New page reviewer granted

Hi Amkgp. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 18:28, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Help

Hello, I recently created the Bettles Bay State Marine Park page. It was moved to the draft space for lack of citations. However, there exists almost nothing about this park. Even on the official Alaska.gov site, there only exist a single sentence about the park. Does this mean that the page should not be created at all? - Thanks, User:PeakAsian 21 October 2020.

PeakAsian, as per notability guidelines, an article needs to be supported by verifiable sources to asses its notability and to remain as an article. ~ Amkgp 💬 15:17, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

If I added a citation, would that be acceptable? Thanks. - ~ PeakAsian —Preceding undated comment added 15:35, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

PeakAsian, Yes, the reference needs to be WP:RELIABLE. ~ Amkgp 💬 15:38, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

Ok, I added citations to the article and have submitted for review. Thanks. - ~ PeakAsian —Preceding undated comment added 15:48, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

PeakAsian, accepting your offline references on the ground of WP:GOODFAITH ~ Amkgp 💬 15:52, 21 October 2020 (UTC)

Feedback on Cleaspring Ltd Wiki page

Hi.

You kindly gave us some feedback on my page for Clearspring Ltd. I was hoping you could have a look at the updated copy and page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jag872 (talkcontribs) 08:51, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Jag872, I have two suggestions: (a) add {{Infobox company}} and (b) remove excessive links as per Wikipedia:External links#Minimize the number of links. Please refer WP:NCORP for help.

Discussion about an article I created on Wikipedia

Hey! I am a Wikipedia editor as you might know. I had created a Wikipedia page named Omkar International School, Dombivli, which, as far as I know, has been reverted to drafts by you. If you think that the Wikipedia article is not appropriate, please inform me that what edits should I do. If you doubt the authenticity of the page, then you no need to worry at all. The page is giving 100% relevant information. Please publish the page again if you can, please.

Thank you and you have a good day ahead. Meet Jagtap (talk) 15:18, 22 October 2020 (UTC)

Meet Jagtap, The article/draft should be in accordance to Wikipedia's General notability guideline and WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. Currently, the draft fails at both.
If you require further help, please drop your queries at the AfC Help Desk or at Teahouse, a friendly space on Wikipedia where experienced editors lend a hand to help new editors like yourself! ~ Amkgp 💬 15:24, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
Amkgp, Okay, I understand that this is one of the precautions Wikipedia takes, still, I am ready to post photos of the school.

Request on 18:23:37, 24 October 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Garikoitz Knörr

Hello, and thank you for reviewing the page about my brother, Eneko Knörr. The text on the page https://angelinvestorschool.com/speakers/eneko-knorr/ was written by himself, and when I asked him for his bio to create his Wikipedia page, he sent me that text and of course he gave me permission to use it. If that explanation is not enough, please let me know and I'll edit and modify the text. Alternatively, if there is anything else I can do, any help will be much appreciated. Thank you, Gari Garikoitz Knörr (talk) 18:23, 24 October 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Marinus Vreugde

Hi, you have recently accepted Draft:Marinus Vreugde, which should never have been accepted. Major problems include:

  • It is a poor machine translation. The Dutch word "Vreugd" (his surname) is translated as "Joy", as can be seen in sentences like "Joy was a son of " and "Joy made construction sculpture".
  • The article was at the wrong title, it is "Marinus Vreugd", not "Marinus Vreugde" (probably a translation "back" from "Joy"...)
  • It also has no indication at all that it is a translation of the Dutch Wikipedia article, which is required (preferably in edit summary and at the talk page)
  • The sourcing is dreadful, with things like " "De Heerenveense Courant maakt gebruik van cookies". toestemming.ndcmediagroep.nl." and " "DPG Media Privacy Gate". myprivacy.dpgmedia.nl. ". Not only are the titles ridiculous, but have you even opened these sources? That "Heerenveense" one doesn't work, and the other one leads to an article which has nothing to do with Vreugd or the fact it supposedly cites.

Please be more careful when accepting articles (in general, and certainly with this user). Fram (talk) 08:59, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Fram, Yes, you are absolutely right.   Self-trout myself. Thanks for the pointing the errors and moving back to draft-space. Needs to be more careful with with the user. ~ Amkgp 💬 13:19, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, Amkgp. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Eddie891 Talk Work 17:37, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

Fair use logo schoolname articles

I see you have found one of the many files I uploaded in that format. File:Fair use logo Harris Academy Rainham.png As long as the link to the article infobox is updated at the same time I have no opinion on what they should be called. I do point out the Fair_use_logo prefix is there to prevent file-name conflict. The file name is checked by as valid by the Upload Wizard. There is a requirement that the image name should be as informative as possible: it is a logo and it is fair use, which makes it easier to help newbies. Removing the prefix results in a filename that is incorrect as these files illustrate an attribute of the current management of the school not the physical entity we have written about in the article. If there was an important principle that needs to be discussed- I would expect it to be open on the WP:WPSCHOOLS talkpage: --ClemRutter (talk) 17:11, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

ClemRutter, The licensing of logo {{Non-free logo}} clearly defines it to be fair use. Thus its non-necessary to be mentioned in the name. The proposed name do not create conflict. Since you mention Removing the prefix results in a filename that is incorrect as these files illustrate an attribute of the current management of the school not the physical entity we have written about in the article. I am withdrawing my rename request. Thanks — Amkgp 💬 18:19, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Sansad TV

No issues in your putting the page in draft. However, I made the page because a lot of people, especially mediapersons in India, have started searching for this. I had given a link to highly authoritative source on this news and thought that people should know the correct facts [and updates as things develop]. So, the scanty info was published.
