Khatri
editPlease stop adding genetics information to the Khatri article. It is both unnecessary (the Vedic point is already "substantiated") and contrary to our practice of not using genetics studies in caste articles. They're too variable, too small in sample size, usually speculative and based on a fast-developing new science. - Sitush (talk) 13:33, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- Just to inform, admixture tests vary widely as they depend upon the calculators used. For example, these very Khatri samples have shown 33%–66% ASI in "MDLP K11 Modern" calculator. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 16:28, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Your edits
editI've tried to explain my reversions in my edit summaries. Eg one of your edits relating to ethnicity was ok, the other failed WP:Ethnicity. When we use genetic studies we should stick to the main findings and not cherry pick the rest, and we should never interpret them. If an article in a peer-reviewed journal has a response, we must include that to meet WP:NPOV. Doug Weller talk 13:41, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Please be aware
editThis is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
- Sitush (talk) 13:42, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- You are new and allowances are made for that but you cannot keep reinstating stuff just because you disagree with other people. - Sitush (talk) 13:42, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
Original research
editSee WP:NOR. At Khatri you wrote "The Khatri claim of "pure Vedic descent" seems to have some genetic backing to it as they have the largest proportion of Ancestral North Indian (ANI) ancestry out of all the Indian population groups;". Unless the article explicitly states that, we cannot use it to make an argument about something it doesn't discuss. You're evidently too new to understand our policies and guidelines but you need to follow them and listen to what other editors say when you are reverted. Doug Weller talk 13:44, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
So, unless an article explicitly states the words, we cannot use it? is that right? I will read the guidelines and make sure to follow them, thanks mate Abh9850 (talk) 13:58, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

