History

edit

UMusic Hotels, a hospitality and travel brand, was established in October 2020 with the aim of integrating music-based experiences into hotel destinations[4][5]. The brand's first project, "UMusic Hotel Madrid Teatro Albéniz," in Madrid, Spain[6], integrates the historic Albéniz Theater, blending cultural heritage with modern lodging.[7][8][9]

The hotel celebrated its grand opening on November 14, 2022, marked by the Spanish premiere of the Broadway musical “Company”. This event was notable for featuring Antonio Banderas in a dual role as the lead performer and director[10][11]. Following this, the hotel hosted various other performances, including productions of Ghost and The Phantom of the Opera, along with a concert series by Spanish singer David Bisbal, which celebrated his twenty-year career in music.[12][13]

UMusic is preparing to open its second music-themed experiential hotel in Madrid, Spain, in 2027, with a focus on the restoration of the historic Reina Victoria Theatre building.[14][15]
