File source problem with File:Ayyaswamy.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Ayyaswamy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:26, 11 April 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 09:26, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
This image file was originally taken from Dr. Ayyaswamy's official website : http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~ayya/. But, now I have uploaded a better resolution image for his profile picture. The file name is "Professor_Ayyaswamy.jpg". This picture is given to me by Professor Ayyaswamy.Pratanu.roy (talk) 07:38, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Professor Ayyaswamy.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Professor Ayyaswamy.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 13:13, 14 April 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 13:13, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for notifying me of this issue. I will soon add the necessary source and reference for this image. Can you please check the article and let me know if it looks like an encyclopedic article now and is it possible to remove the notes regarding 3rd party references at the top of the article? I have added about 30 references.Pratanu.roy (talk) 09:26, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
My error in saving a change
editI think we were editing at the same time, my edit looks like it was saved twice. Did I delete your material? If so, it was an honest mistake and I apologize.Crtew (talk) 16:25, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- That's okay. It seems like our edits have overlapped. I apologize if I have removed any of your edits. Thanks. Pratanu.roy (talk) 16:36, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
- You're doing fine! I'm sure the problem was mine. Happy editing, Crtew (talk) 17:38, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:17, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
Sockpuppet
editYou asked how one reports a sockpuppet, I do this quite often. Who do you think is socking and who the socks are? Darkness Shines (talk) 22:05, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
- Right now, I don't have any sockpuppet complain against any specific user. I just wanted to know the process how to report it since I am working on some current articles in Wikipedia, which are frequently vandalized by some editors of a certain group. Thanks for your concern, btw. Pratanu.roy (talk) 22:40, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
Repeatedly revert
editYour recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. You have been reverting the edits and redirecting the article 2013 Bangladesh riot before finishing the discussion. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You have been reported for 3RR violations. Please see WP:3RR. Thanks. --Rossi101 (talk) 09:31, 5 March 2013 (UTC)Rossi101
- You just copy pasted my warning, or what? And, did you actually report me for 3RR violations (although you can not prove that even if you do so). Anyway, thanks for the warning! Pratanu.roy (talk) 09:49, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
Title
editWe can start a discussion on the title on the article talk page. You can start it right away. I'll be posting it shortly anyways. Aditya(talk • contribs) 06:57, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
- Actually there is already a thread named 'Changing the title' in the talk page. Thanks. 165.91.192.142 (talk) 07:26, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
- That thread has become too convoluted already. So I started a new one. Aditya(talk • contribs) 09:43, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
1971 Bangladesh atrocities
editYou recently commented on a RM on the article 1971 Bangladesh atrocities. The discussion was closed and the article moved to the previous title by another editor per WP:RM/TR. A new RM has been initiated and can be found here Darkness Shines (talk) 16:27, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
- I have put my comments there. Thanks for letting me know. Vortex Shedding (talk) 05:05, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
Take a look on Mahmudur Rahman
editI think you are from Bangladesh. Could you please provide some input on this article? A discussion is going on Talk:Mahmudur Rahman page. Can you please take part there?--FreemesM (talk) 17:58, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
- Will take a look at it. Thanks. Vortex Shedding (talk) 17:22, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Warning
editI am perfectly in my rights to remove absurd edit war warning notices from users who are edit warring against me. You are not within your rights to repeatedly restore content on my talk page. This is a terse but polite message to warn you to refrain from doing so in future. Applesandapples (talk) 07:56, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Will remove your warning using my 'rights' shortly. :) Vortex Shedding (talk) 20:51, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