editHello, I'm Fylindfotberserk. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Tara Sutaria, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Sources like wikibio are considered unreliable in Wikipedia. You need reliable source from media like The Times of India, The Hindu, etc. Visit WP:ICTF and WP:ICTFFAQ. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:50, 18 February 2019 (UTC)
Average height chart
editHello there. Why have you removed so many of the entries for countries, in particular the upper figures for Norway, Netherlands and Denmark? These tall nations now present as "just above average" and all details were sourced. --Juicy Oranges (talk) 17:18, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
They were either very old (1970-80), or had extremely misrepresented and cherrypicked data. Some was just blatantly false. For example (making a separate column for 18-24 yr olds just to show a higher average height, even though the study had subjects from 18-60, intentionally misrepresenting the study to make the average bump up). Way too much clutter.
I have also removed erroneous sources from China, Brazil, Eastern Europe and any other places I could find - whilst adding a lot of recent research for the balkans (highest average height) and updating some old studies from China. Abh9850 (talk) 21:07, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
- I didn't know the sources were between 40 and 50 years old, though the one which interested me - and which is acknowledged in other sources being used is the Dutch figure of 1.838 on 21-year olds. The only inaccuracy is that it was self-reported rather than measured (and people more often exaggerate themselves by that mere fraction) but self-reported statistics do constitute valid data, and the year in this case was 2009. Any thoughts? --Juicy Oranges (talk) 22:05, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
That's just not accurate or reliable because the Dutch Government literally records all the data and breaks it down perfectly. The average for dutch men is 180.8 cm and (2013 data) and comes from www.gov.nl with a sample size of 96.8%+ of the population.
When official government data that is 100% reliable, accurate and recent is available that covers all the population, using a study from 10 years ago on just 21 yr olds is just not a valid metric or intellectually honest. IIRC, not a lot of governments record the official height of their populations (minus US, UK, NL, Australia) and we use the official national data for all those countries.
Abh9850 (talk) 14:15, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- I take your point. It is parroted at every turn in popular media and in blogs/forums etc. that the "Dutch are the tallest people in the world" and all in oblivious ignorance to the Dinaric Alps count from 2005. I mean I agree with you that 21-year olds only is not intellectually honest but I always felt it is fine to include it provided the age group is declared in the chart box. It's always going to be the case that a younger subset will generate a higher figure, and I feel including 19s or younger means there is certain unfinished growth, while over 50 there is decline. --Juicy Oranges (talk) 16:49, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
So, the technical evidence concluded that it is highly unlikely that I am using sockpuppet accounts but you still decided to block me based on "coincidences" ? Come on man, it's not my fault if some people comment on the talk pages of the issue I'm discussing. Just check the IP addresses and computers of the accounts in question.... I've been blocked based on suspicion? I sincerely request a re-evaluation of this case
Decline reason:
You would need to explain why a random person popped up to help you in edit wars. Recruiting friends to help you is known as meat puppetry, and it does not require checkuser evidence to block people. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 09:25, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:
Ok... I have read the entire wikipedia policy on it. I was unaware of the meatpuppets thing since I am relatively new to wikipedia but would like a chance to explain honestly. I am in college and some of my friends here are also interested in history and browse wikipedia, I told them about this issue so we could discuss the topic on hand. I didn't really tell them to "help me out" but I guess they felt compelled to do it themselves and I didn't think it was breaking any rules (since it isn't sockpuppeting but now I found this isn't allowed too). Anyways, that is the story. I told them about it and how it isn't allowed for people to interfere in edits like this. I would request you to give me one more chance to prove myself if possible, but if not, then I understand since I did break the rules. Thanks
Accept reason:
Per the below discussion and subject to these conditions:
- You agree to refrain from creating or using any other account (or editing while logged out of this account) without the advance permission of an administrator.
- You agree to make no more than one revert on any page in any 24-hour period ("1RR"); instead, you will seek to discuss on the talk page. You agree that if someone you think is a friend of yours or was brought to the article by you makes a revert, that also disallows you from making a revert on the same page in the next 24 hours. - Hi Abh9850. I'm Kevin, and I'm the blocking administrator here, which means that I am allowed to accept your unblock request if I wish (but not decline it: an independent admin has to review in order to decline). I have a couple questions: Why did you say above that
it's not my fault if some people comment on the talk pages of the issue I'm discussing
when you in fact knew the people who were continuing your reverts and knew that they likely would not have done so had you not brought it up? Also, do you know how your friends were so fluent in Wikipedia lingo beginning with their first edits? Reviewing administrator: I'm inclined to conditionally unblock if answers to my questions are satisfactory, but please feel free to unblock with any reasonable set of conditions without consulting me first. Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 22:30, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
Hello Kevin @L235:
Well, because at first I didn't even realize they had done this as I'm not that wikipedia savvy. The talk pages and discussions confuse me a lot due to the markup kinda text and I don't often pay attention to those bell notifications (If i do, i forget about them) and later just edit and log off for some days, sometimes weeks. If you look back, there was a sockpuppet investigation filed against me months ago which cleared me but I never even commented on it because I didn't even realize it was going on until it got over, I even got blocked once for 7 days and later on it got removed but I didn't even appeal it cause I didn't open wiki for some time so didn't know about it. With the latest edit war thing in which my friend commented, it took me a while to figure out it was him and when I did I didn't think it was breaking the rules (As I said, I figured it's normal if other different users do this as it's not sockpuppetry) also I genuinely felt it wasn't my fault since he just did it on his own without even consulting me so I felt a bit cheated there that I got involved in this issue because of them. I'm pretty sure they have used wikipedia before and have used it for much longer than me (I joined around 4-5 months ago). However, I do think if I had just paid a little more attention to all of this and read the rules, this situation could've been avoided completely so it is my fault there. Rest I will leave to you, thanks.
Abh9850 (talk) 12:36, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
- Alright. I'll unblock you if you agree to the following conditions:
- You agree to refrain from creating or using any other account (or editing while logged out of this account) without the advance permission of an administrator.
- You agree to make no more than one revert on any page in any 24-hour period ("1RR"); instead, you will seek to discuss on the talk page. You agree that if someone you think is a friend of yours or was brought to the article by you makes a revert, that also disallows you from making a revert on the same page in the next 24 hours.
- These conditions will be indefinite in duration but may be lifted by any administrator. I will be inclined to lift the second one after a solid history of contributions to discussions rather than reverting. If you agree to these conditions, let me know; otherwise, another admin will review your appeal. Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 20:13, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Ok, those conditions are fine by me. No problem
Thanks @L235:

editHi there, a quick note re: this edit, this is not a minor edit. A minor edit is a change that couldn't possibly be the subject of a dispute. That means typically cosmetic changes like typo fixes, grammar fixes, capitalisation fixes, reverting obvious vandalism, etc. It would be appreciated if you'd please keep this in mind going forward. September 2020
editYour recent editing history at Dallewalia Misl shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —C.Fred (talk) 23:09, 27 September 2020 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Misl; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 23:18, 27 September 2020 (UTC)

