South Korean scandals

The topic is notable (see some related articles at User:The_Transhumanist/Lists_by_country/Political_scandals_of_x), the page might have been a mess, but I'd like to take a look to see if anything can be salvaged. I am asking just for a restoration to my sandbox, so I can review this. -Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:11, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

@Piotrus:   Done to User:Piotrus/South Korean scandals. If you want to use it, talk to The Bushranger, who deleted it after AfD, about undeleting. If you don't, let me know and I will tidy up. JohnCD (talk) 22:10, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

I, Sonyalea11, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Sonyalea11 (talk) 20:09, 22 April 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done Sonyalea11, you removed the tags from the article, which is still existent on Wikipedia. Normally you're not supposed to do that with a speedy deletion, but since this is a G13 this isn't as much of an issue as it would otherwise be. The only thing you need to do at this point is work on improving the article. I do have to warn you that Wikipedia discourages people from writing about themselves on Wikipedia, even through AfC, so I heavily recommend that you get someone from the WP:TEAHOUSE to help you write the article. I may take a look at the article to see if I can help clean it up. Now the other warning I have is that if the article is cleaned up and accepted, you should not edit it to re-add information to the article or do anything other than maybe make some very basic edits like adding new books to a list. The reason for this is that your AfC draft almost got nominated for deletion as spam - but the declining editor decided to give you a chance. Adding a lot of info to the page makes it more likely that you may make it promotional, which can result in the page getting nominated for deletion. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:17, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

IFC Channel article on Billy Corgan that touches on Robby Starbuck's work http://www.ifc.com/2011/07/billy-corgan-and-the-fools-journey-part-1

I searched online to find his YouTube page has nearly 100 million views and 100,000 subscribers. This rationally tells me that his work is notable to many people.

From the previous citations on the deleted page page his work for Smashing Pumpkins, Akon, Eve, Sarah Bareilles, Megadeth, Snoop Dogg, Shiny Toy Guns and Metric is notable by community standards. He has been nominated for the best video music video award at the MMVA's on Much Music in Canada, Best Rock video & Best Video with a message at the MTV VMA's as well which was cited on the old page.

I believe in total the notability is very much established. Note the length of time this page was active with users updating & adding additional news/entries and pages for the name "Robby Starbuck" are included on various foreign countries wiki or encyclopedia sites.

Not done, nothing to do, article is not deleted (yet). @Readoffon: "Genuineness" is not a criterion for inclusion on Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Notability (people) for further information. Reasoning: There are no e-news articles available for the time frame of 2004-2009 as the local and national daily newspaper did not had this facility at that time. @Smackyneha: "Authenticity" is not a criterion for inclusion in Wikipedia. In this case see WP:NBOX for inclusion criteria.
Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Neha Rathore, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Anthony Bradbury (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:18, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

@Kharkiv07:   Not done and will not be done. You will have to respond to that ORTS ticket that we will absolutely not restore that content regardless of their permission. It wasn;t deleted just for copyright violation. The text is so promotional in tone that it would never be acceptable in the main article space. They need to be told clearly and unequivocally that Wikipedia is not to be used for promotional or publicity purposes, ever. If they want to try again from scratch, they may do so, but not in main article space. Because they clearly have a conflict of interest regarding themselves, the only realistic venue for them to submit an article is at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:29, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

Writing about oneself on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged - see Wikipedia:Autobiography. If, after reading that, you still want to write about yourself, you should read WP:Your first article and then use WP:Articles for creation to guide you through the process of making a draft. If it is to be accepted, it will need to cite references showing references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject," to show how you meet the WP:Notability standard of WP:CREATIVE. The file was moved to commons and deleted from EN:WP 23 June 2012. This and several other files have been deleted because of Commons:Deletion requests/Files in Category:Kylie Minogue text logos but this file is used on EN:WP as the portal image so I noticed the missing file flagged on several pages. Could it be checked if it would be allowable to be refunded here under the local rules? Obviously this is just a speculative request as I don't know what the image was exactly or the license details to determine if this is an allowable request. Per OTRS Ticket#2016041110023257, the permission was already sent at April 11, and is valid (but Explicit deleted the file regadress the uploader's Talk page has {{OTRS pending}}). Please restore to be transferred to Commons. -Amitie 10g (talk) 02:37, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

@Amitie 10g: The permission is not valid. I would want more than a permission from some random gmail account before restoring. The declaration of consent was sent by the uploader, but the deleted file page says that "Suzanne Stone Johnson" (someone else) gave permission for the image, which would mean that the uploader is not the photographer who holds the copyright.
There may not be a problem, though, since the OTRS message says it's a photo of Alfred E. Stone who died in 1908, so the photo is at least 70 years old (and it would be unlikely that the photographer is still alive to give permission). Therefore it may be public domain, but I am not sure (there may be a dependency on whether the photo was previously published). If we can get that point clarified, it should be no problem to restore. ~Amatulić (talk) 04:02, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
Update: the term of copyright is "life of the author plus 70 years." If the photographer has been deceased for at least 70 years, then the photo would be public domain. ~Amatulić (talk) 04:12, 25 April 2016 (UTC)

There is no requirement for references to be online, but you must still cite them, and if it's mentioned only in that one book, the club still wouldn't qualify under WP:CORP, which requires multiple sources that provide significant coverage, not just a profile in a niche-topic encyclopedia whose purpose is to describe everything about Polo in Britain, even clubs that are not notable by Wikipedia standards.

