AfD nomination of List of creatures in the Resident Evil series
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of creatures in the Resident Evil series. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of creatures in the Resident Evil series (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:23, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
Scott Murray
Hi, Thanks for disambiguating SCott Murray at the Bristol City FC page, but in fact you changed the wikilink to a rugby union player. Bristol City play football not rugby. This has been fixed now. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:02, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Deletion Question
Hi, After Midnight, recently you have tagged a page I worked on for deletion. Would you be so find as to help find a way to keep this page alive? The page is Jeffrey W. Hayzlett. He is becoming extremely active in the Social Media scene and is person to keep an eye on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance Paulettann (talk) 21:27, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Edward Norton Marathon thing
I was thinking of adding a paragraph about Norton running the New York Marathon. Where do you think I should position it? In the opening lede or down further/give it a new section?Malke 2010 (talk) 16:38, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Has he done it yet? If so I would put it in the "Personal life" section. If he has only announced that he is training for it, I would leave it out. (Sorry, I'm not taking the time to research that.) --After Midnight 0001 16:43, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, he ran it November 1st. Did decent time. Okay, I'll put in the Personal life section. ThanksMalke 2010 (talk) 17:42, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello After Midnight! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 76 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 514 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Montenegrin language
Hello, how are you? I wanted to ask for your help on fixing this problem. There was recent edit war on question of Montenegrin language. Until now, articles had written "Montenegrin language" on every Montenegrin articles, but now Serbs reverted it and adding Serbian. Their argument is that Montenegrin doesn't have ISO code. Montenegrin is official language of Montenegro, therefor is used in Government, school, TV etc... ISO standard is expected in one or two months. There are a lot of admins who reverted for them without knowing anything about Montenegrin language. Here are e.g. of articles:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulcinj http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podgorica
Not to mention that battle was won a lot of times before with Admins agreement, but ever few months appear some clone to remove it.
Best regards!

- Certainly. Click on the following link for a great place to start.... Wikipedia:Starting an article --After Midnight 0001 02:56, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Ahh, thanks a lot. Bainseyy (talk) 11:44, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
The article Allen May has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- My Google searches have not revealed any truly notable coverage for this driver, who only raced briefly at a high level of competition.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 01:04, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
Unexplained deletions
Would you be so kind as to explain the deletions of these logos? Discussion was split 50/50 so a "no-consensus=keep" seems more apropos or, if you understand my logic, please understand that there is a significant difference between copyrighted and trademarked images and the image has no reason to be deleted in the first place.
Thanks. — BQZip01 — talk 17:49, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- If they had been re-tagged and FURs added where required, I would have kept them. If you will agree to fix the tagging and clean-up as necessary, I will restore all 3. --After Midnight 0001 18:24, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- Some (if not all) were ineligible for copyright in the first place, ergo, no FUR would be needed.
- In any case, I will be happy to fix the tagging issues. However, I don't want to make changes to an image under discussion. Perhaps I need to make that clear in my assertions? Your thoughts? — BQZip01 — talk 06:59, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- It is my belief that things that can be fixed should be fixed, so any image which can be remediated, should be. We don't just notify people of pending deletions so that they can explain themselves and "vote", but also so that users can fix the problems. You should not unlist something that you fix, but you should note that you did fix it and how, so that an admin can close the discussion appropriately. I'll restore these 3 images (and the one from the below discussion) so that you can take any necessary actions. --After Midnight 0001 13:56, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Photo Deletion
I was wondering what was up with the photo deletion of the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan. The issue had been resolved. Discussion is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2010_February_26#File:Ross_Business_School_2010.jpg
File:Ross Business School 2010.jpg
Not to mention a photo was put up here that runs into the same problem as the one deleted and no action has been taken. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Michigan_Ross_School_of_Business_Entrance.jpg AndrewHorne (talk) 17:55, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- File:Michigan Ross School of Business Entrance.jpg is a commons image and does not bear disscussion on Wikipedia.
