AfC reviewer moving a draft into a pre-existing redirect

edit

Hello, this is Utopes! I'm a new AfC reviewer, but did not want to ask on said page because that is reserved to new editors who need help with their first articles. I was attempting to accept this draft into mainspace, however I am prevented from doing so because there is a redirect that already exists in its place. Is there a way to move a Draft onto a redirect? I would assume not, as a redirect is still an article in mainspace. So my next question is, is there a way to remove the redirect without Page Mover rights or Sysop rights? And if not, how should I go about situations such as these? Utopes (talk) 02:50, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would ask a page mover at WP:RM#TR, or tag the redirect with Template:Db-move, a special case of CSD G6. ~~ OxonAlex - talk 06:39, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Utopes: Per WP:MOR, if a redirect has no history, you can move over it. If it has some history, either it is not significant (then, see OxonAlex's answer), or it is significant, and you probably need to perform a round-robin move. The latter can only be performed by page movers (or by asking at RM#TR). If you are involved in AfC, you might be eligible to request that permission (at WP:PERM). Marketing Operations & Marketing Performance Management pages deleted

edit

Hello,

I am writing to inquire about these two pages being deleted. It looks like after a short discussion, an editor named Sandstein deleted them. Some questions please:

1. Why were these two deleted?

2. Can we get a copy of these deleted pages? (I already looked in the archives and could not find them)

3. What changes are recommended so we can correct them and get them reinstated?

4. What is the process for getting them reinstated or do we just start anew?

Some historical info: These two pages were a collaboration of about 20 marketing ops leaders done over several months. There was much healthy debate to get these developed by consensus so no one person owned the definition and the industry could rely on them to help set industry standards. These were done when marketing ops and marketing performance management were new, budding concepts. They probably could even use some updates, so this might be a good opportunity to do that.

Thank you,

The article was deleted after an Articles for Deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marketing performance measurement. To answer your questions: (Also be aware I can't see the deleted article)
1. The article was deleted as it is a neologism, per WP:NOTNEO.
2. Some admins may email you deleted articles, but this is unlikely if it is perceived that you indent to resubmit the article without major changes.
3 & 4. You may wish to read No amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability. As your article was deleted as not suitable for an encyclopedia, it is unlikely that the topic in question is suitable, no matter how good the article.
In your case, you would need to demonstrate that the term is not a neologism, by showing frequent use in reliable, independent, sources.

There;s also a problem with your username, "MOPsplus". It looks suspiciously like it comes from "the Marketing Ops society", and if so is in breach of our policy on usernames implying shared use. Please have a read of the whole username policy (WP:USERNAME). It is also possible that there is a conflict of interest issue and from the way that you sign there might be paid to edit. You should review both policies. Martin of Sheffield (talk) 08:50, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been updating a number of external links that were originally added by other contributors as the original links are no longer valid. I have also added some new external links for consistency. The topics are biographies on deceased persons buried at Brighton General Cemetery. Wikipedia has flagged this action is in possible breach as I am adding too many. Any advice? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BGCemetery (talkcontribs) 10:10, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@BGCemetery: Slow down and make sure the link is relevant and has good information. It's a rate limit for new users to protect against spamming. If you work at the cemetary then see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. PrimeHunter (talk) 11:30, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How to make company page on Wiki

edit

Please suggest how i can make our company page on wiki

Company name is TechRyde , we are in USA, Australia and India. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahalsandeep (talkcontribs) 12:03, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

First mind multiple independent sources (ie NOT your company's publications or interviews) that talk about your company. Next read WP:COI and WP:PAID. Then go to WP:FIRST for advice. You should not normally edit the page directly, but put in an edit request for other, disinterested, editors to consider. Remember that it is an article about your company, not your company's page. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~. Or, you can use the [ reply ] button, which automatically signs posts.) Martin of Sheffield (talk) 13:19, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Mahalsandeep: A quick Google search doesn't show any media coverage for an article. Sorry, but I recommend that you save yourself the time and effort. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 22:09, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page banner code question

edit

I have a technical question related to the template code that generates WikiProject banners on talkpages. Any experienced editor knowledgeable in that area willing to spend some time helping me out? UnitedStatesian (talk) 14:55, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
