Davidindia (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · undos · manual reverts · rollbacks · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci) He has created a remarkable total of 647 articles on English Wikipedia, with only 4 deletions. This impressive accomplishment highlights his expertise and dedication. Primarily, he focuses on biographies of sportspersons and politicians, demonstrating a strong understanding of these subjects. Additionally, he treats fellow editors with respect and professionalism. Thank you! Jannatulbaqi (talk) 14:23, 26 October 2024 (UTC)

petscan:29601810 shows several hundred biographies with inconsistent categories. Depending on the subject, the solution is either replacing Category:Year of birth missing (living people) with Category:Year of birth missing, or adding Category:Living people. It's very repetitive (even with HotCat), but I don't think a bot could reliably decide which solution to apply. I'm requesting AWB access because it seems like the right kind of semi-automated tool for this job. jlwoodwa (talk) 01:39, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
Reason for requesting autowikibrowser rights: I have achieved 500 mainspace edits and I feel like this tool will be used so that I can contribute to wikipedia while expanding my knowledge of it- as well as how these tools work. (See rescinded previous request.) There are many tasks I undertake that AWB would make easier, but the immediate task is finding 'what redirects here' for Effective radiated power to clean its odd anchor 'Equivalent radiated power (Redirected)' in the second paragraph. I do a fair bit of redirect work, so the ability to examine database dumps without dragging out my minimal MariaDB chops would be nice. I need to dig into Pywikibot as well, but I'd like to try the GUI offered by AWB. Tule-hog (talk) 16:18, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Confirmededit
Reason for requesting confirmed rights I am requesting autoconfirmed user rights to contribute more effectively to Wikipedia. Having these permissions will allow me to make edits and create pages without the restrictions placed on new accounts, and I am committed to adhering to Wikipedia’s content policies and guidelines. I have a good understanding of Wikipedia’s notability and sourcing requirements and wish to participate constructively. Walluu2 (talk) 18:19, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Reason for requesting confirmed rights I am writing to formally request confirmed rights on Wikipedia. My primary reason for seeking this status is to enhance my ability to contribute meaningfully to the platform while adhering to Wikipedia's core principles of accuracy and reliability. As an active editor, I am committed to improving the quality of content within various topics I am passionate about. Having confirmed rights would not only empower me to edit more effectively by increasing my edit privileges but would also enable me to participate more fully in discussions and decision-making processes related to content updates and policy enforcement. I believe that my validated contributions can assist in maintaining the integrity of Wikipedia while fostering a collaborative environment among fellow editors. I'd like to request NPR rights. I have prior experience with AfC and NPP, so I'm familiar with the process of reviewing new pages. I'm confident in my understanding of notability guidelines and can easily spot paid/COI editing, as well as unreliable and branded sources. I am also familiar with WP:DP, WP:NOBITING, and CSD I understand the importance of careful, fair reviews and will do my best to uphold the quality of content on Wikipedia. Thank you! Hello! I was given temporary NPR rights by Clovermoss six months ago and it is about to expire. I will admit that I have been very busy over the past few months and have not been able to dedicate much time to reviewing or Wikipedia in general, but I would like to at least have an extension on my trial as reviewing articles and drafts is one of my biggest interests in editing. Thanks! —asparagusus (interaction) sprouts! 17:43, 26 October 2024 (UTC)
I know it hasn't been a few months, but it's been over a month and I've gotten a lot done in the past month. Since the last decline (which should be linked by the bot below), I've voted on at least 60 more AfDs and now retain a ~77% match rate. I also applied to be an AfC reviewer to prepare myself for this, and have been doing that for a little bit (I've done 92 reviews as of writing this). My reasoning hasn't changed, I still want to branch out and focus more on the maintenance side of the project, as article creation has been getting boring (again). I'd still just like a 1-or-2 month trial, just to get used to it before diving in head-first. :) SirMemeGod 15:44, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Hi there, I've requested here before but I'm more experienced now and have spent more time in WP:AFD getting familiar with policies and also doing some polite policing of potential vandalism and NPOV violations. I was previously denied this right for some reasons, and during a heated exchange with some of you guys, I was blocked from PERMS (the full details are on my user page). Now, nearly two months have passed, and I still want to help. I want to make one thing clear: anyone is completely free to decline this request, and I will wait longer. It’s all up to you. Thanks! I have been a registered user on Wikipedia for several years, with over 500 undeleted mainspace edits. I possess a strong understanding of content policies and guidelines, supported by my experience in quality control processes. I have actively participated in deletion processes like AfD, PROD, and CSD, contributed to Articles for Creation, and written new articles. I maintain a solid track record of interacting civilly and constructively with other editors, especially newcomers. I have no active behavioral blocks or 3RR violations within the last 6 months, and I am committed to reviewing pages solely on a volunteer basis. Imad_J (talk) 19:44, 30 October 2024 (UTC)

