Question on Mentioning if a Public Person Speaks Like Another Person

In biographies, can we mention that a public person speaks in the same style of, for example, a character from a television show? The reason I am asking if because, since I am new, I was given a practice edit for an actor from the television series "Scorpion". I wanted to describe the way his character speaks as the way a relatively well-known public person speaks.

Meaning of SIGCOV at NCORP

I've been involved in a deletion discussion where a user presented a number of sources, but what interested me is the meaning of SIGCOV at WP:NCORP, specifically with regards to this article published by The Sunday Times, about a music venue named "the Bird":

IS it The Bird? Yes. Is it plain? No, it’s super fresh.
Sure, this pokey, charmingly DIY room serves drinks from midday, but it’s as much a place for enjoying art and song as it is somewhere to whet the whistle.
The promoters of Friday’s Kanye West concert probably didn’t have The Bird on their venue shortlist, nor are you likely to find a Rembrandt displayed here.
But as an incubator for some of Perth’s more niche artists, The Bird nails it. Psych rockers, quirky illustrators, crate-diggers: these are just some of the people whose handiwork one can admire with a cold – and fairly priced – drink in hand.
A succinct wine list that includes Mitolo pinot grigio ($9 a glass) proves it’s possible, even for venues that aren’t particularly wine-minded, to serve interesting vino at reasonable prices.
The cider and beer range observes a similar mantra with Feral’s Sly Fox summer ale one of four brews available as an $8 pint.
The Bird is also licensed to sell takeaway alcohol, which is handy for revellers keen to kick on once the party’s over.
The bar team, meanwhile, hasn’t gone too crazy with its cocktails, electing instead to stick with dependables such as the Bloody Mary ($17) and Dark ‘n’ Stormy ($20).
Don’t be put off by The Bird’s alternative leanings. Despite championing the non-mainstream, the venue and its staff extend a warm welcome to all, from lone wolves with a midday thirst to parties of dolled-up girls out to paint the town red.
The setting, while sparse, is tidy and clean (except for when smokers light up out the back), the bartenders’ smiles are genuine and The Bird proves originality is alive in Northbridge.

Now, SIGCOV is supposed to not be trivial coverage. The information in the article above is mostly trivial, and the only content that I believe would be acceptable in an article is the fact that the venue (the Bird) exists. But is this what SIGCOV actually means? #Examples of trivial coverage contains a list of trivial coverage that isn't considered to be SIGCOV, but none of the examples match this case. Is a source considered trivial if most of its content cannot be used in an article, or have I got this wrong? Are sources related to corporations and other such entities automatically SIGCOV because they are published in regional newspapers, regardless of their content? Thanks. That doesn't really answer my question. I'm not extending any discussion here; my question is rather simple: can a source that is almost 100% trivial still be SIGCOV with regards to NCORP? I provided that discussion for context, but the question is general. Nythar (💬-🍀) 04:58, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

@Nythar: A better place perhaps to answer a general question like yours is probably at WT:NCORP since that's where any changes or clarifications of WP:CORPDEPTH are going to need to be discussed. Before you do so, however, you might want to search the NCORP's talk page archives first to see whether a similar question has been asked (and answered) before. Now, a question about whether a specific source qualifies as sigcov could be asked on the relevant article's talk page or at WP:RSN, though I suggest trying the article's talk page first. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:24, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

How to change back to Vector skin?

I have a problem with Wikipedia skin. I am using Opera and in Wikipedia, the skin is MinervaNeue but the preferences mentioned that the skin is in Vector. Is there a way to change to Vector properly?

Discussion

I would like to understand why in en.wiki the pages on Italy are, at least apparently, shorter than in it.wiki. I thought it was because, perhaps, in the Wikipedia in Italian language people also tend to write superfluous things. Could you give me an explanation? For goodness' sake, the page on the Italian state ("Italy") is longer than that of the it.wiki (for which I am very very grateful), but many other pages on Italian topics within the Wikipedia in Italian language are richer, at least apparently, than the corresponding pages within en.wiki; you will probably tell me that this is normal, since the it.wiki deals precisely with Italian topics, but en.wiki should be (and in fact is) the richest virtual encyclopaedia in the world, and should therefore also be rich in the pages on Italian topics. @JackkBrown: That's most likely because the English Wikipedia's policies are one of the strictest out of all the languages. A big one is verifiability, which most likely means that a lot of the sources used over on the Italian Wikipedia are not considered reliable enough to be used on here. (edit conflict) In addition to {[u|Tenryuu}}'s point above, text lengths vary enormously between different languages. I know very little Italian, but if I may use a French example compare: "quatre-vingt et cinque pommes de terre" with "eighty-five potatoes" – 38 characters as compared with 20 for exactly the same statement (if there are spelling errors in the French it doesn't alter the argument). Also, Wikipedia articles are written by people, so if an it Wikipedia article is longer than the en Wikipedia equivalent, it means that the authors have decided to add more content to the it article than the en article. That could be because the it authors are more comfortable writing in Italian or more interested in writing for an Italian speaking audience. TSventon (talk) 13:04, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Without having looked, one could safely bet that the article about Giorgia Meloni is longer in Italian than in English, the article about Joe Biden longer in English than in Italian, the article about Emmanuel Macron longer in French than in English, and so on. @Tigraan: I checked and no, I cannot agree with you. Bytes of the page in Wikipedia in Italian language on Giorgia Meloni: 102,947; bytes of the page in Wikipedia in English language on Giorgia Meloni: 246,194 (more than double). On Macron page, however, I can agree with you, but only because the page in the Wikipedia in French language is excessively long (longer than any page in the Wikipedia in English language): 435,699 bytes. Issues with a user lacking WP:COMPETENCE

