editHello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist (talk) 22:56, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

editHello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! 220 of Borg 07:18, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Michael14375/Userboxes/smoking
editHello Michael14375,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Michael14375/Userboxes/smoking for deletion, because it seems to be a test. Did you know that the Wikipedia Sandbox is available for testing out edits?
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Another belated welcome
editHi Michael14375. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily.
Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.
If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.
Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.
I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Ronz (talk) 16:34, 9 March 2019 (UTC)
PewDiePie
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on PewDiePie; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --Ronz (talk) 16:54, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
Ethnicelebs.com as a source
editHi Michael14375. I noticed that you recently used ethnicelebs.com as a source for biographical information in Luke Steele (musician) and Katy Steele. Please note that there is general consensus that ethnicelebs.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See User_talk:XLinkBot/RevertList#EthniCelebs.com). If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 16:58, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
- In response to your comment:
- Wikipedia is a cooperative editing environment. Sometimes it can be challenging to collaborate with others that have different viewpoints than your own. I'm happy to explain further about my comments to you, or address the direct concerns in your comment if you'd like. --Ronz (talk) 20:53, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for finding another source to use in XXXTentacion. Please be much more careful with your choice of sources. Referring to WP:RSP might help, though sources like ethnicelebs.com that are given to a Bot for flagging and cleanup are often not listed. --Ronz (talk) 17:57, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Avicii. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:30, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
Original research
editPlease note that one of the cornerstones of Wikipedia is that it does not accept original research. At Avicii, you added that his death was caused by "suicide by self-harm". The two sources you provided certainly support that this was a suicide, though neither supports that it was "self-harm". In fact, the article you linked to--self-harm--states in the first line that it is "done without suicidal intentions". If you can find a source to support that Avicii was performing an act of self-harm that accidentally resulted in his death, I would urge you to add that source to the Avicii article. Until then, it is best not to draw your own conclusions. If you feel I am incorrect, please discuss on the Avicii talk page. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 10:50, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- Sources claim Avicii committed suicide by cutting himself with a wine bottle. Isn't that what self harm is? Michael14375 (talk) 16:48, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
- No. You're making the error of assuming that a compound expression means what it would if its composite words were taken literally. Not everything someone does that harms themselves is self-harm; if I trip on the stairs and crack a rib, if I drink myself to liver failure, or if I amputate my finger because I mistakenly suppose it is gangrenous, these are all acts that harm myself, but not self-harm - just as (for example) Christian Scientists aren't scientists. editThis is your only warning; if you violate Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy by inserting unsourced or poorly sourced defamatory content into an article or any other Wikipedia page again, as you did at Joe Jackson (manager), you may be blocked from editing without further notice.

The article Joel Berghult has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. SSSB (talk) 10:16, 22 April 2019 (UTC)

Images
editHi there. Just a few points about images:
- Images default to 220px, and should only be resized for a good reason.
- A vertically long image can be easily be resized by adding "upright".
- Non-free images have strict guidelines regarding their use in articles.
- Images should ideally be aligned to the right of the page (though this is not always possible or ideal).
Please see MOS:IMAGES for more details. I hope this helps. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:29, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

Unsourced content
editWith this edit at 6ix9ine you added that this performer was a "songwriter", and added this source to support your edit (it didn't). In your next edit, you removed the source, but left the edit stating he was a songwriter. What is your source to support this? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:33, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- Also, with this edit at NikkieTutorials you added that this performer's "gold year" was 2015 and "diamond year" was 2018. What was your source for this data? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:45, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- I added a source to NikkiTutorials and why wasn't the source I added to 6ix9ine valid? It says he wrote the song in the source. Michael14375 (talk) 19:54, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- You appear to have added the source to NikkiTutorials after I wrote you, and at 6ix9ine you in fact removed the source but left the edit. Is this correct? Magnolia677 (talk) 20:14, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- That is not correct, I did not remove the source I just moved it to the infobox in the genre section Michael14375 (talk) 21:08, 23 May 2019 (UTC)
- Also, with this edit at Jeffree Star you wrote about their YouTube account: "which he started on February 14 2006". You used this source to support your edit. Where in the source cited does it say this? Magnolia677 (talk) 20:18, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

XXXTentacion
editHello sir, I am a long knowing fan of the late rapper XXXTENTACION. And my concerns to this page that nothing about the information about the rapper, but the picture that symbolizes the rapper. You have his mugshot up there that was from 2016. Why not have his last knowing picture from 2018 that was recently released? I’m honestly appalled by seeing his mugshot to symbolize who he was. Yes he was on the controversial around those times, however, he tried to change his late before his death. The last 6 months of his life he just wanted to help everyone, he was always so positive. I just wanted to let you know that I just feel a little offended because y’all are focusing on the things he did instead of who he was. LLJahseh618 (talk) 17:24, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- I am not the one that uploaded the photo, his mugshots were the only pictures of him uploaded to Wikipedia. There was a Wikipedia profile pic of him that wasn't a mugshot a while ago, it must've got taken down for copyright violations. Michael14375 (talk) 00:20, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:YouTube channels launched in 2019
editA tag has been placed on Category:YouTube channels launched in 2019 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Talk! 01:39, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