- What makes you say that Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2010_February_26#File:Ross_Business_School_2010.jpg had been resolved? Someone suggested that the image be retagged, but no one did that. As the image was still an issue as it was, I closed the discussion as Delete. --After Midnight 0001 18:31, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
- I also weighed in on this one. I'll be happy to tag the image appropriately, just undelete and say the word! :-) — BQZip01 — talk 07:01, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- Please see above response. --After Midnight 0001 13:57, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm going to go back on this one. I only see a photo of a building. Freedom of Panorama applies, so what exactly is the issue? — BQZip01 — talk 18:01, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- OK. I think the confusion over this one is whether it is a drawing or a photo. There is no metadata that I can see and someone asserted that it was a drawing, and when I saw your note regarding FUR, I thought that you were agreeing that it was a drawing. If it was in fact a drawing, then it would need a FUR, if it is a photo, then FOP can apply, but where is the metadata? --After Midnight 0001 18:41, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- Metadata isn't required. I've uploaded images that were crops/edits of larger photos and the metadata was lost. While it is a good indicator of a personal photo, it is by no means a requirement or indicative of fraud if such data is absent. — BQZip01 — talk 19:38, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't say it was required. --After Midnight 0001 00:57, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
This is a photo I took, it is a good question where the camera information is, it was on there. Well I looked at some others I took that same day and they do not have the Metadata, is it something I clicked when uploading? AndrewHorne (talk) 01:42, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Believe it or not, I don't do any uploading of pictures, so I am sorry to say that I can't help with that technical question. I apologize for the inconvenience. --After Midnight 0001 02:09, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Please explain
Why did you delete these? You aren't really explaining why at the top of the discussions.
— BQZip01 — talk 18:18, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- File:SmilovicJason.jpg - no proof of licensing as site is pw protected. In my opinion would need OTRS to keep.
- File:TMTBus.jpg - I was not willing to give uploader benefit of the doubt.
- File:Doret.jpg - I did not delete this one. I marked it as keep and removed the PUF tag. It was then tagged for deletion as di-orphaned fair use by User:DASHBot and deleted by another admin.
- File:MalcolmXNYSA.jpg - I don't buy the statement on the website about assuming that these images are PD.
- Would you be so kind as to annotate these in the future in your deletion notes? — BQZip01 — talk 19:35, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- I generally annotate where I see it necessary, but I'll try to expand that. Keep in mind that the bot sometimes closes it before I get the chance. Also, of course, I did comment perfectly clearly on File:Doret.jpg, and a simple review of the log, or even clicking on the link for it, would have shown that I didn't delete it, so I'm not sure that my comments will even be read.... --After Midnight 0001 01:02, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, Doret was my bad. As for Smilovec, what policy supports your assertion? What if it was claimed that it came out of an out-of-date publication tha tyou can't get access to (same basic situation...)? 02:37, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- File:JobsLost.jpg? Same basic question. — BQZip01 — talk 02:39, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- I was gone for over a week and just got back and don't really feel like rehashing these at this time. Feel free to take them to WP:DRV. --After Midnight 0001 13:08, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
asking for some support
Hello After Midnight, I saw that you are an admin and hope for some support. I revised the German article of Marcus Schenkenberg completely during the last months and want to revise the English article as well next time. But it would look like a one to one translation then with even a small difference. I don't want to get any trouble by doing so. I guess it will require the import of the German version in this case? Would be very glad, if you helped and explained the procedure how to manage this. On the other hand I feel unsure to master a full translation from German to English… but lets see how far I get. Many thanks in advance and best regards --Sat Ra (talk) 21:08, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Proposed category
Hi, After Midnight! I've just created a new category at "Category:The Byrds audio samples" (sorry, I don't know how to wikilink to categories on talk pages) because there's now a number of Byrds-related audio samples on Wikipedia and I thought it'd be useful to have them all easily located within their own category. I then began to see that many other bands and artists had their own dedicated master category—with sub-categories for audio files, album covers, pictures etc—so I was going to create one for The Byrds at "Category:The Byrds" but I see that a page of this name has already been created and then subsequently deleted by you on 8 August 2007. So, as per the instructions on that page, I though that I should contact you to see whether I would be able to re-create this article or not.
