Naming with diacritics
I managed to move four more articles to correct names that have final cs with diacritics - thanks for the Move guidance, and Happy New Year. Opbeith (talk) 23:00, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello Vejvančický and a happy new year! Your actions show once again that a positive look on the situation and giving the benefit of the doubt can be extremely useful. Sure, the actions of the IP may be entirely disruptive, but it seems to me that the subject of the article indeed has a claim to notability. — Toдor Boжinov — 16:08, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

I would love to create a CAETEK Inc. page but i do not want it to be deleted, how can i do that? (Saint1989 (talk) 14:22, 20 January 2011 (UTC))
- Wikipedia is not a directory of all companies in the world and you have to find evidence (I mean reliable and independent sources) proving that CAETEK Inc. is a notable company. I did a quick online search for possible sources, but I didn't find anything. I don't think CAETEK Inc. meets Wikipedia notability requirements for companies. Could you provide any sources indicating notability of this company? Please, check the blue links included in my message. Thank you. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 14:58, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
Well i got this link off of the electricity forum http://www.electricityforum.com/products/CAETEK_Inc.html stating exactly what it is CAETEK Inc. does, also you can find CAETEK listed on the Zuken.com website http://www.zuken.com/products/e3-series/design-bureaux.aspx. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saint1989 (talk • contribs) 15:12, 20 January 2011 (UTC)
- The links are basic promotional company profiles apparently written by the owners/representatives of Caetek Inc. The information proves that the company exists, it doesn't say how it is notable. I could create similar profile for any company. We can't count this evidence as an indepentent source. Sorry. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:29, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Self-made map & Islamic Emirate
Hi Vejvančický. You are invited to participate in a discussion regarding a self-made political map on Somalia. The map makes a number of exceptional claims, all of which are unreferenced, including the notion that a part of the country is carved up into something called the "Islamic Emirate of Somalia". As you recently took part in a deletion discussion on an article on the topic [1], your input on the matter would be most appreciated. Best regards, Middayexpress (talk) 21:49, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Why was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodhi_linux removed, you say its because of Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.bodhilinux.com/about.html) When I put in the talk its not a infringement... Do you know how to speak english? If not ill contact someone who does. And Unambiguous advertising or promotion, this is not correct... Their wasnt even a link back to our site.. only information about the project.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Twickline (talk • contribs) 07:46, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- The article was deleted because the content was copypasted from http://www.bodhilinux.com/about.html. Please, note: Copyright bodhilinux.com 2010 at the bottom of that page. It was not the only reason for deletion, the article was written in a promotional way, which is unacceptable for Wikipedia. The reasons for deletion are properly explained at your talk page, so if you know how to read English, follow the link. Feel free to contact someone else if you think my response is insufficient. Thanks for your understanding. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:00, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
We own the project so how the heck is it Unambiguous copyright infringement????? And it wasnt written in a promotional way, it just explained the project and the system requirments! I'm starting to see why so many people hate wikipedia... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Twickline (talk • contribs) 08:08, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- I don't know if you really own the copyrights of that site, you are an internet nickname. As explained at your talk page:
- If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Nice to talk to you.

- Hello Its019. My user page says I'm Czech, not German :) Thanks for your work on Václav Laurin, he was a really notable exponent of the early Czech automotive industry. I'll look at the article later. I checked your article on Abishek Kumar Singh, and I must say that I have some concerns, particularly with the sourcing of your article. Here's my review: indiacompanynews, scribd.com and onlineprnews.com are promotional press releases of a company, and we can't count the links as independent sources. The same applies for facebook.com, as anyone can write almost whatever on Facebook. The websites museumstuff.com and ask.com are Wikipedia mirrors and their information isn't considered reliable by Wikipedia. Please, look at WP:Reliable sources for better explanation of what is a good sourcing. You have to find multiple reliable, third-party, published sources to prove the notability of this young entrepreneur. In any case, you can submit your draft at the Articles for Creation to get another independent review and assessment of your article. Thanks for your understanding, and thanks also for your kind offer of help. Don't hesitate to ask me if you have other questions or if you feel my explanation is unclear. Best regards. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:56, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Help Required
Dear, Hope you are doing good.
I have written an article User:Its019/Priyanka Singh
But i have no idea how to move it to main.
I have discovered that the similar name article had a deletion history.
Will that be a problem for this and How can i move the article to main if so.
If it is possible please help and do it, Please guide me alos how to do that so that i don,t bother you again.
Also Thank you for improving Mr. Laurine (Skoda) Article, It needs more work I will follow that.
Thank you.--Its019 (talk) 11:15, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Its019. You can move the article to the main space with the help of the "move" button (in the toolbox above). However, before doing that, please check this discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Priyanka Singh (2nd nomination). The discussion refers to the same person you're writing about, and the result of the debate was to "delete" the article. I'm afraid that the reasons for deletion are still valid, the sources are insufficient (self published evidence by Taj companies or business listings). I tried to find out more about this entrepreneur, but my searching was unproductive, see the Google search result for "Priyanka Singh" "Taj Group". I don't think Priyanka Singh meets our notability criteria for people and I can't recommend you to move the article to the Wikipedia main space. In my opinion, the article would be deleted again. In any case, you can submit your draft at the Articles for creation. Thanks for your understanding. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 12:02, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

