A number of armed groups have involved themselves in the ongoing Syrian Civil War.
Opposing forces

edit- Russia supports government forces except for in battles against Turkey and the SNA. Until 2017, they supported the SDF, again except for in battles against Turkey and the SNA. In 2016, Russia cooperated with Turkey and the SNA against IS.
- Iraq supports the government and has aided them against IS.
- The SAA and SDF are currently working together, but have a history of occasional fighting.
- The United States support the SDF against IS and HTS, but not against opposition forces and Turkey. They have also supported the SDF in clashes with the SAA. Until 2018, the US also supported opposition forces and assisted them against IS and HTS.
- France supports the SDF and opposition forces against IS and HTS, but not against the SAA or each other.
- There has been ongoing infighting between opposition forces.
- Opposition forces and the HTS have a turbulent and inconsistent relationship.
- Israel supports the opposition and has assisted them against the SAA.
- Saudi Arabia and Qatar support opposition forces and HTS. Until 2016, they assisted opposition forces against IS.
