Interesting project you left me a message on. Thanks. Are you interested in the domain wikimotorcycles.org? Bdegroodt (talk) 05:51, 27 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE wikimotorcycles.org, I am the domain owner and had to terminate the project due to limited time. I'm seeking a buyer of the domain and someone that'll put it to proper use. Bdegroodt (talk) 23:59, 20 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm interested in any information/photos that you may have on Prince Murat Elementary at the former Dale Mabry Air Base in Tallahassee, FL. I understand that it was moved and renamed as the Southside Elementary School. Then later renamed again to Leonard A. Wesson Elementary School. i have searched and searched and found nothing of the history of this school. I've found relatives of key players that have been apart of this school. That's how i have the information i have. If any more information or photos that you may provide would be most apriative. If you need to contact me my email is christiew@mail.leon.k12.fl.us. Red county

edit

Hi Noles, it is good to hear from you. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble though.

I can't quite understand how or why you got directed to WP:ANI. I do see that Red County is a redirect to a mention of a county by that name in an article on a video game. Red county does not exist. I don't see any evidence of you being blocked from editing either one, so I am not sure what is going on.

The way to handle multiple things with the same name is typically through a disambiguation page such as George Bush. If one of the uses is clearly predominate over the others then the simple form can redirect to the most common usage and then a note left at the top of the page. Compare the treatment of George Bush to George Washington, for instance.

In terms of posting at WP:ANI, if you still feel you need to post there, try clicking on a section to edit and then adding your new section at the bottom of that section. Or, try having your post composed and ready to copy/paste. Either of those should help you avoid edit conflicts.

I'm not sure if I've answered your question or not. Please let me know. Thanks, Johntex\talk 17:33, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Newport Florida rc00182.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 21:20, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Proposed deletion of Sir John Fiennes

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Sir John Fiennes, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

The subject of the article never acceded to a peerage and is of genealogical interest only. He can be discussed in the article on his father, whom he predeceased.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Astian

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Astian, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Piacenzian. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:59, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of G-W Invader

edit
A tag has been placed on G-W Invader, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Yintaɳ  21:04, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from G-W Invader, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Yintaɳ  21:10, 12 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Minor edits

edit

High Noles,

Per wp:minor, edits that change the meaning of an article shouldn't normally be marked as minor. Looking at your recent contributions, I see they're all marked as minor... perhaps you've inadvertantly ticked the "Mark all edits minor by default" check box in the Editing tab of your user preferences? Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 15:51, 21 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

In a nutshell, a minor edit is one that could never be the subject of any kind of dispute. For example, fixing a typo, making a spelling correction, and reverting unambiguous vandalism are all minor edits. Anything else should be considered a major edit, and if you're ever unsure, it's safest not to mark an edit as minor. The importance is that some editors choose to hide minor edits when viewing page histories or recent changes so they can focus on substantive changes.
Nice work on all the new articles, by the way :-) Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 16:08, 21 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Grey wolf

edit

It's not a matter of which one I prefer, it's a matter of which one is true. One says the grey wolf originated 300,000 years ago; the other says it originated 3,400,000 years ago. I reverted to the 300,000 year version because it was cited, and because Grey wolf has been a featured article for a long time and still has lots of people working on it, so I doubted there was a gigantic error in the lead. Perhaps it's the Canidae family as a whole that originated 3.4 million years ago, and not the grey wolf specifically? I'm only guessing. Anyway, I need to go to bed, so if you want to discuss it more it would be best to use Talk:Grey Wolf. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 16:17, 21 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request for clarification at Bear dog

edit

I think you misunderstood my request for clarification at the above article. The text at present states that the Amphicyonidae belong to the sub-family Amphicyoninae. Clearly, that isn't what you mean to say (and, indeed, isn't what the source quoted says), so I was asking what the sentence is intended to mean. In other words, when you say "these taxa belong to...", which taxa are you talking about? The text needs clarification, so that the reader can understand what you're saying here. Thanks. Re: Standing rules...

Ah fair enough. Well I am no expert in these standing rules so however you think it is appropriate for the article. The article Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church (Florida) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

tagged with reference concerns for months, claims of notability not backed up with citations

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 15:30, 15 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Noles1984, just wanted to say: I started to italicize all the genus and species names in the list in this new article. However I may not be able to finish doing it, since I have a lot of stuff to do in Real Life and in WikiProject Gastropods. If you have time, you may want to finish italicizing the names yourself. Let me know if you have any trouble working out which names are family names and therefore not italicized (they end in -idae), and so forth. Geography and ecology of the Everglades

edit

Hello. I wrote the above article and I'm noting your edits to it. Two issues concern me. The first is the language bordering on jargon in this passage: the Florida peninsula was a shallow eutropical subsea known as the Dade Subsea, the first of many subseas of the Oligocene Okeechobean Sea. For readers unfamiliar with geology (and I count myself among them), this statement has very little meaning. I am not afraid of being technical, but is there a way we can work to make this relevant to casual readers? Before the edit it read the Florida peninsula was a shallow sea floor. Noting that "sea" is used four times in what replaced it (Tony1's head would explode if he read it), there must be a bridge between "sea floor" and the linking of eutropical subsea.

