DYK for List of cricketers who have taken five-wicket hauls on ODI debut
On 7 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of cricketers who have taken five-wicket hauls on ODI debut, which you recently created or substantially expanded. DYK for Ezhavathu Manithan
On 9 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ezhavathu Manithan, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the soundtrack of 1982 film Ezhavathu Manithan featured songs from a pre-recorded album of L. Vaidyanathan, composed using the lyrics of Subramania Bharati's poetry? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ezhavathu Manithan. Hi. Hope you're well. For the above FLC, could you please point out what is wrong with numbers in the awards/nominations section? Nominator has also recently made a substantial change to the lead so that it mentions more films. Best wishes, Cowlibob (talk) 19:50, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

This was opened on 3 June. By 3 August, it will complete two months and i shall close it before proceeding to FAC. I request you to suggest necessary changes if any at the PR page before it gets closed, as i want the FAC process a bit hassle free. Yours sincerely, Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:59, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Hey, just in case you were interested, you could use something from List of international goals scored by Wayne Rooney or List of international cricket five-wicket hauls by Lance Gibbs at DYK. Both fresh lists, almost certainly meeting the DYK criteria...... The Rambling Man (talk) 20:41, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Tourism
I've doubt in section headings as some FA's have Landmarks as heading and some have Tourism, places of interest. This time it is making me sick. I know you want at least 1 month to clear my flc. Take your time. Come up with more silly issues like this. Thank you.Krish | Talk 12:46, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Multiple FLCs
Hi Vensatry, in answer to your question, the FLC guidelines state "Users should not add a second featured list nomination until the first has gained substantial support and reviewers' concerns have been substantially addressed" so I wait until I get at least two supports and have no serious issues outstanding before nominating another list. Right now I have Riverside (3 supports, no outstanding issues), Broad (3 supports, no outstanding issues), Rooney (4 supports, one comment for a reviewer to re-visit), and now McLean (1 support, no outstanding issues). I also contacted SchroCat before nominating the third, but since I'm on top of all the nominations, and I'm waiting until each list has "substantial support" before nominating the next, there shouldn't be a problem. The Rambling Man (talk) 07:09, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- @The Rambling Man: Sorry missed this. I know we are allowed to add a second nomination if the first one gains substantial support. But cumulative nominations? —Vensatry (ping) 15:51, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- As I said, I contacted SchroCat about it, because the state of my other FLCs was so advanced, it was deemed fine. The Rambling Man (talk) 15:55, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
Om DVD
This is truly weird. Isn't it? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:18, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Indeed. I haven't really heard about this film. :) —Vensatry (ping) 10:34, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- I too came to know about this film recently during my visit to Bangalore. Whenever Kannada films running in theatres are not performing well, Om is screened again and the collections are really good every time! I don't know what made the makers stand silent for not selling the satellite rights and DVD rights for almost twenty years. Strangely, Uppi 2 (same director), the sequel of Upendra (released 15 years ago), is being screened in theatres right now. Having said that, i haven't watched Om yet and i don't know whether i can. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:59, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Ha, take 10 theatres in the city. 6 will show Tamil/Telugu, 3 constitute Hindi/English and the rest will screen Kannada movies. :) —Vensatry (ping) 15:40, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Harsh enough, but that's the reality. That's why i said Om is re-released only when there are no other viable options. In a span of 20 years, this happened nearly for 150 times. I don't think so that Upendra's other successful films (as a director) enjoy this privilege. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 15:57, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- I don't watch Kannada movies. Leave Upendra, even the Rajkumars and the Vishnuvardhans hadn't drawn my attention. But I've seen almost all of Vishnu's Tamil films. Shankar Nag was an excellent filmmaker, but yet to watch a film of his. :) —Vensatry (ping) 16:12, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- My situation is more or less the same. I know about Upendra because of his limited works in Telugu and thanks to the infamous A (recommended by Ssven2) and Upendra (whose strange concept and abrupt climax made me see Upendra 2 recently, which too ends on a similar note). I saw Power and Aptharakshaka of Puneeth Rajkumar and Vishnuvarshan due to the former's original and the latter's remake. I too heard good things about Shankar Nag's direction, mainly about his screenplay abilities. Let's see. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:20, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- None of the Kannada actors have really impressed me; Ramesh Aravind is an exception though. The 70s was a golden period for Kannada cinema. The new wave cinema in South Indian had actually begun in Karnataka during that time. Puttanna Kanagal, a path breaker in the middle-of-the-road cinema in South India, is one amazing writer/filmmaker. And yes, Shankar Nag was renowned for his screenwriting abilities. I actually discovered him through Ilaiyaraaja. —Vensatry (ping) 16:35, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Ilaiyaraaja? How? And yes, Ramesh Aravind is a good director also, though i feel Uttama Villain could have been handled in a better way, especially Margadarsi's film. In Kannada cinema, i think the golden days were done with Vishnuvardhan who too went on to act in mediocre films. And perhaps that made Kannada audience embrace other language films more. Strangely, bigger stars like Shivrajkumar, Puneeth, Upendra, Sudeep and Darshan are acting mostly in the remakes of Telugu and Tamil films these days, and few of them even made me loose my interest on the originals also. Darling (Telugu) Kannada remake is one such classic example. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 16:49, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- No, I guess Vishnu had started to fade away right from the early 80s. He was perhaps the first superstar of his generation in the whole of South India. I'm not very impressed with Ramesh, the dir. But as an actor he is truly amazing. Sathi Leelavathi is a fine example. Coming to Shankar Nag, I was actually listening to a song in Geetha for which IR had composed the music. It was only after that I discovered other films of his like Accident. They both were good friends actually. —Vensatry (ping) 17:17, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Oh! i got it. Aravind did a good job in Rudraveena as well, albeit in a cameo appearance. I respect Vishnuvardhan for his work, mainly in films like Nagarahavu. Similarly, i liked Upendra's work as a director more than an actor. Dare i say, he was one of the primitive Kannada directors to start using the "shock and awe" techniques in filmmaking with some really different scripts. But i must admit that his last directorial Upendra 2 was too complicated where the message "If you are not now here, you can be nowhere" is conveyed using a protagonist who represents the feeling of "you". The prequel explored the influence of money, love and responsibilities on the feeling of "Myself"/Human Ego using four characters who represent them, which made it more interesting. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 17:29, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, I guess he did the same role in its Tamil remake as well. Vishnu started off really well, under the likes of Girish Karnad, B. V. Karanth, and Puttanna Kanagal. He did lead roles in Tamil even before Kamal started doing one. I know Upendra makes films but is he really that talented? I was under the impression that he is just another Crazy Star! —Vensatry (ping) 17:48, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- I really hate that so-called Crazy star. Coming to Upendra, i too never knew till Ssven2 recommended me to watch A. It was a simple love story in the backdrop of film industry and casting couch, but the way he executed it makes it very unique. I later watched Upendra, that was way ahead of A in terms of being whacky. IMHO He is a good actor and a maverick director. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 01:58, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

