Welcome to Wikipedia, Velorblack! I'm Staraction, and I've been assigned as your mentor. All new Wikipedia accounts receive a mentor chosen randomly from a list of volunteers. It just means I'm here to help with anything you need! We need to have all kinds of people working together to create an online encyclopedia, so I'm glad you're here. Over time, you will figure out what you enjoy doing the most on Wikipedia.

You might have noticed that you have access to a tutorial and suggested edits. It's recommended that you take advantage of this, as it'll make learning how to edit Wikipedia easier.

If you need assistance with anything or have any questions, click on the "Get editing help" button on the bottom right corner of your screen. This will open up a module with links to help pages and a place to ask me questions. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or go here to get help from the wider community.

I appreciate that you are trying to help by adding wikilinks to articles, but please be sure to check the links for accuracy before you add them. The "link suggestion feature" for newcomers is just a robot; it has no idea whether the links it suggests are correct or not, and sometimes they are not correct; that is why we need human editors to confirm them before they are added. Some of the links that you have added over the last few days are incorrect. Some examples:

  1. The modern magazine The Bookseller, which you added to the article on the The Antipodes in this edit, has nothing to do with the 17th-century bookseller Francis Constable.
  2. Dr. John, the New Orleans musician, has nothing to do with Dr. John C. Brothers, so the link that you added to the article on Mack P. Brothers Jr. in this edit was also inappropriate.
  3. And two of the links that you added to the article about Annette Lyon in this edit were also incorrect: the Silver Quill Award that she won in 2013 has nothing to do with the Quill Awards, which were awarded from 2005 to 2007, and Lyon's book The Invisible Writing Mother has nothing to do with The Invisible Writing, which is the autobiography of Arthur Koestler!

It's very important to check each wikilink carefully before you add it to the article, so that other editors don't have to come along after you and fix the mistakes. (The mistakes listed above have already been fixed, by myself and other editors.) If you're uncertain whether the link is correct or not, please do not add it. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Thank you. Crawdad Blues (talk) 15:16, 26 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello there!
Thank you for pointing this out to me. I'm so sorry that the links I added were not correct. I will make sure to be careful next time as I'm still learning.

Marking edits as minor

[edit]

Why did you mark this edit as minor? It is plainly no such thing. Not bothering to describe what you did in an edit summary is problematic as well. ~2026-29190-18 (talk) 07:59, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hello there!
You fixed minor errors in the paragraphs. There were some areas where you could've edited more references where needed but didn't. However, you did do a pretty good job.
Cheers! Velorblack (talk) 08:26, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
That is irrelevant nonsense. Why haven't you answered the question? ~2026-29190-18 (talk) 09:00, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't need to provide a summary of what I've done. Similarly, I haven't reverted your edits either. You can still go on the article and make further edits if you think its sufficient but make sure it's in good faith.
Cheers! Velorblack (talk) 09:26, 16 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Feedback
The reviewer, EaglesFan37, left the following feedback:
This draft appears to contain text generated by a large language model (such as ChatGPT). You cannot use LLMs to generate article content.

LLM-generated pages with certain obvious signs of being machine generated may be deleted without notice.

These tools are prone to specific issues that violate our policies:

  • hallucinations: they often invent false information and cite non-existent references.
  • unencyclopedic tone: they tend to be vague, promotional, or essay-like, rather than neutral and factual.
  • copyright issues: they may closely paraphrase existing text, leading to copyright violations.

Instead, only summarize in your own words a range of independent, reliable, published sources that discuss the subject.

See the advice page on large language models for more information.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:Harold Schweizer to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