The second issue is the removal of cited content (well, and the fact that the above is not cited) in the sentence The peninsula has been covered by sea water at least seven times since the earliest bedrock formation. Why reason do you have of taking this out? It is a very reliable source. Thank you. --Moni3 (talk) 21:29, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. You removed cited information in the Everglades article without an explanation. You inserted a sentence about the Hawthorne Formation in the Geography and ecology of the Everglades article with an incomplete citation. I have reverted both edits because these are GA and FA class articles, respectively, and your edits do not seem to improve the quality of the articles.
The Everglades article has the more in-depth discussion about the geology underneath the Everglades, where all five geologic formations that comprise the southern tip of the Florida peninsula are included. A link in the Geography and ecology of the Everglades article directs interested readers to this section. It is perplexing why only the Hawthorne Formation would be discussed (in the Geology and ecology of the Everglades article where only a brief summary of geologic issues exists) when other formations such as the Miami Limestone and the Fort Thompson Formation affect the soil and plant life of the Everglades more profoundly. I am not trying to own these articles, but maintain them with very high standards. Communicating what you are trying to achieve would be helpful. I am not opposing incorporating new or different information as long as it is well-cited and reliable and adds to the overall comprehensiveness of the articles. --Moni3 (talk) 17:57, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think here you added some wrong information to Megantereon. The given source for example des not say, that Megantereon had a fossil range between 10.4 and 1.8 Million years... and that is definitely wrong. So I reverted your edit.--Altaileopard (talk) 20:39, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The oldest fossil evidence I can find is:
  • Asia, Punjab, Pakistan, est. age: 11.61—5.33 Ma. John Finarelli, Ph.D., University of Michigan. March 28, 2002.
  • Europe, Seneze (Domeyrat), France. Est age: 5.33—0.011 Ma. A. Turner, Ph.D., Liverpool John Moores University, H. O'Regan, Ph.D, Sept 6, 2004.
  • N. America, U.S. (Florida). Est age: 7.9—7.8 Ma (Appearance Event Ordination), Nick Pyenson, Ph.D., University of California-Berkely[2] and Mark D. Uhen, Ph.D., George Mason University, [3] Sept. 27, 1993.
I believe the specimen from N. America will be the most accurate since it does use the AEO method for more exact dating.

New Years Message for WikiProject United States

edit

With the first of what I hope will be monthly newsletters I again want to welcome you to the project and hope that as we all work together through the year we can expand the project, create missing articles and generally improve the pedia thought mutual cooperation and support. Now that we have a project and a solid pool of willing members I wanted to strike while the iron is hot and solicite help in doing a few things that I believe is a good next step in solidifiing the project. I have outlined a few suggestions where you can help with on the projects talk page. This includes but is not limited too updating Portal:United States, assessing the remaining US related articles that haven't been assessed, eliminating the Unrefernced BLP's and others. If you have other suggestions or are interested in doing other things feel free. I just wanted to offer a few suggestions were additional help is needed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or suggestions or you can always post something on the projects talk page. If you do not want to recieve a monthly message please put an * before your name on the members page.--Kumioko (talk) 03:53, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:40, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of The Blue Buffalo Company

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Blue Buffalo Company, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Phearson (talk) 02:24, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Horseshoe Plantation pr08630.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Horseshoe Plantation pr08630.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Proposed deletion of Irving Berlin (editor)

edit

The article Irving Berlin (editor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP. One uncredited acting role and while he may have had a significant career as an editor, film and tv editors generally get little or no coverage. None was found in this case.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Age ranges for extinct cetaceans

edit

Hi. I noticed you created or contributed to several articles on extinct cetaceans. You've put that certain genera existed for a certain period of time (e.g. 47-36 mya). Aren't those the estimated dates from the formation they were found in and not the period of time they existed? The sources you cited simply give those age ranges, but didn't specifically say the genera in question existed for say 11 million years. SaberToothedWhale (talk) 21:48, 29 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Lake Wawasee Buttermilk Point p0391.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Lake Wawasee Buttermilk Point p0391.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 03:13, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use of File:Leon High School rc00665.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Leon High School rc00665.jpg. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. If you feel that this image does meet those criteria, please place a note on the image description or talk page explaining why. Do not remove the {{di-fails NFCC}} tag itself.

An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

I've noted that a similar upload is tagged as public domain. Could this be re-tagged also to sidestep the NFCC issue? CT Cooper · talk 22:37, 2 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Harri Hursti.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Harri Hursti.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 06:46, 23 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for File:Joseph_Chaires_Grave01.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Joseph_Chaires_Grave01.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) 19:08, 24 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Lake Wawasee Buttermilk Point p0391.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Lake Wawasee Buttermilk Point p0391.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [4], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. January (talk) 17:13, 11 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your upload of File:Cape St George Island Fl.png or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. File permission problem with File:San Luis Marker.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:San Luis Marker.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.

Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:37, 13 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Eli Lilly Industrialist.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Eli Lilly Industrialist.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included.

You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 10:25, 21 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of By Nature

edit

The article By Nature has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable brand. Can only locate one review that I would consider a WP:RS (from dogfoodadvisor.com and I would only call them RS because they have an editorial policy/disclaimer). All other Ghits are non-reliable websites that copypaste company info and add SEO about possible recalls to obtain hits.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 17:15, 28 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of By Nature

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on By Nature, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Addiction Foods

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Addiction Foods requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Deletion discussion about The Chaires School

edit

Hello, Noles1984,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether The Chaires School should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Chaires School .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of Tree Line USA

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Tree Line USA requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.arborday.org/programs/treelineusa/summary.cfm and and its subpages. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Bellevue Plantation House.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Bellevue Plantation House.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. King of ♥ 04:21, 13 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Two Woodlawns?

edit

Hi, Noles, and thanks for your work on Leon County history. Just discovered there are articles for Woodlawn (Leon County) (a plantation) and Woodlawn Plantation (Florida) (a Leon County plantation). Do these refer to the same plantation? If not, how do we make the distinction between them clear? I want to make sure I just linked to the right one.

(I live in Birmingham AL but come from Red Hills people in Florida and Georgia. Just visited Tall Timbers for the first time last month. Since then I've noticed that you started all of the Wikipedia articles that most interest me lately.) — ob C. alias ALAROB 16:21, 2 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
