Overall:   Looks good. Nice work. Approving the initial hook; the second is probably too close to when it was last featured in 2015, while the third doesn't seem like a guaranteed fact (from the article: American vexillologist Whitney Smith attributes additional meaning to the flag; according to him, green represents the islands' lush vegetation, yellow represents the tropical sun ... Meanwhile, the US Central Intelligence Agency's World Factbook states that yellow represents cocoa, a major agricultural export of the country.) BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:57, 18 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

  •   Hi Cambalachero! Overall, I think the article is well-written. Earwig showed no copyright violations, and the article was moved to mainspace on 16 August, so it is new enough. However, I have some concerns about the plot section. Although there are no specific standard for its length and the current plot summary is sourced, I think it is a bit too lengthy, as it is longer than the lead, editorial history, and reception sections combined. Trimming it down to around 400 to 700 words would be more suitable for the article, so it does not overly focus on in-universe content. —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 13:01, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Overall:   New enough, long enough, sourced and neutral, Earwig detects no issues with the article. The photo is used, clear, and free. QPQ is needed, but also Panamitsu I'm very curious if we would be able to workshop the hook. In my opinion, there's some aspects of this meteorite that could make for something potentially more hook-ier. Namely:

  1. The sofa that was damaged by the meteorite being auctioned (same source mentions it's the only one that hit a house in NZ) [2]
  2. The meteorite being potentially thrown out [3]
  3. The meteorite being named as such because the street and post office names were already taken [4]

Perfectly fine if these angles are not interesting to you, but there are plenty to work with in this DYK and I felt eager to share my two cents. Ornithoptera (talk) 23:30, 19 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm wondering if I should rename the article to Ivan the Terrible (Eisenstein)? The first part was released in 1945, but there are two parts (second of which was completed in 1946 and released in 1958) and the film covers both films, so calling it "1945 film" might not be entirely correct.Jaguarnik (talk) 22:44, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, perhaps ask those folks at WikiProject Films? They must have a naming guideline. BorgQueen (talk) 22:53, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello BorgQueen. I just want to point out that the stills from the first film are in the public domain, or at least that WikiCommons lists them all as such. I believe this is due to the condition This work is a film (a video fragment or a single shot from it) ... which was created by legal entity between January 1, 1929 and January 1, 1946, provided that it was first shown in the stated period. Kind regards, Pagliaccious (talk) 23:28, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, that's a relief! We could use some still images for DYK then. Just so you know, @Jaguarnik: the image must be in the article if you'd like to use it for DYK. BorgQueen (talk) 23:53, 20 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
There are two stills in the article; one is of three of the main actors that I would like to use since it has nice composition, but I'm not certain that it was created before January 1946 (a still from the second film, despite what the wikicommons says). The other one is of Ivan the Terrible and Basmanov, from the first part, but it's not terribly interesting. Jaguarnik (talk) 00:06, 21 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Looks like it's good to use (Russian public domain laws say that it enters public domain 70 years after the death of the author; it's a still from the film, I presume Eisenstein would be considered the author and 70 years has passed since his death. @Pagliaccious: @BorgQueen: How does the image look? Please let me know if there's any issue with the image/licensing.Jaguarnik (talk) 05:38, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Overall:   The main hook is approved, and the check reflects this – the sources seem to indicate it may have been for political reasons (which would make the hook a bit more interesting IMO, but it's fine as is). I'd propose removing the word "the" for ALT1 before "project markets" to make it grammatically correct for ALT1 – make that change, and it's approved as well. Great work on this! Hi Nomader, thanks for reviewing and providing feedback! I have removed the extra "the" in the alternate hook. I had considered mentioning the political reasons for To quitting filming in the initial draft of the article, but it seemed a bit digressive from the focus on the film's production, so I did not include it. I am open to adding it in both the article and hook if you think that would make things better. —Prince of EreborThe Book of Mazarbul 12:41, 23 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