Now that it's PD, I must upload possibly bigger size to Commons. -George Ho (talk) 06:14, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

@George Ho: Why? It seems big enough for something so simple. And why report it here? It isn't deleted, so there's nothing to undelete. ~Amatulić (talk) 06:25, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
Wait, isn't there a larger revision? If not, then my apologies. --George Ho (talk) 06:29, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
The deleted version isn't any larger; it just has an opaque white background. —Cryptic 06:34, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
@George Ho: I restored it anyway. It's just 3 pixels larger and sort of fuzzy, hardly worth the effort to restore. ~Amatulić (talk) 06:35, 26 April 2016 (UTC)

The Salsa Center

21:39, 28 February 2014 Smalljim (talk | contribs) deleted page The Salsa Center (A7: Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject).

What little I know about The Salsa Center Company is that for a brief time in the mid-90's it offered a very well curated catalog of rare post-Revolution Cuban music, licensed from Egrem. To this day, much of the music they made available is difficult, even impossible to find in any format other than their CD's (which are long out of print). For this reason alone I think The Salsa Center Company made an important contribution to the preservation and dissemination of a historically significant period in Cuban music when the music was not heard in the United States and presumably other western European nations. I'm curious to learn more about the outfit. I'm most especially hoping to find a catalog of their releases. There is so little else that I've found, I don't know that I could contribute appreciably to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.226.191.123 (talk) 05:50, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done - that company sounds an interesting subject, if sources could be found, but the deleted article was not about it; it was about a "locally owned Dance Studio" in Lexington, Kentucky, started in 2011. JohnCD (talk) 08:35, 27 April 2016 (UTC)

File:AMAA Statuette.jpg

This image was nominated for deletion on a baseless claim of unclear copyright information. The nominator's reason for nominating the image was that "I" said that "Africa Film Academy owns the copyright" and not me. Meanwhile what I said in the link he provided was that I couldn't give the image a free licence, since it is a derivative work. In other words, Africa Film Academy owns the copyright to the statuette, whereas I only own the copyright to the image. This is what the user misinterpreted to mean that I didn't own the image. I initially thought any admin deleting the image would investigate properly before deleting, that was why I just ignored the user's deletion request. Since no one commented, I was thinking the discussion would be closed as no consensus, but the closing admin says otherwise. I already contacted the admin. There have been recent developments in the news that make this article more prominent than ever. I am requesting the article be undeleted so that I might have the chance to edit in these new resources. -Wordsareswords (talk) 05:44, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

@Wordsareswords:   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shiva Thejus, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, since you believe that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Michig (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 08:08, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Draft:Summer Moore

Hollywoodresources (talk) 06:34, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

@Hollywoodresources: The draft has not been deleted. I have added an "Unsubmitted draft" template to the top, which has a "Submit" button you can click to send it for review when it is ready. It could do with better referencing: the first two references do not work for me (I will see whether I can fix them), and IMDb and interviews do not count much towards establishing Wikipedia:Notability, which looks for "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." (IMDb is not considered reliable because user-edited). There are additional numbers in square brackets here and there in your text, which look as though there have been more references in some earlier version. I suggest you add more, if you can, before submitting it for review, because at present it does not seem to me to show notability to the standard required by WP:ENTERTAINER or WP:CREATIVE.
To avoid confusion, I have deleted the earlier version Draft:Summer moore. JohnCD (talk) 08:43, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Kurt Zdesar

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below -UserNameTakenWasTaken (talk) 21:07, 28 April 2016 (UTC) It was deleted stating advertising. Firstly, Kurt has inspired many people in his career especially as he worked his way up from the bottom. He knows what it means to graft and wasnt just handed a pile of money and told go open a business. Sitting with Kurt for just 10 minutes you learn so much about the restaurant business and notably for wikipedia he has launched restaurants we all know. He created concepts and delivered what are now household names. I think its unfair to say its advertising, when it was deleted without even reading his backstory to see how much of an inspiration he is and in times when we all need people we can look up to. People who are successful because they worked their way up, not because it was handed to them.

deleting the page is not just as people love to get behind someone with real values (read about his food beliefs please) and actual ability and have a global name and track record of delivery. This might be my first submission but i am disappointed that it was summarily executed in such a style.

Perhaps it could be restored to a draft so that the style issues can be fixed, as there is a claim of importance in the page. But I am also concerned that it is an infringement of a section on this page: http://content.yudu.com/Library/A2fk2j/PremierHospitalityIs/resources/68.htm. Are there any more independent references available to demonstrate the notability of the topic? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:07, 28 April 2016 (UTC)

Article about tesla ondra was deleted because of not enough sources (?). There should be another source at http://hackaday.com/2014/12/15/home-computers-behind-the-iron-curtain/ and ...