provisional population
Provisional population results means?--Vin09 (talk) 12:26, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
I thought it was official, so we need to follow census of India? If you could check Mumbai page too. I've added there and some top 10 city pages.--Vin09 (talk) 12:26, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- As the name implies the results are provisional and not final. The citypopulation.de data is based on the final calculations which are available here. I've done some calculations here. —Vensatry (ping) 12:30, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- I think this reference is official to use?--Vin09 (talk) 12:36, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- That's nothing but the "provisional" document. The final population figures are available (state/city/UA/town/village) in the census website. You need to download it from here. —Vensatry (ping) 12:40, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help, I've followed same kind of reference for mandals pages like this, but for cities, I've used the former one in most of the pages, so needs to be replaced with the new one which you said. A small doubt in your reference, whether to which one to download Part-B-ebook(CRC)? or Town Amenities? one. I see both are same for Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh for example.--:Vin09 (talk) 12:47, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- The first one (PDF) is a comprehensive one while the second one (Excel file) lists just numbers. —Vensatry (ping) 13:04, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

A small doubt in your reference, whether to which one to download Part-B-ebook(CRC)? or Town Amenities? one. I see both are same for Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh for example.--:Vin09 (talk) 12:47, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- That's nothing but the "provisional" document. The final population figures are available (state/city/UA/town/village) in the census website. You need to download it from here. —Vensatry (ping) 12:40, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- I think this reference is official to use?--Vin09 (talk) 12:36, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
In Hyderabad(FA article), demographics section lists the provisional reference. So, confused now in secondary cities pages, to which one to use?--Vin09 (talk) 13:15, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- The article was promoted long back. The final results have just been released that many are not even aware of it. —Vensatry (ping) 15:53, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- There are official references for Guntur, Nellore and Visakhapatnam, I asked this long back at User_talk:Vensatry/Archive_28#Doubt. I'm adding these three cities figures on Urban agglomeration page. Is it okay to add them?--Vin09 (talk) 17:31, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Can you show me the links for the official refs? —Vensatry (ping) 17:41, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Performed an edit based on your reference for main city population of Kurnool, could you check it?
- Can you show me the links for the official refs? —Vensatry (ping) 17:41, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

- Guntur-U/A, Main city
- Nellore-Nellore city.
Forgot to add Vizag->GVMC ref
- The newspaper source seems fine. The corporation sites just give an estimate, better don't add them. As for Vizag, the city and UA are one and the same. —Vensatry (ping) 18:04, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- So, Guntur city and Vizag are ok? I won't add UA of Guntur. So, what about Nellore?--Vin09 (talk) 18:08, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
- Also, did you check Kurnool?
- (edit conflict) For city you may add the updated figures, but for UA follow the census website. —Vensatry (ping) 18:10, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

@Vensatry: Thanks for your valuable info. Please let me know if my edit is ok on here.--Vin09 (talk) 18:19, 21 August 2015 (UTC)
A doubt regarding ref. census main site, your ref, which one to use, both are from census, but some difference in population for Mangalagiri town.--Vin09 (talk) 10:17, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- One is provisional and the other is final. I've been telling this to you since yesterday! —Vensatry (ping) 11:03, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- No I'm not referring to that chart listing, which is provisional one, this is different, the reference which I state above is search box in census site, from there I got the above one.--Vin09 (talk) 11:26, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- Good catch! Both are final, but the pdf link includes outgrowths, so is the inflation. —Vensatry (ping) 11:33, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- I think I got the answer, in pdf those are urban agglomerations, as per 2011 census all outgrowths are considered as UA. I've check it for Tadepalle, Guntur district, it worked if the OG Navuluru was subtracted from UA it is giving the main one. The search box defines main town as (M) and pdf has (M+OG). Anyways, thanks for taking your time in helping.--Vin09 (talk) 11:36, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

I have expanded the parent article to a certain extent. Quoting P. S. Veerappa, "Vensatry, Enna Mudivu Seidhirukkiraai?" — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 01:53, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

- Thanks bro. Wanted to use a devil-grin so as to give one of the actor's guffaw effects, LOL. BTW, I'm working on List of players who have scored 10,000 or more runs in Test cricket. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 05:59, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah I could sense that! —Vensatry (ping) 06:34, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- Hey wait, you grabbed my future project. —Vensatry (ping) 06:34, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- Actually, I kind of tried to make it easy for you (We could be co-nominators for the FLC if you like). Just figuring out what more to add. A secondary source would be needed though for both the Test and ODI lists. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 07:00, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- No worries, good work! You could add a bit of history in the opening para. Something like before Gavaskar who held the record, who held the record for the longest period, etc., —Vensatry (ping) 07:58, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

I have added some history regarding who held the record before Sunny (Good old Gary Sobers did so before Geoff Boycott took over and then Sunny took over). Do check if everything's alright before it is nominated for FLC. Thanks. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 12:27, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
- I suggest you wait for sometime before nom the list as my candidate seems to be a border-line case of 3(b) violation. Cheers —Vensatry (ping) 12:44, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Your revert
I noticed you reverted Prasannarane61993's edit. Please don't bother assuming good faith. The user has been removing Bombay and inserting Maharashtra on various article. Just revert them and leave a warning for disruptive editing next time. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:31, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, didn't see his edits. Sure! —Vensatry (ping) 18:34, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Check
Could you check if my edit is correct here.--Vin09 (talk) 11:39, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
I've started a discussion at Talk:List_of_cities_in_India_by_population#Census_reference. You can have your views, as in the talk page it can be a future reference. Thanks.--Vin09 (talk) 12:07, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
- Vin09, the same sources lie before you as well. Why do you want me to do the crosscheck? —Vensatry (ping) 12:09, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
