History merge

I requested a history merge at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#History_merge for "Talk That Talk". It appears that similar merges might be necessary for User:Tomica/Sandbox2, User:Tomica/Sandbox3, User:Tomica/Sandbox5, User:Tomica/Sandbox6, User:Tomica/Sandbox7 and User:Tomica/Sandbox12, if you plan on developing the articles to WP:FA status. Since you have already earned 3 WP:FOUR awards for this topic, I see more coming if you establish that you were the page creator with proper history merges. In general, I encourage history merges in the absense of a reason not to. Thus, everyone can see what the historical path of the article has been and your edit history will be included in the article.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 16:40, 21 September 2013 (UTC)

OMG. @TonyTheTiger:, thanks for the award once again. I truly appreciate it! But I don't think you should ask somebody to merge those sandboxes, because I withdrew from them, probably I should get them deleted lol. Thanks anyway! Cheers.

Best selling artists

Sorry, I never saw or new this, I will stop changing now. However that means Beyoncé is available to be listed in the 85 million claim as someone on the talk page has stated. Would that be appropriate? (as her 75 million record claim has stayed the same for around 4 years now)also remember when reverting my edit you are not placing her back in the 75 million section, you are completely removing her from the list --Lolcakes25 (talk) 12:49, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

RE: "No Love Allowed" sample

Yep, here you go. Et3rnal 16:30, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Hey bud, have you heard part 2 of JT's The 20/20 Experience? It's being streamed on iTunes, but I managed to find a link to the whole album. It's incredible! Et3rnal 18:22, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Agreed. My favorite tracks are "Gimme What I Don't Want Know (I Want)", "Take Back the Night", "TKO", "Not a Bad Thing" and the hidden song in the latter track. But in general all the songs are solid. Now we'll have to wait another 7 years for his next release! Et3rnal 18:32, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Rihanna - Where Have You Been.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Rihanna - Where Have You Been.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 17:11, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

I must have hit the revert button the same minute your edit was being processed. I fixed it now.--Harout72 (talk) 16:42, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

Days of inactivity.

I've started my MA this week and I've literally had no spare time! I think my time on WP will be very limited from now on :-(  — ₳aron 18:46, 28 September 2013 (UTC)

@Calvin999: Yeah, I kinda noticed it. Well, to be honest, real life should always be more important than Wikipedia so. :) How is London? — Tomíca(T2ME) 23:28, 29 September 2013 (UTC)
Yeah I just literally haven't got the time in this course. My days are so long and tiring that by the time I get home I just go to bed. But I am loving the course though. Have you started back yet?  — ₳aron 09:10, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Indeed, I did. However, there is still not much material to began to study. But I will have to start reading a bit, this week :/. Fucking Uni! LOL — Tomíca(T2ME) 09:21, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

NWTS

Hello Tomica, is there any reason at all you uploaded redundant duplicate versions of the Nothing Was the Same artworks? Is there any difference, or any guideline supporting "png" over "jpg" that I am missing? STATic message me! 19:03, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

Indeed there is a difference. The crop is different, and these are the official artworks taken from iTunes. And yeah, I uploaded them in new png version because now their quality is a lot better. — Tomíca(T2ME) 20:32, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Saying they are the official artwork, when the images are exactly the same does not make much sense to me. The quality does seem slightly better, but you could have at least tagged the old copies for speedy deletion. STATic message me! 21:05, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Well your perception is not well then. Compare the new version with an older reversion containing the jpg covers and you will see that the crop is different. — Tomíca(T2ME) 21:10, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
I was talking about the quality of the image, not the crop, but thank you so much for the smart ass response :) STATic message me! 23:01, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
No problem. Following your footsteps... as always. — Tomíca(T2ME) 23:12, 30 September 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 September newsletter

In 30 days, we will know the identity of our 2013 WikiCup champion.   Cwmhiraeth (submissions) currently leads; if that lead is held, she will become the first person to have won the WikiCup twice.   Sasata (submissions),   Hawkeye7 (submissions)—who has never participated in the competition before—and   Casliber (submissions) follow. The majority of points in this round have come from a mix of good articles and bonus points. This final round is seeing contributions to a number of highly important topics; recent submissions include Phoenix (constellation) (FA by Casliber), Ernest Lawrence (GA by Hawkeye7), Pinniped, and red fox (both GAs by Sasata).

The did you know (DYK) eligibility criteria have recently changed, meaning that newly passed good articles are accepted as "new" for did you know purposes. However, in the interests of not changing the WikiCup rules mid-competition, please note that only articles eligible for DYK under the old system (that is, newly created articles or 5x expansions) will be eligible for points in this year's WikiCup. We do, however, have time to discuss how this new system will work for next year's competition; a discussion will be opened in due course. On that note, thoughts are welcome on changes you'd like to see for next year. What worked? What didn't work? What would you like to see more of? What would you like to see less of? All Wikipedians, new or old, are also warmly invited to sign up for the 2014 WikiCup.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, please do your bit to reduce the review backlogs! Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. 20/20 Experience question

Hi. I noticed that you changed the The 20/20 Experience: 2 of 2's title to The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2. Should Greatest Hits: Chapter One be also changed to Greatest Hits – Chapter One too because Greatest Hits – Chapter One is the one used on iTunes, Amazon, and its official site? Thanks. Chihciboy (talk) 11:45, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Of course, that's its official title. I don't see a reason why it should not be changed. :) Cheers! — Tomíca(T2ME) 11:58, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

Olly Murs "Troublemaker" - Funk rock?

