A common misconception being spread now is that nobody is willing to help source the tens of thousands of unsourced BLPs. So, this page is for those who do want to help to sign their name and actually make the commitment to help solve this problem. In the future, editors who sign this list may be notified about efforts to make it happen, or BLP-related proposals, if people choose to use this list. I request that editors do not sign this list if they cannot commit to checking for sources for at least 500 articles over the coming weeks and months.

Five a day meets the 3 month timeframe that has been mooted (factoring in the time it will take to reach a decision). I can commit to that. WFCforLife (talk) 05:32, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Moral support. I think 500 in a short time frame is unrealistic for just about everybody signing up here, but I for one am now prioritizing this work.--Father Goose (talk) 08:05, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Not sure I will get to 500, but am working through our NHL player lists and adding, at the very least, references to their Hockey Hall of Fame biography. The work I log below will not necessarily be tagged as BLP-unsourced, but will be unsourced articles fixed none the less. Resolute 17:24, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
Count me in. I've done quite a few so far and will continue in that vein. Argyle 4 Life (talk) 19:58, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
You know 500 sounds daunting but at five-a-day it does seem do-able. -- Banjeboi 07:33, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
500 articles sounds too much but will try to start with 3 to 10 articles per day. Arteyu ?Blame it on me ! 23:03, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
I am in, I cannot promise 500, in fact I can promise I will not be able to do 500 in the time alotted, but less is better than nothing ;) MPJ -DK 12:47, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Already been doing this. More constructive than the endless debates about exactly when to unleash the deletionist hordes. Sam Blacketer (talk) 13:02, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
I really cannot commit to 500 articles (if anything I'll likely be less active in the weeks ahead), but I'm already working on this and thus will sign on here. I started my own log of my activities which I'll link to below. --Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 18:52, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
I will try to finish the task in 2nd place behind Jogurney's inspirational effort. King of the NorthEast 21:17, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
I have been working on it already, but didn't see this page. 500 is a lot for one person, but I will try. I will not have time to list the articles I source on this page though. --Apoc2400 (talk) 16:49, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Hey guys, I started sourcing articles inmediately when the issue came up. I even receved a award for the effort, but it was some weeks from now. I did quite nice, grabed the lists by countries, and done a few of them, leaving only the ones that wasn´t notable. If it wasn´t for King of the North East, I wouldn´t even know about this. You were all affraid of me, come on guys, recognise it! (I´m joking), hey, can someone explain to me how can I make a list of all articles I sourced recently? FkpCascais (talk) 00:45, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Pohick2 (talk) 20:03, 12 February 2010 (UTC) this will distract from new article creation, but, c'est la vie. i would like to add that the quality of wiki is not to be measured by pseudo-numerics like unreferenced BLP's. the huge backlog is more a measure of the tendentious many who tag away oblivious to the few who actually improve articles. i continue to be disappointed by the mismanagement, by constant thrashing of management by numbers, which violate the sound principles of Edwards Deming. a superior method would be making article improvement more fun, engendering an improvement spiral (a minority view).
I, too have been sourcing BLPs for a while in the Project I'm working with and have only just picked up the reference to this page. 500 is a lot. I might get there but truthfully, I'm not going to spend time counting or making tallies. I'm just plodding steadily though various lists of BLPs in our project sourcing and improving as I go. --Plad2 (talk) 23:14, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
I have been working on this all along, though not at this rate. Nor do I intend to waste my time either counting or listing. I think I know how to go about things like this, but 5 a day is the highest speed I can handle properly, not the average speed. Doing a rushed and inadequate job to other people's over-short deadlines is not a good way to deal with a problem. I am cynical enough to wonder what unrealistic expectation will be raised next by those who want to make Wikipedia smaller. DGG ( talk ) 04:44, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Great to have this pledge drive going on. I've done a couple hundred, somewhat painstakingly, since March, and I have also been correcting mis-stated BLP unreferenced tags for many articles having IMDB as a reference. Record of that effort is at User:Doncram/IMDBzap, will pass 1,000 soon, may reach 2,000 or more before june 1. --doncram (talk) 20:14, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