My point was, I doubt that anyone's proposed on wikipedia before; at least, if they have, I've never heard of it. I'll probably attend to the other matter sometime tomorrow. - OK, I think we're done at Muriel's place. If not, just leave a note there - it's on my watchlist. Amazing, strange stuff, eh? In others, very different, there being no tanks or guns on the streets of London when all that was happening. And that's really some difference. Haploidavey (talk) 03:06, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

The Moravian business
Yes indeed, let's fix this with a nail - at least as much as anything can be nailed down on wiki. A footnote derived from scholarly opinion (and based on the man himself - verbatim ideally, though that may not be possible) would be informative, and offer a useful foil against contrary opinion offered for whatever reason. We've been here before, of course, briefly. It must've been horrendous on J's czech-wiki page. I wonder if anyone's ever done a word count of the interminable arguments, counterarguments and ABUSE IN CAPITAL LETTERS devoted to this kind of thing? Haploidavey (talk) 17:07, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Nicely put! It's a ripe old word, is nationalism, but hellish hard to define - I conceive it complete with "scare quotes" (sic) because I don't fully understand what I mean by it, let alone what it's claimed to mean by nationalists, anti-nationalist's or neutrals. Of course, so many modern, monolith-nations emerged during the 19th century, each one complete with a single portfolio of nationhood that must embrace the diverse languages, histories and national customs of its constituent peoples, including who is and who is not persona grata, and who is really who. Horrendously complex; or it seems so to me. Living on one of a few quite small islands does have its advantages! Haploidavey (talk) 18:14, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Roarie Deacon
Hello. The linked AfD referred to Nico Yennaris and six others, one of which was Mr Deacon. Some of those seven footballers have become notable since the date of that AfD by playing firstteam professional football, Mr Deacon hasn't, yet. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:07, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oops, you are right. I apologize for my sloppy checking. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 11:11, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- No problem :-) cheers, Struway2 (talk) 11:15, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- When the hit squad were so unanimously confident about bumping the seven of them off did they have a policy guideline to treat being a member of the FIFA 2009 Under 17 World Cup Championship team[2] as not-notable? Or did they just not notice. Opbeith (talk) 13:13, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, the notability criteria for footballers are quite strange, personally I think there's a possibility to create an informative article about Sead Hajrovic, but I'm afraid some people at WP:FOOTBALL would be strongly opposing. See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sead Hajrovic. In any case, I believe the article could be useful for Wikipedia readers. Just my opinion. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 09:07, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

As you can tell, I'm in another battle over deletion, I just spotted this particular inconsistency in passing and as you know I'm not very good at keeping my views to myself! Opbeith (talk) 10:18, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
Why did you delete A.S.C.O?
I do not understand why people can write about real companies/organizations and yet not be deleted. A.S.C.O is a real organization that operates in New Zealand, and why do you think it isn't real, you don't even live in New Zealand! I am disgusted with the terrible service of Wikipedia, you can't make a new article of anything because it will fall under the "deleted" tag and so many other articles that people consider "good" have already been made. I am going to go onto another website, like Blogger or Wikianswers, where i won't be deleted.
SHAME ON YOU WIKIPEDIA
P.S: So much stuff on wikipedia is not accurate, what a joke! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clubbyful (talk • contribs) 18:29, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Clubbyful, you are right, you can't make a new article of anything here on Wikipedia. This project is an encyclopedia with specific notability requirements. Please, read the requirements for companies and organizations. You didn't explained in the article how is the A.S.C.O notable and there's virtually no evidence that the organization exists. That's why I deleted your article. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 06:15, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

- Why? Feel free to ask me directly here. I have no need to discuss this matter off-wiki. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:04, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

- Yes, it was a promotional article describing your new project, completely unacceptable for Wikipedia. Please, familiarize yourself with the notability guideline for websites and check also the information about self-promotion and advertising on Wikipedia. Thank you. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:36, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