Page moveredit
I'd like to get this right to delete unnecessary redirects (i.e. move pages over existing single revision redirects regardless of target). Additionally, I would also like to try to harmonize some pages of Spanish municipalities with the name of the country and the province (when necessary) instead of other subnational units (such as comarca). Moreover if a double denomination exists in some cases, I shall use the slash with spaces in between to enhance visual effect of different linguistic nomenclatures. However if an English form is more relevant I shall use it instead of double and local denominations. Other than that I could help elsewhere to move pages if necessary. Requests for rollback |

Rollbackedit
With reference to my previous request for rollback rights submitted on 24 September 2024link and the advice received, I would like to re-submit my request. I have actively patrolled recent changes, reverting unconstructive or disruptive edits, addressing vandalism, and consistently warning editors. In more severe cases, I have reported offenders to administrators for further action and also requested for page protection. I have primarily used Twinkle for these tasks, alongside performing manual reverts. I believe that rollback rights would be a valuable addition to the tools currently available to me and going forward. Thank you. QEnigma (talk) 00:54, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
I've been patrolling Recent Changes since August 28, 2024, I've revert vandailsm and LTAs, I'am over 200 reverts form vandalism, and I'am interested the tools named AntiVandal and SWViewer, so I can patrol more faster. Criteria to make Successful:
Thanks. (please mention me on reply)
I enjoy Disambiguation links and a certain small portion are the result of vandalism. About a week ago I found myself matching links on an article for a very young children's show, it had been vandalized with some crude language and I'm assuming they placed links in order to fool the filter. I was in the situation of having to manually undo and I have in the past painstakingly gone through line by line, because although I just wanted to Disambiguate some links, I can't leve an article like that, especially one that children might go to. Luckily, this time I was able to ask a sysop who had recently edited the page for help. Since then I've been going back and forth as to whether I should make this request. I know, I meet the minimum requirements and I definitely feel like my request is for the correct reason. I have no doubts that I could probably find some sysop willing to trust me but having my edit history scrutinized and questioned officially seems the more appropriate route even if my request is not granted. I meet the mainspace edit requirement. I have previously patrolled recent edits fairly closely but currently only patrol it once or twice a day. A few monthes back I had an accusation of edit warring which was stricken out, it can be found in my talk page archive. I generally try to have communication with editors even if I'm not undoing their edit directly, communication and edit summaries are very important to me. RCSCott91 (talk) 03:28, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
I have been working on reverting vandalism and disruptive edits for some time now. Roll back permissions will allow me to use tools such as Twinkle etc. more effectively. I have a fairly good understanding of the policies involved. Wikibear47 (talk) 15:29, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
I want to have a rollback rights because i am committed to support anti-vandalism here in Wikipedia. I have experienced tools like Twinkle and Ultraviolet that helps me to tags and revert some unnecessarily sources and obvious vandalism like IP Address or new users. By giving this grant of rollback, I can contribute more effectively here to maintaining the integrity of all articles in Wikipedia. If it's any wrong reverts or not necessarily to revert, I would take full responsibility on my actions but I will be more careful and to be lesson in the future. Reason: The regime in Iran executed Jamshid Sharmad based on coerced false confessions extracted under torture. Sharmad worked closely with the Tondar group, which the regime often seeks to discredit. The Islamic regime has a history of targeting and discrediting opposition figures and dissidents through misinformation campaigns, including the spread of false information on Wikipedia. Therefore, in cases like this, it is crucial to verify edits and consult with reliable sources. Specifically, Gazelle Sharmad, Jamshid Sharmad’s daughter, can help clarify issues and verify accurate information due to her firsthand knowledge.
This request for page protection is also based on similar incidents involving other members of the Iranian opposition, such as the page on Reza Pahlavi. The pages of opposition figures have been frequent targets of disinformation and bad-faith edits. Given these risks, it is essential to take proactive measures to maintain the integrity of this page. Current requests for reduction in protection level
editBefore posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Current requests for edits to a protected page
editPlease request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
My suggestion is to leave out the following 2 sentences in the "German complicity" paragraph as they seem to be based on misunderstandings:
"She also highlighted police suppression of pro-Palestine protests throughout Germany[509] as evidence of state complicity.[508] Karen Wells et al. highlight how Germany has entrenched its complicity in Israel's actions by banning use of the word "genocide" in reference to Israel.[471][better source needed]"
1. In general violent protests are not allowed in Germany. As some of the first pro-Palestine protests were violent, they were sometimes forbidden by courts, if they were expected to turn violent. But that is common policy in Gemany with all subjects and not special for pro-Palestine protests.
Meanwhile, there even is a calendar concerning pro-Palestinian protests[15] with daily up to 20 protests all over Germany. Thus, there is no general police suppression of pro-Palestine protests as is suggested by the current wording.
2. The word “genocide” is not banned in reference to Israel in Germany - maybe that was a misunderstanding: What is not allowed in Germany is to call for genocide against Jews. The slogan “From the river to the sea” is seen as such call and banned. Gilbert04 (talk) 15:34, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- @FortunateSons: A quick browse shows at least for the first part support for removal, can you add any additional incite? -- Cdjp1 (talk) 12:38, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- I can confirm that both statements are broadly true. IMO, the best resource for this discussion (in the contemporary context) is probably Steinberg: Versammlungsfreiheit nach dem 7. Oktober - NVwZ 2024, 302. Direct citation: “Die Subsumtion unter diesen Tatbestand bereitet aber auch sonst Probleme. Die Stadt Frankfurt a. However, the subsumption under this offense also causes other problems. On December 2, 2023, the city of Frankfurt am Main had prohibited the person registering a meeting "Peace in the Middle East" from calling for the destruction of Israel during the meeting, from denying the State of Israel the right to exist, and from making the statements "Israel, child murderer," "Jews, child murderer," "Israel kills children" and "From the river to the sea." The Administrative Court of Frankfurt completely lifted these restrictions. In response to the city's complaint, the Administrative Court of Kassel differentiated that calls for the destruction of Israel violated - as mentioned - Section 111 of the Criminal Code and that the statement "Jews, child murderer" constituted incitement to hatred (Section 130 of the Criminal Code). In contrast, other statements such as "Israel, child murderer" or the description of Israeli military operations in Gaza as "genocide" were not objected to and the Administrative Court's decision was upheld in this respect. It can be assumed that children would also be harmed in Israel's military defense actions. Such a lay exaggeration must be accepted within the framework of freedom of expression. On October 21, 2023, the Mannheim Higher Administrative Court upheld a ban on the slogans "Israel, child murderer" and "Israel kills children" by the assembly authority despite existing doubts about their criminal liability; in the interim legal protection procedure, only a summary examination is possible; a statement once made cannot be reversed. The distinction between anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli is certainly a balancing act that cannot be described in detail here.” There is no broad ban on pro-Palestinian protests either, and they were even allowed to happen on Oct. 7 of this year (in some cases). While there are legal disputes on specifics for both, I’m pretty confident that no reasonable person would disagree with “broadly permitted” regarding both claims. FortunateSons (talk) 16:54, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Bonus: there can be cases where something isn’t criminal, but can be restricted in other ways, for example due to different burdens of proof or social pressures. FortunateSons (talk) 17:11, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

