Page move
editHello! I am trying to help editor Ptarry get his article: David E. Shaner into shape. The editor has recreated his draft on the article talk page, and I would like to move it into a dedicated draft space. The "move" function does not have a "draft" button. Any suggestions how to accomplish a dedicated draft space for this? My own idea involves creating a draft page, and cutting and pasting to it from the article talk page. I don't want to be TOO BOLD. Ideas? Thanks in advance! Hamster Sandwich (talk) 15:36, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Hamster Sandwich (and Ptarry): I have moved it to Draft:David E. Shaner. I don't know why you didn't see the "Draft" space when you tried to move it: did you scroll down? Talk:David E. Shaner/Temp still exists as a redirect to it, but I don't think that matters too much. --ColinFine (talk) 16:02, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks ColinFine! I did scroll.. there were various options, but "draft" was not among them. Additionally, I was surprised that I even have a move button. I recently received "See Pending Changes" permissions, but I was not aware page moves were covered by that function. It is logical though. If you are able to see my contrib.s, Page Move was never something I engaged in before. All the best! Hamster Sandwich (talk) 16:09, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Hamster Sandwich: The Move button goes with Autoconfirmed privilege which you've had for years. The Draft option is about 2/3 of the way down the dropdown list (after Category, Portal, and Book). —teb728 t c 18:27, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
