WikiProject Limnology and Oceanography is a group of editors who aim to improve the reliability and accuracy of Wikipedia pages relating to the study of inland waters and marine environments. If you would like to contribute, please add yourself as a participant in the project, inquire on the talk page, and see the to-do list, below.

Scope

edit
Video describing why it is important to contribute aquatic content to Wikipedia.
Video describing how to add aquatic information to Wikipedia

This WikiProject is a collaboration to improve articles relating to inland waters and marine environments, including the study of lakes, ponds, reservoirs, streams, rivers, wetlands, groundwater, estuaries, and oceans. We strive for a diverse editor base and aquatic science topics to help combat common biases in Wikipedia.

Goals

 Limnology and Oceanography Unassessed
This article is part of the WikiProject Limnology and Oceanography to improve Wikipedia's coverage of the inland waters and marine environments. The aim is to write neutral and well-referenced articles on limnology- or oceanography-related topics, as well as to ensure that limnology and oceanography articles are properly categorized.
Read Wikipedia:Contributing FAQ and leave any messages at the project talk page.
???This article has not yet received a rating on Wikipedia's content assessment scale.
???This article has not yet received a rating on the project's importance scale.

Specifying the article class quality (e.g. stub, start, b, etc..) and the importance (e.g. top, high, mid, low) will help us keep track of articles that need the most improvement.

Assessment

edit

Adopted from WikiProject Molecular and Cell Biology statistics page.

The standard system on wikipedia is for each article to be assigned two grades: one for completeness and another for significance. These grades as assigned to articles by adding and/or updating the {{Wikiproject Limnology and Oceanography|class= |importance= }} template on that article's talk page. If you have improved an article, you may adjust the entry in the template yourself, or you may simply put a remark in the talk page that improvements have been done.
