- Support. Can't see anything obviously wrong. I too was thinking this was probably better than some of the LOH images that have previously gone to FPC, so perhaps think about that later. Showing some ignorance (and laziness :-) ), but does anyone know if this is a 'male' figure, or do females have Testicularis veins/arteries as well? Also assume spellings are correct, those that I know look right, but I don't know them all. --jjron (talk) 13:52, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

- Comment This is a very nice illustration, but all of the text is rendered as paths, which reduces the reusability of this as a vector graphic (and keeps it from being searchable). Would it be possible to create this with the text done as text, so it could be more easily edited or translated by others? Ah, I see now that the nominator is not the creator, perhaps I should ask on the image's talk page. — λ (talk | contribs) 20:18, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed. Wierd, I thought I did this before nomination. I also spotted one spelling mistake while fixing it. "Pulonary veins" was changed to "Pulmonary veins". Anything else? ZooFari 21:12, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

- Support Nezzadar Quite nice, quite nice. My only suggestion is to put a bit more detail into the heart. Concidering that it's pumping is what makes the circulatory system work, showing some surface definition can't hurt. Nezzadar (talk) 18:54, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

- Weak Oppose Nezzadar I really don't like the black text on the dark grey at the top of the image. As it is now, that text is barely readable on one of the two monitors I use. Concider lightening the grey.

- Support per nom, but shouldn't it have been closed at FPC before being nommed here? I don't believe an image should have active noms in both places at once. --jjron (talk) 06:54, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

- Bit of an experiment to see what others think of this concept. Some images are ‘fair use’ meaning they can only be used with certain restrictions. I don’t think this should exclude them from being VPs even though they can’t be displayed as images in the gallery, have restricted article usage, etc (FPC would be unlikely to allow this though). Some of these images have huge EV, far higher than most of the 'historical' images that get voted in at FPC or here. The restricted use probably also won’t please those who think VP value is measured by how many articles an image is used in, as for many it may be a single article. Anyway, as a first try I thought I’d nominate this canonical Black power salute image from the 1968 Mexico Olympics (came to mind after I watched the excellent 2008 Australian documentary Salute last night - get your hands on a copy if you can). Reasons for nominating beyond that are pretty obvious. Vote or comment away.

- One of the most iconic older building in the city of Albany, New York (being built before all other skyscrapers in the city). At one time it represented the strength of the railroads. Today, it represents the strength of the State University of New York and the importance of cheap, public, higher education in New York and the United States. Exceptional piece of architecture, dominating addition to the skyline since its erection, and respected as such, having been added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

- Question. (Without knowing what's there) if you went a few metres to the left wouldn't you avoid having that bush blocking much of the building, and get most of the front façade which looks to contain much of the most interesting architecture? --jjron (talk) 08:06, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- Valid point; hadn't thought of that. I specifically took the photo this way so that the sign was there to indicate what office the building was home to. You can see more images at commons:Category:SUNY System Administration Building. wadester16 02:06, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, that's what I figured (though you could still get the sign from further out left, depending how wide angle your lens goes, and also look through the gap). However when I checked the SUNY System Administration Building article it suggested that it has only served this purpose for about a quarter of its life anyway, so I actually thought that getting the sign in probably isn't as important as getting the building itself. --jjron (talk) 07:55, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

- Comment. It's an elegant and interesting photo, but I'd like to know more about what it's showing (besides the radiation). What is the apparatus, and what is it for? It also might be helpful to explicitly discuss the exposure on the description page: how much light is being produced (and how much power is going through the reactor)? --ragesoss (talk) 15:34, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

- High quality, sinister image of the species. Valuable, as it shows the animal accompanied by remoras, and the only image in the article. Comfortably our best image of the species. Focus is good, but it is not quite at the technical level required for FPC. Note the image has been in the article longer than it appears as, previously, the same image with a small watermark was used. A version without the in-file credit was then uploaded.
