delete Indiana oxygen

Dear Wikipedia team,

I received message about the deletion of Indiana oxygen. Actually, I wrote this page without any promotional and commercial purpose. I am an university student and one of my assessment is to create a new article on Wikipedia. Could you please cancel the deletion?

Somebody created Indiana Oxygen. It got a G11 speedy deletion. With the following comment:

@SHANNI DU:Regardless of your intentions, the result appeared to the deleting editor to be unambiguous advertising. This is a matter of presentation, not of your intent. As a separate issue, we already have an article about Indiana Oxygen Company. Is this the same subject? If so, You should expand that article rather than starting a new one. "Step 0" in starting a new article is to see if an article already exists. Since you are not yet an experienced editor, you should create any new article as a draft and submit it for review. This saves a lot of grief. A good way to start is to find a good article on a similar subject and study its form and especially its tone. You really do need to read and follow the guidance at your first article. I suggest that you do not request a copy of your initial attempt, but start over. As a learning experience, here is what I hope you learned: Any large collaborative project will evolve a set of formal or informal rules, and you must learn those rules to participate effectively. -Arch dude (talk) 03:23, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why is last row in table dark gray but others aren't?

At GeForce 20 series#Chipset table I have tried to clean up some additions to the table but the last row is still in dark gray. I don't immediately see the parameter that made the other rows lighter gray. Thanks. —DIYeditor (talk) 03:00, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The last row is defined as a header row (cells beginning with !), whereas the other rows are normal (cells beginning with |). I suggest that you read Help:Table. --David Biddulph (talk) 07:09, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks. I should have read the help but I wasn't noticing the difference - someone else added that last row and I was just trying to fix the spanning. I have shied away from tables up till this point but after doing one from scratch in my user space it doesn't seem too complicated to do. —DIYeditor (talk) 07:17, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Review of article draft for Notability Requirement

Translation from Wikipedia in other languages

I want to write a new article for the English Wikipedia which is largely a translation of an article in the Hebrew Wikipedia. I have seen other places where articles are marked as translated from other Wikipedias, but cannot seem to find in Help any instructions for doing so. I’d be grateful for any references to places in Help related to this topic. (I’ve written a few new articles already, including one that was chosen for Do you know..., so I’m familiar with the basics of article-writing in general.) Thanks very much. Davidhof, the template you are looking for is in the guidance at Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. Bear in mind that criteria vary between Wikipedias, and in general are often stricter here in terms of copyright rules, promotion and referencing. I'm not familiar with Hebrew, but I've deleted translation from eg German on copyright grounds because they allow copying from sources that don't permit commercial use, whereas we don't. Fleet rewrite

Hi, On the Nu-Venture article (at Nu-Venture#History) it currently states "Nu-Venture operate a small number of low-floor buses, a quantity of new-to-London 1980s Leyland Titan double-deck buses, converted from dual- to single-door specification, remained up until 2017,[9][10][11]",

I wanted to reword this - In 2015 the Disability Discrimination Act made it illegal for any step-entrance bus to be in public or private service (link)) (I recall the deadline being somewhere between end of 2016 and the start of 2017) meaning by 2017 NVs fleet of step-entrance double deckers had to all be replaced,

I don't quite know how to word all of that in a way that doesn't ramble on and in a way that makes sense so I was hoping someone could do the honours for me please?,

There are no sources confirming any of this for any bus operator but up until 2016-2017 all of the major operators were still using a mixture of step-entrance and low floor buses,

Hello @Theklan:, I have actually installed 2 tools for this purpose - just to be on the safe side ;). A small tool is available at User:Dschwen/highlightredirects.js, a more complex tool with additional visibility for almost all kinds of links is User:Anomie/linkclassifier.js. You can find the installation code for both tools in my User:GermanJoe/vector.js page. More detailed information about the Anomie tool is available at User:Anomie/linkclassifier. Question about Infobox for people

In the "known for" section, should only the recent endeavors of a person be listed, or can former endeavors be listed as well? If they can be listed, it should only be the present-day position of that person, yeah? i.e. current CEO of xyz, co-founder of zyx rather than current CEO of xyz, co-founder and CEO of zyx (if this person was in the past and was technically known for being a CEO) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.175.168.157 (talk) 20:42, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Include all their endeavors, past and present - notability is not temporary. For past positions, you could include them in past tense (assuming they're relevant and notable) - for example, you could say abc is CEO of xyz and co-founder and former CEO of zyx. @LittlePuppers: I have to nitpick here. We should certainly mention every significant endeavour (not the college rock band, but still things that do not give notability all by themselves) somewhere in the article; not necessarily always in the same place however. For instance, the lead of our article about Elon Musk does not mention Zip2, even though it would probably have been the most prominent thing if we had had an article in 2000. Fair point, Tigraan - being concise is also important, and the lead should be limited to a brief overview including the few most notable endeavors, and that is something that changes over time - in 2000, there were far fewer other notable things to mention about Musk.