I have noticed that there is a user with a poor understanding of forms of English other than their own; they keep changing the content of articles tagged "use British English" to American English based on their belief that only American English uses the suffix -ize and claiming that this meant the articles contained no British English. In British English -ize and -ise are both acceptable, and indeed the Oxford English Dictionary exclusively uses -ize (see: Oxford spelling). I'm just wondering what can be done about it. Twice-rejected AfC article was created by different user without attribution: what to do?

I've noticed something strange and wanted to ask what the right venue is to raise this issue: User:JasonWeitz, who has disclosed that they were paid to create an article on David Latimer, created Draft:David_Latimer which was twice rejected in AfC review by @Jamiebuba: first on 5 April 2023, second on 15 April 2023.
Only four days after the second rejection, on 19 April 2023, User:Nutchladsa (SPA whose first action was to create a David Latimer page in their sandbox in February 2023, copied the rejected draft piecewise into their Sandbox and within minutes moved that sandbox article into mainspace.
Around 3 weeks later, JasonWeitz added an image.
A few questions:

• Is it allowed to move previously rejected drafts without mentioning that they had previously been rejected? This seems like an attempt to hide the draft's history and also a violation of copyright/attribution. Nutchladsa hid the fact that the article was created by a paid contributor.
• Which venue would be most appropriate to raise this? I've thought of filing an SPI, but they may not be socks. It is possible that only Nutchladsa violated some policy, but I'm not sure which.

Let's assume good faith for the moment. The new article would have been reviewed by the new page patrollers, who tend to pretty quick to draftify or even reject poor material. creating a new page

I keep adding in the name of the page I want to create but it won't let me create it. Every time it says "you can create this page but first you have to save it as a draft" but it won't let me save as a draft. Aeiscrei (talk) 15:33, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

@Aeiscrei As you are a very new editor here, it might be better to edit a few existing articles before you try the much harder task of creating one. Can you delete a Wikipedia page that you've created?

Can you delete a Wikipedia page that you made yourself? I'm thinking of deleting one of my Wikipedia pages, List of para table tennis tournaments as I feel it's a bit of a waste of space to have on Wikipedia unless it does actually interest other Wikipedia users and viewers who have an interest in para table tennis. @SarahTHunter: No. The page is no longer yours. It belongs to the entire community. You have no more (and no less) authority to delete it than any other editor. You may propose it for deletion if you feel it meets one of the deletion criteria. "Wast of space" is not a criterion. the fundamental criterion is notability. Rollback

Actual rollback is limited to admins and users who have specially gotten permission to use it. Various tools such as Twinkle, some of which are available to autoconfirmed users, emulate the behavior but are technically a different thing. * Pppery * _{it has begun...} 17:19, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Qui seems to be very old and I wouldn't recommend using it. It probably doesn't work on any of its 'supported browsers' anymore due to deprecation and removal of some features. Sungodtemple (talk • contribs) 22:26, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Archiving user talk pages

I was attempting to archive my talk page (diff) when I accidentally set the parameter maxarchivesize to 150 instead of 150k. I have six archives now, but I only want a single one. Retrospectively changing the parameter doesn't fix the issue. Is there a way to solve this? Thanks. Cessaune [talk] 18:57, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

@Cessaune: It has to be cleaned up manually and only an administrator can delete the unwanted archives. I have deleted them and restored the sections to User talk:Cessaune so they can be archived as wanted in the next bot run. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:45, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

Per Wikipedia:Changing username, accounts can't be merged. You could look into a rename, but I'm not sure how well that will go if you don't have access to your old account, though if you have the same email address you may be alright. Date of Death to page?

I found this obituary, but I don't think it's a reliable source, it is a "cremation society". Also note that the date of birth given varies slightly from the one in the James B. Busey IV article (October 2 instead of October 7). @Random person no 362478479 About his birth date, citation 3 states his birth date as October 2, we have another one backing that up, and I also found another one too.