Hi, sorry for interrupt, Olly Murs' native UK number one hit "Troublemaker" is a pop song which article says pop, but suddenly funk rock has been added in the section and infobox which is unsourced as well as doesn't said that with any citation, I think funk rock is influenced, not really a genre. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.171.176.253 (talk) 15:21, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

What now?

You're being quite bitchy! What do you mean MY EDITS were senseless? Are you on your period or something? What the hell is wrong with you?! ChicagoWiz 02:07, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

@OZODOR: First of all I am a BOY! So if boys have period tell me about it! Btw, they were, why adding the {{.}} thing or whatever when we have a flat list (radio is not a format too). Second, adding genres WITHOUT a source, seriously dude? And last which the most senseless, There is no date officially confirmed for the video yet, but it is expected to be released very soon.: when the video is out we can have information about it in the lead, until then, let it be as it is. 08:46, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

@Tomica: You just made it sound like I was retarded or something! I didn't know you were a guy! I'm sorry but it just hurt my feelings when you said that it was "senseless." But now I see what you're talking about and I apologize for that. ChicagoWiz 16:22, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

@OZODOR: "Senseless" =/= "Retarded". If you check the dictionary they are 2 different meanings. And btw, even an experienced user can make some unneeded edits. Greetings.— Tomíca(T2ME) 16:27, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Martin vs Max Martin

Unless I'm mistake and I apologise in advance, you're the first user to ever refuse to shorten Max Martin to Martin on recurring mentions. My knowledge of policies is that there is no such reason for it not to happen so this warning about intervening and admins is not only harsh to other editors it seems baseless and based on preference too rather than solid editing policy. I've brought it up on the talk page Talk:Prism_(Katy_Perry_album)#Martin_vs_Max_Martin as it should probably be discussed. If there is a valid reason for not shortening his name please feel free to link the policy etc and I apologise. I would agree in principle if it was a case of Dr.Luke (i.e. his writer name is Lukasz Gottwald but producer name is Dr. Luke) whereas Karl Martin Sandberg has been credited as Max Martin for both writing and production so there's no valid reason not to shorten this upon reoccurances. Not shorting is simple redundancy. At the very least if harsh messages that aren't backed by an obvious policy are hidden into text there should at least be a note at some talk page somewhere. → Lil-℧niquԐ 1 - { Talk } - 22:29, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Stargate (production team)

Hi Tomica, why did you change every instance of "Stargate" in the "Prism (Katy Perry)" article back to "StarGate"? The name is lowercased in Teenage Dream (Katy Perry album) but more importantly, the article name and category ("Stargate (production team)" and "Category:Albums produced by Stargate") are both lowercased. Thanks. Acalamari 14:10, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Because both of them are wrong (I would redirect the article, but it is protected). Their production name is StarGate (if you open the Metacritic page for Prism you will see how they are written). Cheers! — Tomíca(T2ME) 14:41, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Re: Britney Jean

Hey there! :) I agree that the cover is really good. I'm not really feeling that neon-style logo but I feel like it's a reference to her Vegas residency lol. I am excited for "Perfume", I have high hopes for that song. — Saulo Talk to Me 23:39, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited What Now (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bass (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

PNG or JPG?

I have a quick question, I notice you have replaced the Wrapped in Cover that I have uploaded with a PNG version, is it always preferable to have a PNG version of an image for the album infobox? Because usually, I upload the JPG cover because it is much smaller in size, and loads faster thanks to its size. SyFuelIgniteBurned 15:09, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

@Syfuel: Hi. Well, I prefer png because the colors are lot more clearer and the cover gains its original picture. When it compress in the infobox, the jpg versions of the covers lose a lot of colors and elements of the picture itself (especially the red color). That's why I prefer uploading them in png. Cheers! — Tomíca(T2ME) 15:11, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
So basically, it would be better for me to upload any album/single covers in PNG then? 'cause if it is, I will start doing the same. :) SyFuelIgniteBurned 15:18, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Indeed is ;). — Tomíca(T2ME) 15:25, 29 October 2013 (UTC)

Why?

Why would you do the same thing I did on Britney Jean's album cover? It was the same edit. Not trying to start anything, just want to know why it's okay for you to do it and not me? livelikemusic my talk page! 13:55, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Britney Jean cover

What program did you use to resize the Britney Jean cover? The colors are not correct, this is the original cover: http://cfn.groundctrl.net/clients/britney_spears/media/04/04/images/assets/original.arAyI29WktNxjYgYuVDMw993Qa6DApC-Em6lUytyNGY.jpg So then why would it mater to use png to preserve the colors if the colors aren't correct in the version you reverted? Gcampbell92 (talk) 19:23, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

November 2013

Your recent editing history at File:Britney Jean.png shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Stefan2 (talk) 19:58, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
