Help with David H. Rosmarin
Hello, my name is Moshe. I'm here on behalf of David H. Rosmarin, looking for help with his bio. I've suggested a much shorter version of the article on the Talk page. Mr. Rosmarin is also fine with the article being removed, if editors think that is the best course of action. Because of my conflict of interest, I will not make any direct changes to the article and thought I'd post here in case anyone would like to take a look. Thank you in advance for the assistance. Cheers! MA of CFA (talk) 17:14, 14 April 2022 (UTC)
Looking for help with request for Stewart Bainum Jr. article
Hi all, I am hoping an editor watching this page might have a few minutes to review a short proposed addition to the article for Maryland businessman, Stewart W. Bainum Jr. In the last year, Mr. Bainum has received a lot of media coverage for attempted purchase of The Baltimore Sun and its parent company, and then his work to establish the news site The Baltimore Banner. The article is basically missing this information, so my suggestion is a couple of short paragraphs to add the key details, if editors think it's ok. My full request and draft is here on the Talk page.
I originally posted my request two months ago, and while one editor has reviewed and given positive feedback, I've not found anyone else to review and/or add the draft. In full transparency, I have a financial conflict of interest, as Mr. Bainum is my client and I am here on his behalf. Thanks in advance for any help! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:00, 15 April 2022 (UTC)

Edits by "new user"
Antimod made an account a few days ago. They started with just adding unnecessary wikilinks, which is kind of disruptive, but as soon as the autoconfirmation kicked in, they have been adding random citation needed tags to perfectly sourced information. Exclusively editing on biography and food science articles. Most concerning is this behavior at the David Beckham article, because of the amount and the article's prominence. Also of concern is the pattern of editing multiple articles, mostly through visual editor, within a few minutes. It looks strangely automated. But this isn't the editing behavior of a new editor, and it's just disruptive-without-being-vandalism enough to fly under radars while still being a massive detriment to the encyclopaedia. In a similar fashion to some other disruptive BLP editors I have noticed in recent times, they have a fascination with Judaism. Because of the line they walk, 1. it suggests they have enough knowledge of Wikipedia to know the line, and 2. there isn't enough concrete disruption to report. The username, anti-mod, is also concerning to me. For now, I think all we can do is be vigilant of their editing. Kingsif (talk) 13:58, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

Did a bunch of expanding of the article Amanda Seales
- "adding bit about her being a guest host before becoming permanent co-host for The Real"
- "+new show"
- "+exchange with Caitlyn Jenner"
- "+Everything's Gonna Be All White"
- "+more on the AKA stuff"
- "+Black Lives Matter University segment"
- "+Smart Black and Funny segment on The Real"
- "→Film and television"
- 15 intermediate revisions, between before and after I expanded the article
My additions could probably do with a copyedit, if anyone wants to take a look :). —Mythdon (talk • contribs) 05:19, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

User script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.
)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.
The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.
Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

Peabody Awards question
(copied from discussion I opened at BLP)
This may be more appropriate for Wikipedia:WikiProject Awards, but I have noticed inconsistency in how BLPs, specifically, handle Peabody Awards wins. Peabody Awards can be given to a variety of media, and broadly fall into two categories: personal and production. E.g. Martin Agronsky won a personal award, it was given to him, and Hailee Steinfeld was among the cast and crew cited when Dickinson received a production award. In both these cases, the Peabody is mentioned on the BLPs as their win, in the lead and awards.
The inconsistency doesn't really concern the personal awards, as I think it's clear those are for the person named, but when it comes to production awards there doesn't seem to be a standard for inclusion on BLPs of everyone mentioned in the citations across Wikipedia. The producers, typically, yes, but then in the case of Steinfeld, she gave the acceptance speech despite being part of the cast.
So, my question is whether we should include production Peabody Awards among the awards/honours on BLPs for everyone named in the citation, or if we should otherwise decide which categories of people should be mentioned, or if there should be no BLP mention of production Peabody Awards (leave it at the media, e.g. TV show, article)? While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Filippo Sgarlata
- On the Olympic Art competitors, my review of Category:1901 births just came across Filippo Sgarlata. He was a sculptor who was in the 1948 Olympic Arts competition. That is all our article says. The article was created by Lugnuts. the one source listed, Olympedia, has 3 paragraphs on Sgarlata. From the Olympedia article we learn that Sgarlata lived in the US from 1926-1932. We learn that he was a professor of sculpting in both Palermo and San Luca. He crfeated a gate for a notable building in 1961, and created some works that somehow were deemed to be "in line with fascists ideology". Is this one source enough to have this article survive? Porbably not? Was Sgarlata a notable sculptor? I am not sure, but really wish there was a way to get people to look into it more. I know there is a well developed set of notability criteria for artists, but I am less than sure what it is.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:48, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
Bernard Looney changes
I'm Arturo. I work at bp. Some changes have been made to bp CEO Bernard Looney's article recently that I do not believe are constructive or relevant to Mr. Looney. Primarily I am concerned with the edits made related to bp's former dealings with Rosneft (diff here). I believe this content puts too much weight on Rosneft and Igor Sechin and not enough on Bernard Looney. Much of it, like Sechin's relationship with Silovik Capital and the FSB, is simply not relevant to Bernard Looney.
Further, I do not believe that the way information is presented in the article is faithful to the source material used and because of that is being used to make the article take on a non-neutral tone. It is also missing some key elements of what happened, namely that bp announced it is selling its stake in Rosneft and that Mr. Looney stepped down from the Rosneft board within days of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. One inaccuracy (that Mr. Looney personally owned a 20% stake in Rosneft, rather than bp) has been corrected thanks to the efforts of Quetstar (thank you) but much of the problematic text remains.
I have drafted alternative content that I believe better summarizes the situation in a more complete manner with a more neutral tone while remaining faithful to the sourcing with a focus on Mr. Looney. I think it would be worthwhile to take another look at the content in Mr. Looney's article. I am seeking some additional feedback on the text I suggested to get the discussion started. I won't make any changes myself because of my COI. Please let me know what you think. Arturo at BP (talk) 21:08, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

