editArticle page name editing
editCould you edit article’s name? 2601:244:4081:500:172:43E7:CA34:B014 (talk) 01:25, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Article name changes are done by moving the article. See WP:MOVE for more info. RudolfRed (talk) 01:50, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The process for changing an article's name is at WP:Moving a page. - David Biddulph (talk) 01:54, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- You need to be logged in and autoconfirmed to move a page. RPI2026F1 (talk) 03:26, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Good point. Requests can be posted to WP:RM RudolfRed (talk) 03:34, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
User Talk Page Editing
editMy user talk page has become cluttered with outdated comments. I'm embarrassed to say so, but I've forgotten how to get rid of them. Help! Lou Sander (talk) 02:37, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Lou Sander: You may delete the comments on your user talk page if you want to, or you can archive the page using one of the methods at Help:Archiving_a_talk_page RudolfRed (talk) 02:52, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Help:Archiving (plain and simple) is a shorter version. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:10, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, but how do I delete the comments? Lou Sander (talk) 23:57, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
publish my article
edithi, i had just written the article and push the button"publish changes", however, i can not search the article anywhere, neither in google nor in wikipedia, why?
Nicoleahua (talk) 10:27, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- You have not written an article. You wrote a user page, but the content is not appropriate for a user page. Before trying to write an article, please read WP:Your first article. - David Biddulph (talk) 10:30, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- hi, why the content is not appropriate for a user page and where should i write the article in? Nicoleahua (talk) 10:36, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Your user page content has now been moved to Draft space and submitted for review. Your user page is a place to tell about yourself as a Wikipedia editor or user, it is not a place to write an article and is not searchable by search engines. Do you have a particular interest in what you write being searchable? 331dot (talk) 10:43, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- yes i do, what should i do if i want the public can search the article i had written Nicoleahua (talk) 10:52, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- I have declined your draft as it seems to rely on Linkedin.com rather too much and that is not a reliable source. Theroadislong (talk) 10:57, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- What is your interest in the draft being searchable? Are you associated with the person you wrote about? 331dot (talk) 11:00, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- yes i do, i work for him, should i mention it specifically? Nicoleahua (talk) 11:05, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Please read the paid editing policy and make the required declaration on your user page. This is a Terms of Use requirement and mandatory. 331dot (talk) 11:10, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

- and where is the exact place to write the article and publish it so that everyone can search the name johnson yeh on google and wikipedia Nicoleahua (talk) 11:03, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The page has been moved to draft as noted above; if you cannot see it, go via your contributions (link at top right) where you should see it listed as *Draft: (title)*. That is the preferred place to create a new item. When it is completed and you have complied with all the necessary requirements, it can be submitted for review. After passing that stage it is still subject to new page patrol and will not be indexed by search engines for 90 days or patrol has been completed, whichever comes first. Eagleash (talk) 14:06, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Note that Wikipedia is not interested in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable sources. You should probably remove all the citations to press releases (such as the Cointelegraph piece and the Bloomberg one) as well as to LinkedIn, and remove from the draft any information which is not cited to an independent source. Editing references in source mode
editHello there,
Could you help me to figure out how to edit the reference list in source mode? I want to make the required changes to the dates, but am not having any luck with getting into the correct screen to do so. Thanks and have a great day!! OneHealthVet (talk) 15:50, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The references are not normally in the Reference list in source mode, but are embedded in the text where they are cited. If you want to edit a reference, pick the caret by it to go to the place in the text where it is used, and edit that section. ColinFine (talk) 16:30, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
ECDL/ICDL outdated profile
editI would really appreciate it if the ICDL profile https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Computer_Driving_Licence could be updated. The company has changed a great deal and the logo is very old, and also there are also a number of incorrect claims as the references included go back 20 years. I would be grateful if you could refer to https://icdl.org/about-us/ or I would be happy to supply correct text directly if that is easier. Many thanks in advance, Bronwen Daly Head of Marketing and Communications BDalyICDL (talk) 15:54, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- BDalyICDL We don't have "profiles", we have articles. Please see your user talk page for important information that I will post there about formal disclosures you must make, and for information on how you may contribute. 331dot (talk) 16:00, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
Gateway Pundit smear
editMore than one point of view should be offered, and the one up now is a declaritive, as if unquestionable accurate. I will add to it, but have no idea how to remove the damning statements made by the writer whose description is up now. 2601:342:8200:66B0:0:0:0:D636 (talk) 18:06, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- Presumably this is about The Gateway Pundit; the article is indefinitely semi-protected. IP user, you will need to make edit requests on the talk page, here. You should probably review our sourcing requirements and be prepared to make arguments (based on our policies) for why the sources currently being used are bad, and why the ones you provide, if any, are better. 199.208.172.35 (talk) 18:14, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
Hello, how write this article? What do I need to find? СтасС (talk) 18:07, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- You've already found one reliable independent published source that discusses Wormser. The first and most important thing you need to find is a few more sources like that, preferably with rather more discussion of him. Then you can base an article on what they all say. Maproom (talk) 18:16, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- СтасСThe French Wikipedia has more information, but without inline references. If you read French, I'd suggest following to one what seems to be one of the most useful links from there, https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/mn_314paap_wormser_cle8f14e5.pdf Naraht (talk) 18:50, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

simple edit: University of Chicago Laboratory School People
editIn my opinion, (Professor) Charles Fugo, University of South Carolina, should be on this list.
Many years ago I was able to make a simple addition to a Wikipedia entry but it appears this is no longer possible.
I am therefore requesting that someone at Wiki make the change.
Many thanks; love Wiki and encourage friends who have credit cards to donate; at least one has. 96.81.65.225 (talk) 18:37, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- There should be nothing preventing you from making the edit; University of Chicago Laboratory Schools is not protected. However, there would need to be an article about him first. 331dot (talk) 18:43, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
Bibliography
editThere's an article lacking many citations in many sentences but the article has a Bibliography section. Does this mean the sentences are still unsourced? Dr Salvus 20:03, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Dr Salvus: It would be considered a general reference supporting the article instead of an inline citation supporting a specific fact or statement. See WP:IC for more info. RudolfRed (talk) 23:15, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The problem is that I've seen many FAs have this problem. Dr Salvus 23:21, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- There is not anything wrong with general references. Wikipedia:Featured_article_criteria says that inline citations are required where appropriate. You can discuss it on the article's talk page if you think there are citations missing. Also, articles change over time. It is possible that the article once met FA criteria but does not now. I believe there is a process for getting an article regraded, but I am not familiar with it. RudolfRed (talk) 23:27, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

Image resize calculator or resizer
editHi, Do we have any tools that calculate what resolution a non-free file should be?, I don't understand any of what's written at Wikipedia:Non-free_content#Image_resolution so was hoping we had some sort of tool that could do the math for me :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 23:37, 1 December 2022 (UTC)
- The page you linked to contains a link to this tool. Does it do what you want? CodeTalker (talk) 01:19, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
- Bingo that's the one, Thank you very much @CodeTalker much appreciated, Thanks –Davey2010Talk 14:51, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
