Knut Folkerts

edit

Hello, I wanted to translate this article from dewiki to enwiki, but it did not work because there is a redirect to Red Army Faction, i could not receive a red 'Knut Folkerts'. Thanks--Buchbibliothek (talk) 07:27, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what you're asking. There is a Knut Folkerts article but it is very very short. †Dismas†|(talk) 08:12, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There was a missunderstanding, but i could solve the problem. Thanks--Buchbibliothek (talk) 22:03, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you look at the history, Dismas, you'll see that the content (replacing the previous redirect) was written after the question was posted here. Presumably the questioner worked out how to do it. --David Biddulph (talk) 10:48, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Nagarjunpujari. Assuming you mean you want to create an article about this person, I recommend you start with WP:Your first article and WP:COI. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:04, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing errors on Silverthorne, Colorado

edit

Reference help requested. I got an error report on my edits to the Silverthorne, Colorado article but I don't understand the error message. And so, I don't know how to resolve the error. Can you help? Thanks, 69.7.123.121 (talk) 09:11, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have used a ref name without assigning that name to an actual reference. Write the first instance of the ref <ref name="XXX">reference content</ref>. Then if you wish to use the same ref again then you only need type <ref name="XXX"/>. Eagleash (talk) 09:20, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan E. Gatti - Page Deletion

edit

I was doing research on our local senators in Louisiana, something I've done before, and noticed that the page for Senator Ryan Eugene Gatti of District 36 is missing. Can you please tell me where it went? Who deleted it? And why? Thank you for your help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ankirkhart (talkcontribs) 14:12, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Ankirkhart: Please sign your post by typing four tildes (~~~~) or clicking the signature button above the edit box which looks like this:  . Do NOT sign in articles. :To find the specific reason your page was deleted:
  1. Go to the Deletion Log
  2. Type the page title in the case-sensitive search field
  3. The date, time and reason for deletion will be displayed
Since I do not know what the exact title of the page you are talking about, I cannot perform the above steps.Pppery (talk) 14:21, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
See[1] It was created by a banned or blocked user in violation of their ban. --S Philbrick(Talk) 14:25, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) The article was deleted on July 12 under speedy deletion criterion G5, as it had apparently been created (on April 1 of this year) by a sockpuppet of the indefinitely banned user Billy Hathorn. If you want a copy of the text, perhaps with a view to recreating the article, the deleting admin, Ohnoitsjamie, may be willing to supply one if you ask on his talk page. Since, however, the query above is the very first edit of the Ankirkhart account, Ohnoitsjamie may want to make sure that you're not another Hathorn sockpuppet. Book Creation

edit

Wikipedia "create books" is a great aid to study a topic. I have some questions about working with the tool.

How can I have more that one book? Divide a large book into smaller books? Add a category to titles. The popup for create a book, offers to delete the current book and start a new one. Is the book really deleted? This is very unclear. If I have a book in process, but wish to switch to another what happens to the book in-process? If a book is saved, how can it be recalled to edit? How can pages be added to a book. Like an introduction, chapter overview. Convert a page's footnotes into a book's endnote? Keep page URL in pdf? Timestamps on versions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Resipso (talkcontribs) 14:56, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please use a descriptive title in future questions.
Also, please sign your post by typing four tildes (~~~~) or clicking the signature button above the edit box which looks like this:  . Do NOT sign in articles. Pppery (talk) 15:02, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bad title, please help

edit

QUESTION: I have been working on a page FORREC and noticed that I made it with the wrong title rules, aka all capitals. I did that with a previous article too, Funworld Magazine, but thankfully someone switched it for me. I don't know how to fix this and no one has caught it to fix it yet. Please help. - ThemeParkFan1988b (talk) 18 August 2016 (UTC)

How does the company style itself? Does it use all caps. in its literature etc. As it seems to be a type of acronym and the logo has caps, is it certain that upper-case is incorrect? Eagleash (talk) 16:34, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
They for sure style themselves with all caps, it is all over their website and most of the press about them as FORREC and not Forrec. It isn't really an acronym, more like a Portmanteau it is a merger of two words, "FORREC means For Recreation" according to the hr part of the website, and I have read this detail in articles about them as well. I didn't think it was allowed in the title even if that is the way it is written normally - when I did Funworld Magazine page originally I had made it FUNWORLD Magazine but that got changed and now it is just mentioned in the first line of text that it is stylized in all caps. ThemeParkFan1988b (talk) 16:57, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You can move the page yourself by clicking on the move link on the page. Pppery (talk) 17:08, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) If you wish, you can move the page yourself by clicking the 'More' tab at the top. & then word the lead to reflect the corporate style. Funworld looked wrong as it mixed upper & lower case. If you leave it as it is another editor may decide to move it at some future date. (Or not). Eagleash (talk) 17:13, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Koga is a dab page. I'm trying to disambiguate links to it, but there are four articles (Cyclingteam Jo Piels, List of Mitsubishi–Jartazi rosters, Mitsubishi–Jartazi, and SEG Racing Academy) where I cannot find any instances of the word "koga". Yet all four link to the dab page itself (not to redirects). I have searched the source and looked for content in templates that might have the link. Nothing. Some use is made of Wikidata, and I tried looking over there to see if I could find anything. Since all the articles have to do with European cycling teams, and because there is a Dutch brand of bicycles called KOGA, I thought maybe there was a team member whose former team was sponsored by Koga. I did not finish going through the list; I got fed up and decided to try to get some help. Any ideas? — Gorthian (talk) 21:57, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've had a brief look and couldn't find anything myself. Suggest asking on the talk page at WP:WPDAB as an extra source for advice. douts (talk) 22:32, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ref 2 is all wrong - it is from a magazine - NOT newspaper - Please fix Srbernadette (talk) 23:15, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the problem here. The citation uses {{cite web}} which is perfectly acceptable. If you want to change it to {{cite magazine}} please do it yourself. --Majora (talk) 23:17, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