I've read the discussion concerning the deletion of this category at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 August 1 but the arguments being used to support deletion could just as easily be applied to categories by many other artists/bands. In particular, categories like "Category:The Doors", "Category:10,000 Maniacs", "Category:Genesis (band)", and "Category:Sly & the Family Stone" are very similar in terms of scope and number of sub-categories to how a Byrds' master category would be. In addition, a Byrds-related master category would be much bigger than some of the categories that do exist, like "Category:The Fall (band)", "Category:Gil Scott-Heron", and "Category:Janis Joplin". I just wondered what your thoughts on this matter were. Perhaps there's a very good reason why a "The Byrds" category shouldn't be allowed but I'm afraid that I can't see it. --Kohoutek1138 (talk) 21:27, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Restore image
Hi there, just letting you know I'll be re-adding an image file File:CARRS-Q logo.jpg - it was deleted because it wasn't used in an article (actually it was, but the article was still a userspace draft of mine - the article is now live: CARRS-Q). Could you please let me know if there is an easy way to restore it, or if I should not add it yet for some reason? Thank you! Lowstep (talk) 00:17, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'll restore it for you now. You'll need to add a fair use rationale within the next 7 days. --After Midnight 0001 00:29, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

- I did that because of this edit. I'm happy to give more detail; please let me know if you want me to explain further. --After Midnight 0001 02:35, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying. Your reply does clear things up. That other editor could have took two seconds to close the discussion properly but chose not to. Thankfully that editor hasn't edited WP:PUF in awhile.--Rockfang (talk) 05:02, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
While perhaps understanding User: Duffbeerforme's removal of the dozens of mini reviews that comprised the article, I have determined that When the Lights Go Down has itself been both praised and panned in multiple reliable sources for years.[1] I have added some citations to the article, and with the many many more that are available, feel that the book has an independent notability through GNG. Care to help add more reviews? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 08:58, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but that research is not something that I can devote time to right now, but the article is vastly improved and I'm withdrawing the AFD. --After Midnight 0001 10:30, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- I understand well having time constraints. Thank you though very much for the withdrawal. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 16:25, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
- the article is 'vastly improved'? I understand that before it was maybe risking copyvio, but with all the links to actors/directors/events in history, the blue hyperlinks I mean , it was , before, something wikipedia was well placed to do. Now it is such that any google search on the book will deliver. Why don't you 'improve' Taking It All In too? why do you leave some articles and 'improve' others? before it had images , and text that gave you a sense of kaels style..now its been neutered. Why don't you improve the books of clive james TV criticism The Crystal Bucket, say or Visions Before Midnight. is that copyvio? These are rhetorical, exasperated , questions - no reply soughtSayerslle (talk) 20:02, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

- Thanks for stopping by. I have been back for a bit, but I've been keeping a lower profile I guess that I used to. Lots of grunt work disambiguating things. Doing some admin work deleting stuff, but trying to stay away from the contentious things for a while. I hope you have been well. --After Midnight 0001 21:44, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
- I have, and I too have been focusing more on technical/admin work (mainly at CFD) and some article-writing; I will occasionally involve myself in a contentious issue, but not ones that touch on too many issues or are likely to continue for months. Anyway, it's good seeing you around again. -- Black Falcon (talk) 00:39, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

That image that you edit-warred over the tagging of was deleted. So that was worth your time... [rolls eyes] ╟─TreasuryTag►Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster─╢ 17:16, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- I never said it shouldn't be deleted, just that it did not qualify for speedy deletion. Is there some other point that you are trying to make? --After Midnight 0001 17:58, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- Not even close.... Many users fix images in the 7 days that they're awaiting deletion, and that certainly could have occurred in this case as well. That is a good part of the reason for the delay in the process. WP:SNOW would apply to copyvios, etc. but certainly not to an inadequate rationale. As for telling an admin that they are required to ignore a rule; now THAT would be pointless. If you think you know so well how everything should be done, perhaps you should try to become an admin and see if the community agrees with you? --After Midnight 0001 21:46, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Deepti
Hi, where is the non free use rational? I cant see one at all? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DeeptiBhatnagar.jpg the picture is not in use and has clearly been chosen specificaslly as a sexy picture and is not a fair representation of the film in general, it would be better and less trouble deleted. Off2riorob (talk) 15:14, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- There is a box on the page which shows a "Non-free media use rationale for Deepti Bhatnagar". However, as you note, at this time the article is not using the image. Also, It is missing license and source. I'll put some new tags on the image and it will likely get deleted in another week. --After Midnight 0001 20:44, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for that. Off2riorob (talk) 20:49, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Can you please restore Image:Aquateen Hunger Force logo.png? I'll add FUR to it for use on the show's page. —Ost (talk) 15:34, 10 May 2010 (UTC)
- Done. I've put a new tag on the file to give you a week to add the FUR. Also, note that it was orphaned, so you'll need to add it back onto the appropriate article. When you finish the FUR, go ahead and remove the NFUR tag from the file. --After Midnight 0001 20:50, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Copyright of Soundpool hires 4
Hey, about http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Soundpool_hires4.jpg&action=edit&redlink=1, the source is the band's webpage, [2], under the section "Media Kit" with a link to download the high res image for use in media/promotion. Would this be considered fair use? I'm sorry I haven't logged in in a while, and the image has already been removed. However I believe it is suitable for wikipedia, and I'd like to take the steps to put it back. Thank you. Phixxor (talk) 04:13, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- Many images may qualify for non-free use depending on the article they are used on and the purpose of the image in that article. Please check out WP:NFCC.

