Reason for creation
editPlease see detailed discussion here. Please help enhance, specially the early history of women in navy, special forces, intelligence, etc are still lacking. Thanks. 202.156.182.84 (talk) 10:53, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
Change name of article
editHi @Pharaoh of the Wizards, 202.156.182.84, and GreenC: I believe the name of the article is sort of misleading. Indian Armed Forces consists of Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. Similarly, the Paramilitary forces of India consist of other forces and so does the Central Armed Police Forces. The article correctly labels these forces. But the Indian government only considers the Indian Armed Forces of the 3 mentioned forces and not the other groupings. I propose two suggestions: One to keep the article name the same and remove the content about other forces to make it correct. Now this proposal is less desirable since we have quite a bit of content on the other forces as well. The second proposal is to rename this article to Women in Indian security forces. The word Security forces is an umbrella term and encompasses the Indian Armed Forces, Paramilitary forces of India and Central Armed Police Forces. This will ensure that the article is appropriately named and not misleading. I had raised this point earlier when I had come across the draft of the article but somehow it was either not understood or ignored. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 16:34, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- It is currently a WP:CFORK (content fork) of Draft:Women in Indian Armed Forces -- two live parallel versions of the same article with different edit histories. As seen in this edit (by yourself Adamgerber80) there are also concerns of WP:OR and other things. The title change makes sense I have no problem, and hope you can continue to work and improve it in other areas also. I'll start a delete request of the Draft version. Actually the edit histories need to be merged to deal with the improper cut and paste. -- GreenC 17:04, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Close paraphrasing
editEarwig picked up alot of similarity with this source - the quantity of verbatim language suggests close paraphrasing that is extensive enough to indicate some copying from the source. SeraphWiki (talk) 02:41, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Pictures
editSome of these pictures are not the Indian armed forces, but from the British/ Commonwealth armed forces (when India was a British colony).101.178.163.19 (talk) 04:52, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
Died during duty