editSpeedy deletion nomination of Sardar Gulab Singh Khatri
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sardar Gulab Singh Khatri requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ehmerapunjab.tumblr.com/post/7578271670/sikh-misls-of-punjab. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Amkgp 💬 16:07, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

editPlease stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Vikram Batra, you may be blocked from editing. MBlaze Lightning (talk) 17:14, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
- For reference, the edit in question is Special:Diff/1038473903. I found it to be utterly misleading and deceptive. The very source you cited does not even explore Batra's early life to begin with, let alone mentioning immaterial drivel like what caste he belonged to. Considering that you have been here long enough to know the ropes, and to make yourself acquainted with the policies of this site, this shocking use of a WP:FAKE citation is even more deplorable. You need to explain why you did it, lest you find yourself all at once in deep waters. MBlaze Lightning (talk) 18:29, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi Abh9850! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Vikram Batra that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. editHello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Average human height by country does not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Dl2000 (talk) 15:11, 5 February 2022 (UTC)

Some suggestions
editDear @Abh9850, Nice to hear you are developing saraswat Brahmins page just my some suggestions. 1.There is lot of unnecessary explanation of saraswats of konkan mainly in occupation page so it can be reduced in few sentences and can add occupation of Kashmiri saraswat.Punjab Saraswats,Kutch saraswat and Bihar saraswat. 2.The definition of page is according to religious belief of Saraswat of west coast so you can add all saraswats information. 3.Marriage can be expanded. 4.Origin myth remains same for all the saraswats irrespective of location.
Just one information to that is Gaud saraswat and shenvis are not same.In konkan Gaud saraswat contains 7 group where shenvi is one small community .You may get confused as many source have written them as synonym due to lack of research. You will find more information regarding shenvi Brahmins more than other gaud Saraswats as they were administrators and warriors from past 800 years.Maratha empire power struggle made Dravid Brahmins to slander them and they slandered Dravid Brahmins. Many top level research are there regarding this.Just giving this info to avoid your confusion. If you want any help in this can reach me out as even I have already doing research on this to expand. Khatri
editWhy are you removing the longstanding parts (silk weaving and others)? Get consensus in the talk page before making such changes. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:12, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
I have not removed it, it still exists in the footnotes to the sources, that was the edit since at least the pasy 7-8 months since you changed it. Abh9850 (talk) 18:14, 30 April 2024 (UTC) Fylindfotberserk
- Which version? You are removing the 'silk production and weaving' repeatedly. Also this particular line, I believe is longstanding, for years. I'm restoring stuff here. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:31, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, feel free to do so then, but I think a further discussion can be opened on the talk page, because the silk production and weaving is something the Khatri caste in Gujarat and Maharashtra was occcupationally known to do, not in Punjab (and the Wiki page is about the Khatri caste of the Punjab region, as you yourself added in the edit.). So this deserves a clarification in my opinion. Let me know what you think.

- You need to see this. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:16, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
Hari Singh Nalwa
editI just wanted to confirm why you removed sourced content with accurate source Either you should justify your action or have a discussion with wiki users Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa Talk Page @Abh9850 Truthfindervert (talk) 04:28, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- there is absolutely nothing controversial about this topic, its purely vandalism. there is uniform academic consensus (of every single modern scholar of worth on sikh history) on what Indian caste Hari Singh Nalwa belonged to and you are unilaterally undoing long standing consensus on this page without any discussions on talk.
- @Truthfindervert Abh9850 (talk) 07:10, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
- However you should cite the list of sources except vanit nalwa and autar sandhu in which his family background mentioned khatri or anything else if it possible don’t try to undone an dispute topic,Also one more important thing you need to understand khatri source are much latter despite early sources mentioned him as non khatri you can through this snipshot
- This
- non-scholarly and non-independent source is authored by Vanit Nalwa, who is a neuropsychologist and hypnotherapist by profession. This is non-independent source, as she is a relative of the subject. So this is not reliable for Sikh history. For historical details, please cite scholarly sources authored by historians – see
- WP:SCHOLARSHIP
- and
- WP:HISTAR
