on Wikipedia and see how you can help new editors by visiting here.
- Say hello to the new guests at the Teahouse. Take the time to welcome and get to know the latest guests at the Teahouse. Drop off some wikilove to these editors today, as being welcomed by experienced editors is really encouraging to new Wikipedians.

GAC review
I have been through more GAC reviews as a nominator than almost anyone on Wikipedia and you are bordering on bad faith as a reviewer, to the extent that I think you are attempting to wear me down. This is a first. I am about as tedious a reviewer as there is and I don't even bring up that many successive new concerns to replace resolved ones. It is as if you are attempting to make it look like we are not making progress for some reason. I am playing along because as an article related to the president, I feel I should aspire to a higher standard. However, this is not WP:FAC. Please review WP:WIAGA and attempt to limit suggestions to things necessary to meet that guideline.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:31, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Also, please take a second to catch up on capping your comments. The page is getting a bit frazzled.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 05:51, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Do you intend to continue the review?--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 14:44, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- If I see you have another extensive day of editing without responding to this issue, I will assume my perception was correct and that you are not willing to acknowledge progress on the article. I will request that a new reviewer take over the review.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:35, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. When you get a chance drop by Talk:Barack Obama on Twitter and change all the templates with class=GA and get in the habit of doing so when you review GACs.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 07:34, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

- Please go ahead. There are many Tollywood folks on whom articles are needed, I suppose. Facebook is an excellent resource. Otherwise it would have not been possible to know that Rita Kayral or Soumili Biswas studied at Jogamaya Devi College, or that Mir Afsar Ali studied at Umes Chandra College. Articles like BFJA Awards, Kalakar Awards and their recipients have to be updated. I suspect that unlike academics or politicians, credentials of actors, producers, technicians are neglected in Calcutta-related wiki articles. Some sources of information are vernacular sources, little magazines, college journals etc. BestGhanaDa (talk) 13:12, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

- Hey, Thanks a lot for your appropriate advice on time, we reached GA with it. Regards :)--Omer123hussain (talk) 23:49, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I have seen that. Congrats. But it was not a good timing. Before posting I did not notice the article was a GA nominee. I have added Template clear to avoid overlapping now. Good work! --Tito Dutta ✉ 23:53, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Commons move
Done. See File:Sarada Devi and Sister Nivedita.jpg, I also found a more clear image and uploaded that.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 07:04, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Excellent! Will reply in your talk page too! Though I need to learn direct move options too!--Tito Dutta ✉ 07:37, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hopefully you'll find this of use. I'll break it down into chunks.
- The first thing is that you can't move an image directly, you have to download the image to your computer and re-upload it to the Commons, so right click on an image and save it to your computer with "save image as" or similar function;
- Get a TUSC account here It should take only a few minutes to create one.
- The next time you come across an image you want to move, just go to Commons Helper (which is a link provided for you in {{Copy to Wikimedia Commons}}); type in the local image name an the name you want to use at commons (this will be automatically filled in if you go here through the template link) and click "get text";
- The program will generate all the text it can scrape locally for the upload at the Commons and provide a button for "Upload to Commons", click that;
- You will now be at the commons with all the upload information provided for you, all you need to do now is upload the image that you saved to your computer by;
- Clicking the browse button button and choosing the image stored on your computer, then save.
- That's pretty much it. It sounds more difficult and time consuming than it actually is. There are lots to practice on--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:46, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

Is there any template to tag "this article/this section of this article contains lots of wrong interwiki links? --Tito Dutta ✉ 09:17, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- The list of maintenance templates is at WP:TC. I don't see a special one for that - suggest you use {{Cleanup|reason=incorrect interwiki links|date=June 2012}}. Which article? JohnCD (talk) 09:59, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- There are many, for example– Bappi_Lahiri#Selected_discography Guru, Saheb etc etc are wrong wikilinks, Varun_Badola#TV_Serials etc! --Tito Dutta ✉ 10:16, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Few more I can find now– Haranath_Chakraborty#Filmography, Ranjit_Mullick#Filmography (common term Father, Picnic has been linked as films), if it is one-two articles I can go ahead and fix, but I was looking for a template since I face this regularly! --Tito Dutta ✉ 10:22, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Those are just wikilinks - inter-wiki links are links to other projects like Wiktionary or foreign-language WPs. I still don't see a specialised template, though - use "cleanup" with a "reason" parameter. Cheers, JohnCD (talk) 10:36, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

GOCE July 2012 Copy Edit Drive
Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their July 2012 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on July 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on July 31 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to eliminate the articles tagged in April, May and June 2011 from the queue and to complete all requests placed before the end of June. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 6 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in April–June 2011", and "Longest article". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Dank, Diannaa and Stfg. >>> Sign up now <<<

এখানে বিস্তারিত দেখা যাবে।
আমাকে বলেছে পুরো প্রবন্ধ-এর সোর্স পুনর্মূল্যায়ণ করতে!

- Hmmm.. but in case of close paraphrasing, the problem too much closeness with the wordings of the the source, not that what we are telling is pole apart from source. Essentially, close paraphrasing borders on plagiarizing, but not quite the same though.