I have recently created an article [[1]] which qualifies to be a part of the WikiProject Biography. The article has passed the first review and now only needs to be looked at by an academic expert. I wished to humbly request the process to be speeded up slightly, as it has already passed the initial review, and was thereby advised to seek feedback/review on a relevant WikiProject talk page. Is there a way in which I could request an early review for my article? Looking forward to your kind response.

Two women or one?
It seems to me that the wikiarticles Mary Eunice McCarthy and Mary McCarthy (screenwriter) are both talking about the same person: born in San Francisco, active in Hollywood in the 1930s, and credited with the same films, like Theodora Goes Wild, Curley (film), and Sister Kenny. Seems obvious to me they should be merged, but I'm retired now and don't want to do all the work to verify that these two are the same woman. As an employee of WA Capital Group, Sir Will Adderley's investment company, I have requested some edits to the Bill Adderley page on behalf of Sir Will. The specific edits include correcting the name at the start of the page, removing the "Sir" from above the infobox, and adding sources and clarifying the information about Sir Will on the page. I've provided links and references in my request on the Talk page.
Can anyone help with this? Thank you. Alex at WA Capital Group (talk) 11:05, 15 July 2022 (UTC)

The article Teako170 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Only one source here (the last) is both (a) reliable and (b) not a product of the subject themselves. Fails WP:V, WP:N, and WP:NOR, at a minimum—and has for 15.24 years since the subject themselves wrote the article.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Fourthords | =Λ= | 15:48, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
Page review for Juan José Arreola
Hello, lately I've been working on Juan José Arreola (I have added an inbox, some pictures, a works section, an awards and honors section, a further reading section, a reference/source, etc) but of course there's still work to be done given that the page has many shortcomings (lack of sources, peacocky, etc). So I was wondering if you could take a look at it and give me some advice as to which direction I should take to improve on its present state. It was in an even worse state when I started working on it but there's still lots of work to be done. My goal is to take it beyond a 'Start' class article. Your advice and constructive commentary will be appreciated. Thanks. DemianStratford (talk) 19:43, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
Douglas Leone requests
Hello there, WikiProject members. I recently posted two requests to the Douglas Leone article Talk page concerning proposed revisions. The first request involves a very straightforward update to the infobox. The second request involves changes to the article introduction (updating his title), Career section (lightly restructuring and updating existing claims), and Personal life section (adding one new claim). Due to my conflict of interest (I work for Sequoia Capital) I will not make any changes to the article myself. As such, I'm hoping experienced editors can look at what I've proposed and make those updates if they deem them to be improvements. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. David Copperfield Article Help
Hi there. In February I proposed some updates to the David Copperfield article here. But the Request Edits Queue seems to be stalled right now, so I was wondering if an editor here might be interested in reviewing my proposals? (I can’t do it myself because of a COI.) Thanks very much. MagicTech1902 (talk) 17:06, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
Stephanie Cutter edit requests
Hi editors, Christian here again hoping to drum up some interest in the Stephanie Cutter article. I have a couple outstanding requests on the article Talk page that I think help organize the article a bit better and clean up some redundancy. I'd love it if someone here could help me out! I won't make any edits myself due to my conflict of interest. Thanks in advance for your consideration! PrecisionChristian (talk) 20:46, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

Names of non-notable children in bio articles
Hello all- Looking for guidance re identifying subjects' children in biography articles. My take from reading WP:BIOFAMILY and WP:BLPNAME is that we are meant to err on the side of respecting people's privacy, though the guidance does not specifically state that we should avoid including non-notable children's names. Would anyone know of any other pertinent guidance? Eric talk 11:40, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
