- Fixed In the future, you are more than free to make such changes yourself. Thanks! CTF83! 04:29, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- To be fair, it was vandalism to a template transcluded into the article in question; the OP may have not been able to find the source of the vandalism so easily. --Jayron32 04:31, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Add a listing
editI would like to add my magazine, titled Mugwumps to your listing, both in the disambiguation page and as an entry. We have been around since 1971, 11 years as a print magazine and since then as www.Mugwumps.com online.76.19.241.50 (talk) 07:27, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- If (and only if) your magazine meets Wikipedia's criteria for notability - in short, that reliable sources, independent of it have written in depth about it, then there may be an article about it in Wikipedia, and it may appear in lists and disambiguation pages. However, as you have a conflict of interest, you should not be the person to write such an article. I suggest you research to find the references required, and if you can find them, post a request either at requested articles, or perhaps at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Magazines. But please don't pursue it until there are such references, as you will be wasting your time. --ColinFine (talk) 11:56, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

- You asked a question above, which was answered. This one is worded slightly differently, but I don't see that it is a different question. If the prior answer wasn't sufficient, please explain further.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 13:31, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Responding to removal of csd tag
editHow do I respond to the removal of csd tag by the creator with no rationale given? Just curious. Weihang7 (talk) 09:55, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Replace the tag and place {{uw-speedy1}} on their talk page. Hack (talk) 10:04, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Direct Link For Former Logo For Current WWOD
editThere Is A Former Logo For Current WWOD And I Think It Would Work Wonders For "Archiving" Purposes To Post This Logo Onto The Article For WWOD. The Listen Live Link For WWOD Was The Source Of This Former Logo 98.229.132.126 (talk) 10:07, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not an archive. We don't just gather every bit of information and every image related to a subject. Also, the logo is copyrighted by, most likely, the radio station and would need a good justification for being used in the article under a fair use claim. "Good" meaning not just to archive the existence of the logo of some barely notable radio station. Dismas|(talk) 14:21, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

Catch a fleeting redirect...
editHello,
When I discovered that List of flying aces in Arab-Israeli wars directed to List of Israeli flying aces, I read that article's Talk page and began combing through my aviation files. I found enough information, with cites, to create List of Egyptian flying aces and List of Syrian flying aces. This means the redirect List of flying aces in Arab-Israeli wars is doubly incorrect. The redirect should lead to a disambiguation page containing these three links. Unfortunately, I lack the skills for catching this fleeting phony indirect page and correcting this situation. Could you please help me solve this dilemma, for the good of WP?
Georgejdorner (talk) 16:12, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- When you've just been redirected, "(Redirected from List of flying aces in Arab-Israeli wars)" appears under the heading. If you click that link (or the one I've just posted), you'll be able to edit the redirect and create your disambiguation page. HTH, - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 17:26, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
Rid of previous account
editHello. I have been disturbed a lot and felt sad in my real life for plenty of edits on wikipedia using my real name. I left that account. Now i dont want it to be serchable on Google either. If I google my name, I feel ashamed. Whoever googled it so far has misunderstood me, from near ones to relatives. Please tell me how talk pages, history pages, FAC or GAC pages can be hidden from google. If any admin or burocrat can do it, please tell me so. I know my name as a Wiki editor will never vanish completely from Google search but I want to minimise such results. Helpers believe me it is possible. I ll contact anyone you suggest. Since contact details on this page are not allowed, I also have a FB account to use and contact anyone privately. But please help me remove my name from the Wiki.
Yes I have an advice that, on the account creation page itself Wikipedia must warn about use of real names.Hometech (talk) 19:10, 26 December 2012 (UTC)

- You can request a change of username at Wikipedia:Changing username. Hack (talk) 19:19, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- You can also place
__NOINDEX__
on pages to make search engines not index them. The Anonymouse (talk • contribs) 19:44, 26 December 2012 (UTC) - where on the page? at the top of it while editing? Hometech (talk) 22:13, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- When in editing mode, simply place it somewhere on the page, it doesn't matter whether it is at the top or at the bottom. Then save the page. -- Toshio Yamaguchi 22:30, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, when creating a username, all it says is Create an account / Joining Wikipedia is free. / Username (help me choose) - and then a box to enter a username. It would help to add a sentence after the username box "Is this your or someone else's real name? Please see WP:REALNAME." Apteva (talk) 04:45, 27 December 2012 (UTC)
- When you click on help me choose, you are directed to WP:Username policy which warns of the dangers of using your real name. Hack (talk) 14:32, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
Hide/Remove "Editing Wikipedia..." Link
editHow to hide/remove "Editing Wikipedia..." link on top of every page? It wasn't there before but suddenly it popped out. Thanks for help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rakbarn (talk • contribs) 22:28, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi there. I do not believe there is an approach to removing the "Editing Wikipedia" notice from the page. The best you can do is close the banner, and then it should stay closed with just the saying there. That is the only action that can be taken I'm afraid. Adding a Few United Nations Millenium Development Goals (ie Under-5 Mortality Rate, % Access to Improved Sanitation, % Access to Improved Water Sources, etc) to Country Pages Sidebars
editI wasn't sure where to post a suggestion for Wikipedia, maybe someone will bump this suggestion to appropriate place.
Maybe Wikipedians might consider adding a few UN Decennial Development Goals to the sidebar of Country pages, for instance, under the heading 'Population', such as:
<H69><a href="http://apps.who.int/gho/data/#" target="_blank">World Health Statistics</a></H69> (1) <a href="http://apps.who.int/gho/data?theme=main&vid=1320" target="_blank">Under-5 Mortality (Rate)</a> \t [VALUE] (VALUE) (2) <a href="http://apps.who.int/gho/data?theme=main&vid=590" target="_blank">Access to Improved Water Sources (% pop., 2010)</a> \t [VALUE] (3) <a href="http://apps.who.int/gho/data?theme=main&vid=590" target="_blank">Access to Improved Sanitation (% pop., 2010)</a> \t [VALUE] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.153.48.10 (talk) 23:02, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
- Done. I re-posted your suggestion here. -Thibbs (talk) 20:43, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
