editA Notable Current Event?
editReally, why is this stuck on the Current Events Portal, with seemingly no way to get rid of it?
"Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia, has displayed the correct base stats for most Kalos Pokémon on their articles for the past 5 years and 2 months. It's supreme bullshit that base stats were determined just 12 days after the games' release while Litleo's gender ratio was not known until three years later, even though they are both hidden data, AFAIK. Even the claim that the shiny Pokémon rate had been increased, was not confirmed until November 18, 2013, about five weeks after the games' release. (The Guardian)"
Just sayin'.159.83.54.2 (talk) 20:56, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

- 74.104.137.240 has been adding Pokémon crap to daily pages like Portal:Current events/2018 December 24. It has been reverted and the IP has been blocked. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:45, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Requesting for approval
editHello,
Please i need some assistance please kindly approve this page for me: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Michael_Oluwanifemi
Thank you so much — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mike.nifemi (talk • contribs) 00:51, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hellom, Mike.nifemi. You have made no substantial edits to Draft:Michael Oluwanifemi since it was declined by KJP1 six months ago. If you were to submit it for review again, you would probably get the same response, together with the reviewer's annoyance at you for wasting their time. Please read your first article and autobiography, and understand that Wikipedia has essentially no interest in what the subject knows, thinks, or says, and no interest in what a random person on the internet knows, thinks, or says, but is only interested in what people who have no connection to the subject have chosen to publish about the subject in professionally published sources. --ColinFine (talk) 01:12, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
I'm here since 2013 and I'm not listed / José Ney
editGood evening and happy Christmas. It is only to know what I must do to appear on the list. I'm here since 2013 and I'm not listed. Thank you very much for your cooperation ... congratulations ...
Jose Ney — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jose ney (talk • contribs) 04:09, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Jose ney: Season's greetings! Please clarify what list you are referring to? Your only contributions have been to your own userspace or this thread. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (

). Thank you. Eagleash (talk) 06:40, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Jose ney: welcome to the Teahouse and happy Christmas. Articles in the English Wikipedia must be written in English, and must be about subjects that have been written about elsewhere in reliable independent sources (see WP:Notability). Your user page is to tell other editors about yourself and how you intend to contribute to Wikipedia. It will never be indexed by Google and is not an article in the encyclopaedia. You have been on the list of editors for five years, but you have not yet edited an article. Perhaps you are confusing Wikipedia with social media? Best wishes. Dbfirs 07:44, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Can someone fix the release history table? Rhythmic contemporary radio and Urban radio should be under format. This is supposed to be a good article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.184.13.5 (talk) 09:57, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @95.184.13.5:
- What, exactly, is the problem? Also, please do not criticize Wikipedia.
Thanks, CrazyMinecart88 (talk | contribs) 11:58, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Looks like you've managed to fix it now, thank you for that. By the way, CrazyMinecart88, it's okay to criticize Wikipedia to an extent, although of course criticism should be presented clearly and civilly; we're always looking for ways to improve but we sometimes can't do so without people telling us what we can improve. :-) Of course, simply saying "Wikipedia sucks" is completely counterproductive and not appropriate, but making suggestions like these, imo, is actually helpful.--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 15:18, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @SkyGazer 512:
- I have read the above message. I will reply when I have a moment.
Autoconfirmed
editHi, I'm pretty sure that I'm autoconfirmed, but I'm not in the list!
Thanks, CrazyMinecart88 (talk | contribs) 12:25, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Which List do you take? confirmed is not the same as autoconfirmed. Victor Schmidt (talk) 12:44, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hi CrazyMinecart88, if you're looking at the list of confirmed users, you won't be there; as Victor mentioned above, these are two separate user rights. There isn't really a list of autoconfirmed users on the basic Wikipedia AFAIK, although you could probably create one with JavaScript, as autoconfirmed is considered more of a "flag" rather than a group that editors are actually placed in. However, you can confirm that you're autoconfirmed by looking at your user rights (the log entry adding you to the autoconfirmed group isn't listed, but you can see "Implicit member of: Autoconfirmed users"). Does this answer your question or do you have any more questions?--SkyGazer 512 Oh no, what did I do this time? 15:11, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Fix my user talk header
editA recent post at this page ended with a brilliant improvement to the top of Wikipedia:Bureaucrats, which I had mangled.
Could someone do something similar to my user talk please? --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 14:50, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Dweller: Me again! Is that better? I removed two {{clear}} templates. -- John of Reading (talk) 15:00, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, so much better, thank you. Now it's just ugly, rather than actually offputting. You star. Happy whatever it is you're celebrating in Reading. --Dweller (talk) Become old fashioned! 15:12, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Twinkl
editHi, I wondered if you could help I've edited the Twinkl Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkl and I would like some feedback if possible regarding on whether the orphan and advert alert can now be removed. If not, can you please provide some additional advise/links for me to review. I really appreciate your help! Merry Christmas to whoever responds! Recent events template
editHow do I add a template to a page indicating that the article is based around recent events? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.77.213.58 (talk) 19:20, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- I'm a little unclear about your query. If you think that an article has too much emphasis on recent events and too little about earlier events, {{recentism}} is what you want. If I'm misinterpreting you, you may want to look at the other templates listed at Wikipedia:Template messages/General#Timing-related messages to see if any of them meets your needs. Logo
editUpdates needed to Smart Foodservice logo and store count? 66 stores and where can I send the logo?
Thanks, Courtney Hadfield — Preceding unsigned comment added by DylanTrain123 (talk • contribs) 20:28, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @DylanTrain123: After you have disclosed your conflict of interest on your user page, you can make edit requests at Talk:Smart Foodservice, provided you cite some reliable sources for your suggested changes. Do not edit the article directly. Ian.thomson (talk) 20:36, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- @DylanTrain123: Correction, leave it at Talk:Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores instead. Ian.thomson (talk) 20:47, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- I can not figure out how to send/ update logo or even do COI — Preceding unsigned comment added by DylanTrain123 (talk • contribs) 20:58, 24 December 2018
- @DylanTrain123: COI disclosure is easy: Just go to your own use page at user:DylanTrain123 and add the sentence "I an an employee or Smart Foodservice" or whatever is the the best description of the relationship. Logo is a bit harder, but please start by adding a link to wherever the logo resides on the web: add that link to a new section on the article's talk page together with a {{request edit}}, and perhaps someone will handle this for you. If you do not get a response that way, come back here. Please give it a couple of days, since we are all volunteers and it's Christmas Eve. -Arch dude (talk) 01:54, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
