- Comment – just a drive-by comment, but might I suggest a hook that mentions that she (at least twice?) jumped out of a crashing air plane during test flights and lived. I think that's really interesting and rare, especially for a woman in 1945. – Levivich 01:25, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
notability
editThis really does need some RS establishing notability, not all airmen are notable, not even female ones.Slatersteven (talk) 19:18, 6 December 2018 (UTC)
And still not seeing it.Slatersteven (talk) 14:11, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
- Agree, courageous but I dont see anything special over the thousands of other WASPs that dont have articles. MilborneOne (talk) 17:20, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
- This was far too early to move from draft, despite the fact I had said months ago (last year) this needed better sourcing.Slatersteven (talk) 17:22, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
- I guess this article now renders this whole discussion wrong, if not remarkably moot. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 17:05, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

- I've seen a few colorized versions; this one is my favorite: [2]. Not sure if we can use it or would want to, but IMO it really brings the subject to life. – Levivich 03:46, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- I agree. However, I don't think that image is licensed for use here. User:Hawkeye7, am I right? 7&6=thirteen (☎) 09:53, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- Yes. That version is not free. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 20:58, 30 May 2019 (UTC)
- In my view it's just as well we can't. The colorization of her looks OK enough, but the apparently cloudy sky in the original has been washed to open blue, and the aircraft surface looks horrid. That surface is polished aluminum and should look like it; instead it looks like it's gone through an acid bath. The effect on the reflection of her arm in the surface is particularly odd. To be fair, the polished surface would make this a very challenging photo to colorize well, since you'd have to guess on the surrounding environment that the surface is reflecting. --Colin Douglas Howell (talk) 06:55, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
Inconsistent name
editThroughout the article, the person is referred to by the name Gardner. But in the 2nd paragraph of the Military career section, she is referred to as "Gardiner". Why? 216.239.68.35 (talk) 01:56, 13 July 2019 (UTC)

Training
editThere should be more information about her training besides "2 days under Paul Tibbets." No one learns to fly an airplane in 2 days. Not even 2 weeks. Joe Gerardi (talk) 18:21, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
