What I am trying to do is make this article resemble the In The Groove (series) article. I am also including features that the game does or doesn't have when compared to other games, so this article gains more neutrality. This article is being worked on. Please do not delete it. The image Image:Dance-praise-2-retail-box.gif is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Assessment

edit

No. This being start-class is already debateable, but promoting it?

Firstly, read the maintanance tags. Format the citation tags with {{Citeweb}}. You need to remove 90% of the gameplay stuff and replace it with real-world materials like development and reception. Remove the Pros and cons section completely for it violates WP:NPOV. Rename "How to play" to "Gameplay. Besides that, there are simply too many errors here to mention. If you need a peer review or a dissection of the article, leave a message on my talk page. --haha169 (talk) 01:51, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

To Do List

edit
  • Format citation tags
  • Remove unneeded gameplay stuff (anything else?)
  • Add development details (section can be expanded)
  • Add reception details (section can be expanded)
  • Remove Pros and Cons
  • Rename "How to Play" to Gameplay

I have finished doing everything requested by haha169. If there is anything else that should be done, feel free to add it to the list above or to contact me. Thank you. ~LetsGo67 (talk)

I'm really busy at the moment, but I still have a lot of comments left. I'll post them periodically, or all at once, sometime within the next couple days. I'll be sure to message you when I'm done. --haha169 (talk) 18:58, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lead

edit

Alright, then. Let's start with the lead:

The lead is the most important aspect of the article, as it summarizes everything up and gives the reader an idea about what to expect. For VG articles, the lead is generally organized this way:

  • Paragraph 1: Name, native language/translation (if applicable), developer, development process, and the international release dates.
  • Paragraph 2: Gameplay and/or plot
  • Paragraph 3: Critical Aggregate Reception

Try your best to start doing that right now. But it may be easier if we begin dissecting the rest of the article first. Cheers, haha169 (talk) 23:08, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Gameplay

edit

I rarely ever say this, but Gameplay section needs to be expanded. I think the easiest way to do so is to take phrases and cited information from Gameplay of Dance Dance Revolution and re-organize it into this section.

I suggest that Image:Target-zone-sm.gif be placed in this section rather than the "Differences" section. --haha169 (talk) 23:11, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Expansion Packs

edit

I question the notability of this section, but if it has to stay, I think that all the level three headers should be removed and merged into a separate paragraph or two into the "Development" section. --haha169 (talk) 23:12, 24 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reception

edit

Reception is really short - and for a DDR-type game, I'm sure that many sites have given it proper reception. This is generally the easiest part to write - as it is a simple matter of quoting and organization. See Super Smash Bros. Brawl's reception section for one of my favorite examples. --haha169 (talk) 23:29, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lead section

edit

I have read WP:LS and have made corrections to the lead section of the article. I believe that it is "able to stand alone as a concise overview of the article," but that, to better understand the article, the reader should be familiar with DDR, as the Dance Praise gameplay is mostly based on the DDR gameplay. If you object to the removal of the tag, feel free to contact me. Thank you. LetsGo67 (talk) 19:31, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2010

edit

No, I am not being blasphemous. They are adding two tracks from their new album, Awake. Video footage confirms "Hero" and Monster". The game is due out October 20th.

Biased introduction

edit

This article's introduction seems way too much like it was written by someone associated with or deeply in favour of the game - almost like an advertisement. I'm adding a POV template.Kflester (talk) 13:56, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

It doesn't seem like it. It explains what the game is and how the designer thought of it. The last sentence explains the purpose of the game. Gbpacker92 (talk) 04:22, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
