This has confused many people and there is a proposal to remove the wiki: prefix at meta:Talk:Interwiki map#Wiki. c2.com already has three other prefixes with names that don't cause confusion. To save you trying to understand that rather unobvious discussion: no, this site is not supposed to have everything in the world on it, for two reasons. 1) because it's created by volunteers, who write about what interests them. There are huge numbers of things that could be in it but aren't yet; and 2) because it is supposed to contain only subjects which are notable, which means that other reliable sources have already written about them (If none have, then it is not possible to write a reliable article on the subject, and Wikipedia doesn't want an unreliable article). That article was deleted on the latter grounds: not enough had been written by reliable sources independent of the subject, so it is not possible to write a reliable article on it. --ColinFine (talk) 16:32, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Does anyone know of any active Japanese speaking editors?

I came across Russian classical music, which is mostly unsourced while the Japanese version is listed as a GA. I took a look through Category:User ja, but I didn't see anyone who I knew was active. Commas in long numbers

Mhm, that page says "In scientific articles, particularly those directed to an expert readership, numbers may be delimited with thin spaces.", so it seems in Mersenne prime those thin spaces could also be used. I am asking, because there is a lot of inconsistency in that article and I'd like to unify that. The choice between commas and thin spaces is also a matter of Engvar - Commas are predominant in US publications while thin spaces are more commonly used in some other countries. Roger (talk) 21:33, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

We should abide by MOS:NUM of course but just for the curious ... The Oxford Guide to Style (2002) p. 123 states "In nontechnical work, use commas to separate numbers into units of three, starting from the right: 2,016,523,354 £2,200 or $9,999.50" and "This comma is usually dropped in technical and scientific work, and a thin space [HTML  ] is inserted for five-figure numbers and so on: 42 200, 4 200 000". The Bold and the Beautiful wiki page

Hi there,

There is an error on the Bold and the Beautiful Wikipedia page. Under "external links" it lists the DVD release table, however this should appear in the DVD section under "distribution", however the table will not move from "external links" section. When editing the DVD section, the table appears (in edit mode only) Very weird! Football programmes

I need to know if I am ok to upload football programme articles and newspaper clippings. I cannot see any copyright on football programmes. Is this classed as free to upload? I need the articles to back up my work.

They are almost certainly copyrighted even if they do not bear a copyright notice. But you do not need the file to be uploaded to use the publication as a source. Just use the {{Cite news}} template, using as many of the fields as you can so that a reader can find the publication in, say, a library, if they wish to verify what it says.--ukexpat (talk) 01:45, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Redlands High School location is incorrect.

When I type in Redlands High School on facebook, the wikipedia article page come up first on top. Am I the only one who has noticed it says Sydney, Australia on there? I tried to go to edit the page on wiki, but when I go there, I cannot see even one reference to anything about Sydney, Australia. So, will someone please take a look at this and fix it please? I have never edited a wiki page before and am not sure if I would know how anyways. I find it disturbing that when someone might look up Redlands High School on facebook then see the false location listing they might be thrown off. Many Facebook pages copy some of their content from Wikipedia but not the Location field. I don't know how Facebook generates location information but they sometimes get it wrong. Using WikiSource For Victoria County History

I've been able to get the WikiSource entry for the DNB article on John Wolley (MP) to show up properly as an article reference, but I can't seem to get this Wikisource entry for a page in the Victoria History of Surrey to show up properly as a reference [*{{Wikisource-inline|http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Page:The_Victoria_History_of_the_County_of_Surrey_Volume_3.djvu/577].