- I've removed #2. But there does seem to be evidence that pro-Palestine protests have been banned in parts of Germany at times.[16][17][18].VR (Please ping on reply) 14:55, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. Maybe the following article gives a bit more clarity.[[19]] Gilbert04 (talk) 18:10, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- Unfortunately that source seems incomplete. Germany has indeed suppressed peaceful criticism of Israel.[20] And Washington Post says "A planned photo exhibit in southwestern Germany was canceled as a result of social media posts by its curator, including one describing “genocide” in Gaza."[21] VR (Please ping on reply) 22:32, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

Consider changing "The Israeli government rejected South Africa's allegations, and accused the court of being antisemitic, which it often does when criticised" to "The Israeli government has been accused of consistently weaponizing antisemitism against it's critics, including in the ICJ ruling." Ecco2kstan (talk) 23:12, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- The Weaponization of antisemitism page hyperlinked over "often done" has many sources to draw from regarding the accusations' consistency and nature.
- My main concern with the original text is that it's voiced as if it's an observation made by a Wikipedian. The benefit here is that the weaponization of antisemitism has a clearer consistency grounded outside of Wikipedia. Perhaps other ways to word this out include adding a time scale (increasingly accused since Oct. 7th) or specifying the critique (against critiques of their actions since Oct 7th).
- If a lead paragraph change is necessary, there may be reason to outline Israeli motives and conditions for the genocide, including Zionism and anti-Arab racism. Ecco2kstan (talk) 23:25, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Ecco2kstan, how about: "The Israeli government rejected South Africa's allegations. Supporters of Israel say that accusing Israel of genocide is both antisemitic[24][25] and a form of Holocaust erasure[26], but others argue antisemitism shouldn't be exploited to shield Israel from such allegations.[27][28][29][30]".VR (Please ping on reply) 00:12, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not as familiar with the Holocaust erasure claims, but I'm happy with that reworking! If that weaponization of Holocaust denial detail isn't on the weaponization of antisemitism page already, it might be a worthwhile phenomenon incorporate if there's more citations you can find. I might look into it myself. Thanks! Ecco2kstan (talk) 03:10, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

Stated Israeli tank losses in casualty and losses infobox are incorrect, attributed article from Business Insider states "The IDF again had problems with anti-tank missiles during the 2006 war in Lebanon, when Hezbollah employed Russian-made Kornets. Though about 50 Merkavas were damaged, only five were destroyed, according to the IDF, which also struggled with poorly maintained vehicles and ill-trained crews." Casualties and losses box states this number as if it was from current conflict. Article does, however, state that "Israel has lost nearly two dozen tanks during fighting with Hamas since October 7." I believe losses of tanks in the infobox should be fixed to reflect this. 155.225.2.98 (talk) 14:17, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
