Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.

DYK for Creagerstown, Maryland
On 5 April 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Creagerstown, Maryland, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the crossroads town Creagerstown burned down in 1914 and never recovered? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Creagerstown, Maryland. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Wiki Loves Capitol Hill + Frederick Historical Society
Hello Zellfaze. My colleague Jim tells me you may be interested in Wiki Loves Capitol Hill in DC. You may also be able to reach out to the Frederick Historical Society about an edit-a-thon there. Let me know what your thoughts are on either of these things. Thanks, Harej (talk) 20:02, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
- @Harej: I am planning on running one at the archives at our local library in just a few months. There is a meetup page for it if you are interested. If this goes well I might try to hold one at the Frederick Historical Society a few months after this one. I would have loved to be able to make it to the edit-a-thon tomorrow, but I have to work. I may or may not make it down to DC for the Wiki Loves Capitol Hill stuff on Saturday. It depends on whether or not I feel like taking a ton of buses that morning. I am very interested in law in general and copyright law in particular. I've had at least one person recommend that I try to start a WiR program at the Frederick Historical Society (unpaid of course), something I am very receptive to and plan to speak to them about. I suspect they would be receptive of it as well and the last time I spoke to them they asked me to volunteer to help people with research, so I could do that for them as well as helping to digitize their collection. Zell Faze (talk) 20:12, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
- Excellent! Feel free to post the event to the Wikimedia DC mailing list; you could also ask Geraldshields11 to post on our Meetup page. Harej (talk) 00:18, 11 April 2014 (UTC)

WP:PERM request
Per your request, user rights have been added. Please note, this is being granted on a temporary basis for your event. Please review this page for additional information on creating accounts for events. — xaosflux Talk 16:02, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
After reviewing your request for the account creator right, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:
- The account creator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
- The account creator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the account creator right will result in its removal by an administrator.
If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the account creator right. Happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 16:02, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: Thank you. I'll no longer need it after my edit-a-thon next week at which time I will notify you so that it can be removed. If there is anything I can do to help for the duration that I have the right, please do not hesitate to ask. Zell Faze (talk) 16:11, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- Please note, your request has been granted with a limited scope. This scope is administrative in nature, not technical; please abide by the conditions.
- p.s. sorry for all these rules, it seems like this permission is more of a big deal then it used to be, I don't expect you to cause any problems, just want to make it clear. I hope your event is very successful. — xaosflux Talk 16:13, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: No worries. I completely understand. I just figured I'd offer the help while I can. Out of curiosity, any idea the circumstances that caused this permission to become a much bigger deal? Was there some sort of on-wiki scandal I have not seen? I generally keep out of the drama, though I do enjoy reading about it afterward if for nothing other than historical context. Zell Faze (talk) 17:09, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not 100% up on it, but noticed there are a lot pages and processes related to it. I think that due to technical reasons it had to be bundled with a bunch of other permissions that override editnotice and page moves restrictions (rather than have those be separate permissions). For various tracking reasons, account creation for others is normally done through a request process that involves additional tracking and logging, mostly to ensure that the accounts represent legitimate users. In cases such as your event, or school instructors setting up a classroom full of students, the end users are right there so it is easy to ensure they are real. — xaosflux Talk 18:49, 8 June 2014 (UTC)

If you wish to file an SPI, I will support it. However, I just opened another SPI on a more egregious case for an IP (they cannot open them) and really do not find this urgent enough to file. They are a problem to me on only one article and I can just whack their edits as they occur. If you wish to start one, I will speak in your behalf on it. Djibouti
When you selectively reverted 189.139.209.35's edits you only partially reverted the HDI section. You changed the decrease back to increase but left the box showing the 2014 data. I just wanted to check and make sure that you didn't mean to revert that entire section. Zell Faze (talk) 02:04, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Zellfaze. Thanks for the note. I indeed changed the arrow direction in order to match that on List of countries by Human Development Index, where the arrow for Djibouti is green and pointing upwards. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 14:14, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

Kww's talk page
What in the world are you doing here? --NeilN talk to me 23:31, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- @NeilN: (and also @Kww: in case I made a mistake and he is wondering, in which case, please please revert), at the top of his talk page he had a banner that said "This talk page is becoming very long. Please consider archiving inactive discussions. Requested; July 2014." I thought that was an open request for someone to archive parts of his talk page? I can definitely revert it if I was wrong about that. (¬,¬”) (As close to an oops face I can get...) Zell Faze (talk) 23:46, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, that's not a message from Kww. That's a message to Kww from someone else. --NeilN talk to me 23:48, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- @NeilN:, edit has been reverted and I've tagged the archive with G7. Thank you for letting me know I was in error! I'm going to go to the talk page for that template and request some modifications to the wording to ensure others don't do that in the future. Zell Faze (talk) 23:53, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Wikimedia DC invites revolutionaries, free thinkers, and other sundry editors to a DC WikiSalon
The WikiSalon is a special meetup usually held during the first and third full weeks of every month, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's an informal gathering of Wikimedia enthusiasts, who come together to discuss Wikimedia wikis and collaboratively edit. There's no set agenda, and guests are welcome to recommend articles for the group to edit or edit on their own.
If you're coming by Metro, the closest station is Dupont Circle (on the Red Line). If you're driving, a lot of parking opens up downtown after 6:30 PM, so finding a parking space (even a free one) should be easy. Once you've found the building, go to Cove on the second floor. We will be in the conference room.
When: Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Where: The Cove, Dupont Circle, 1730 Connecticut Avenue NW, 2nd floor, 20009, DC

Pathology Task Force
You asked me for input. If possible, I'll reinvigorate the Anatomic Pathology taskforce, perhaps as the only member! I would love to begin creating an online textbook for liver biopsies (that's obviously an encyclopedia). If you will help me with getting used to entering photographs & the like, I'll teach you as much about pathology as you can stand. I had to add the number "1" to my name because I lost my account, but am still using User:TexasPathologist for set up purposes. Best regards, TexasPathologist1 (talk) 00:07, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- @TexasPathologist1: @TexasPathologist: I'd be happy to help in any way that I can! Feel free to message me if you need anything or if you have any questions what-so-ever. And if you are working on an article that I might be interested in, definitely let me know! Also if you have slides, I have access to an Olympus VS120-SL that I'd be happy to take photos with. It takes some amazing pictures, I just have a hard time finding tissue that I can photograph and release without breaking client confidentiality agreements. List of killings by law enforcement officers in the United States, July 2014
Thank you for creating the article: List of killings by law enforcement officers in the United States, July 2014. I want to see if you'd be interested in working with me to organize the photographs of protest in relation to police brutality in the past few months, and to perhaps also do some public encouragement of people to take photographs of protest on Commons, and upload them to Wikipedia. commons:Category:Demonstrations and protests in the United States in 2014. Cheers! OR drohowa (talk) 22:55, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- @OR drohowa: I'd be happy to help you organise photos. Is there anything in particular that you'd like to delegate to me? At this very moment I'm not in much of the mood to sit down and figure out tasks that need completed, more of wanting to go down a checklist or take care of one larger task (such as moving images into subcategories from a primary category). I'm not sure there is much I can do in the way of encouraging more photos as I don't live in that area and know no one from that area. Zell Faze (talk) 18:25, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
