- Reason
- She launched the Second Wave of Feminism, which is rather an acomplishment; also the photo's pretty good and has a lot of characer. Might want her facing the other way, but beggars can't be choosers, as they say.
- Articles in which this image appears
- Betty Friedan, History of feminism, American philosophy, 9 others, and just added to The Feminine Mystique as well.
- FP category for this image
- Wikipedia:Featured pictures/People/Artists and writers, maybe? She kind of stands between a lot of categories - science for her psychology background, political for the NOW work, etc.
- Creator
- Fred Palumbo, restored by Adam Cuerden

- Weak oppose - We absolutely should have a featured picture of Friedan - heck, I've cited her in RL numerous times. I'm afraid this just isn't it, however. Her looking away from the camera just takes too much away from the image for me, as does the tension between her forward-facing body and side-facing head. — Chris Woodrich (talk) 23:46, 8 July 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose – Per Chris. Also, heavy back-shadow is distracting. Sca (talk) 13:57, 9 July 2016 (UTC)

- Think I'll withdraw this one. It's hard to argue against objections to the pose. Adam Cuerden (talk) 22:05, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
