Wikipedia:Meetup/Corning/Contemporary glass art 2015

The Rakow Research Library (CMoG) and the Southeast Steuben County Library hosted an edit-a-thon on Wednesday, November 12, 2015, focused on improving articles about contemporary artists working in glass.

When and where

Corning Museum of Glass

• When: November 11, 2015, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM EST
• Where: The Education Lab at The Corning Museum of Glass (website), 5 Museum Way, Corning, NY 14830
• Cost: Free
• Participants: No Wikipedia editing experience necessary; tutorials will be provided.
• What to Bring: Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords, if possible. Please create a Wikipedia account before the event.‎

• 1:00 PM - Welcome, lunch, and brief intro to Wikipedia
• 1:45 PM - Explore the contemporary wing
• 2:30 PM - Edit articles about contemporary artists working in glass

Goals

The Contemporary glass art 2015 edit-a-thon will offer a selection of prepared projects for attendees to work on:

1. Build Wikipedia editing skills through tutorials and basic edits.
2. Create and/or expand articles pertaining to contemporary glass art and artists working in glass.

Editing tips

1. Preview your changes before you save them.
2. Write a brief edit summary noting your changes.
3. Don’t forget to use the help bar at the top of the edit box.
4. Sign your posts on talk pages by adding four tildes (~).