- Hi there! This is to let you know that I have undeleted the image as it is licensed under the GFDL and the circumstances behind the office decision no longer apply. If you do not feel this is appropriate, please feel free to delete the image again, at which time I'll advise TarzanASG to open a DRV thread. Undelete request
Hi. You recently deleted the photo on the wiki entry for Bruce Feiler. This photo was taken directly off of the author's own web site (http://brucefeiler.com/about/press-kit) with his explicit permission. Kindly do what you need to do to reinstate this photo. Thanks very much. Jd12568 (talk) 17:56, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- I assume that you are asking about File:Bruce Feiler 01 lg.jpg which was deleted for not having a license tag applied. If I restore the file for you, will license the file appropriately?

I would like your opinion on the following. Is this a legitimate use for a talk page? John Bessa has a real problem with Knight of BAAWA and myself, and has seen fit to use his talk page as a kind of blog detailing his feelings about us. I have had very little interaction with this user, beyond removing his rants from a couple article talk pages, which I felt was a completely legitimate edit. At any rate, I would like to see an admin. weigh in on this. Thanks. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 16:04, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- At first glance, this certainly does not seem appropriate, however there appears to be far too much detail present for me to say more without studying it in depth. Perhaps listing something at Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts may be helpful? --After Midnight 0001 16:59, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, that might be the right solution. If I could figure out what his complaint is, I might be able to talk to him. But, I simply cannot make any headway with all that information he has on his page, and his combative/put-upon attitude does not help. The great majority of his edits, fully 85%, are to talk pages, and he clearly bristles at being told what he can say there-in. I have never made a Wikiquette alert, but I suppose it is self-explanatory? ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 17:16, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- I think that everything you need should be located at Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts#Overview. I'm not sure that this will work, but it seems to be a good non-too-threatening starting point, and it looks like people there will advise if RFC or some other process would be better to follow. --After Midnight 0001 17:21, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
- I appreciate the advice. I filled out the report, in neutral terms, and we will see what transpires. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 18:22, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Category:Asexual Wikipedians
I see you were the last person to delete this category, in 2007. I do not see that it is eligible for deletion under CSD-G8. (cf. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/asexuality). It should be a valid category, for I am sure that categories for LGBT Wikipedians exist. Thank you for your time. 75.179.176.190 (talk) 06:50, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Blocking of public library IP addresses, and IP addresses in general
Hi After Midnight -
I note your block here of an IP known to be a public library. Please do not block public library IPs for more than a day; there is a constant turnover of users at those IP addresses, and a brief look at the contributions of that particular IP shows that, except for the vandalism you legitimately blocked for, the previous 200 contributions were all valid and valuable edits. More particularly, it is not acceptable to block IP addresses indefinitely; not even open proxies are blocked that way. I hope you will keep this in mind in the future. Thanks. Risker (talk) 21:14, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
- I'll chalk this one up to an oversight in trying to protect the main page at the time. I don't remember much about my thought processes when I did it, other than seeing an repeated block history and figuring that if it was a problem someone would request an unblock which another admin would review. --After Midnight 0001 10:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Notice of user problem
Hi After Midnight... I've been trying to carry on a civil discussion with User:Altaileopard on references which he's somewhat confused on. Anyway, he has a Category:Megafauna of Africa insert on his discussion page. I corrected it by adding and extra set of brackets [ ] so that it would not appear on the category article/page. He reverted it so now it appears. I'm going to alter it again as a Reviewer and hope he doesn't repeat it again.Noles1984 (talk) 00:44, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of Image Due to Lack of Non-Use Rationale
You have deleted our image File:Anythinklibraries logo.jpg because of a lack of non-use rationale. I would like to add the rationale and other information included in the template on the non-free use rationale page, but I wasn't sure if I should add this again or if you can "undelete" somehow.
