Dygenguard's Weapons in OG Gaiden

"Lastly, Famitsu scans have revealed the extra weapons of the Dygenguard, which were previously disabled by Sanger Zonvolt in favor of most of his Colossal Blade attacks, are now useable. It is not known why he would enable the weapons."

I'd just like to note that in the Alpha series, Sanger personally disabled the extra weapons on the Dygenguard. However, in the OG timeline it was stated that they didn't have enough time to reconfigure the OS in time for battle, and focused entirely on sword combat. Shouldn't this text be altered? No, it's accurate. You're remembering the OG events a little wrong. In OG, the DGG malfunctioned immediately after it was activated. Its integrated weapons never worked. Wodan tossed Sanger the blade from his Type 3 to give him something to use. After the battle, Sanger decided to disable the DGG's integrated weapons and stick with just the blade. He didn't want to waste time waiting on the weapons to get fixed, especially since he preferred the blade anyhow. Irm's dad then optimized its OS for sword combat.

Yeah, I definitely got things wrong. Thanks for the clarification. CyborgZeta 02:52, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Since this is an Original Generation game are there any planes to translate it to English?

Probably Not

<speculation>

Atlus hasn't officially said no, but the community buzz is that it's not likely. The snide reason would be that this game isn't gimmicky/bizarre/frou-frou enough for the current Atlus management.

The actual reason is because of SCEA (Sony Computer Entertainment America). It turns out that they require an English voice option for any game that has spoken dialogue before they will certify it for release.

Since this game is really 2.5 games, each with an absurd amount of spoken dialogue (blame Otaku Seiyuu Obsession), it's probably not cost effective to do for such a niche title late in the PS2 life cycle. Some say that there's so much voice that both tracks might not even fit on the same DVD.

So, contrary to popular belief (including my own there for a while), Atlus is not a bunch of ineptly-managed morons. SCEA is, and everybody already knew that.

OG Gaiden needs its own page.

Just like Alpha Gaiden has it's own. It will just become crammed, within time, since this is an entirely new title, which will have it's own page worth of info to be put up on the wiki. (Shin Kairi (talk) 22:45, 25 November 2007 (UTC))Reply

I went ahead and created a page specifcally for Gaiden. It can be found here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Robot_Wars_Original_Generation_Gaiden (Shin Kairi (talk) 09:39, 28 November 2007 (UTC))Reply
