Unplugged (smartphone) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Unplugged (smartphone), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Hello, I'm Butlerblog. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Language of Jesus, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ButlerBlog (talk) 12:28, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Noting specifically what you added, I don't disagree with the premise of what you added, but it is entirely unsourced and as such, it is original research. Don't add statements of that magnitude without a cited source. ButlerBlog (talk) 12:30, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
"Jesus" is the anglicized Greek version of the Hebrew name "Joshua." It is explained in the main Jesus article. You can consult Wiktionary. --Arbeiten8 (talk) 19:41, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
It doesn't matter. It needs to be cited. Read WP:WHYCITE. It likewise doesn't matter what is in other articles. Wikipedia cannot be used to source itself (WP:NOTSOURCE). If you don't understand, ask. This is a primary content guideline so understanding how/when to cite material is important. ButlerBlog (talk) 21:25, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Did I stop you from contributing and improving the article? Arbeiten8 (talk) 21:52, 16 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

List of infant monarchs moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to List of infant monarchs. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Warm Regards, Miminity (talk) (contribs) 07:30, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Edit request

edit

Hi. I noticed you answered an edit request to remove the old name of the subject of the article. Per MOS:NB, if the subject is known by their old name professionally prior to the name change, as is the case in this article, the name should be listed in the article as a former name. You changing it without any discussion goes against the letter of the guideline and such change should be made through consensus on the talk page first. I reverted the edit and would just caution making any such change again without discussing in and achieving consensus for the change first. cyberdog958Talk 03:03, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ms. Steele wasn't notable at all until this documentary came out. In fact, we didn't have an article on her until the documentary premiered. Arbeiten8 (talk) 03:06, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
In this case, multiple of the references used in the article refer to the subject by their former name, so the former name should be listed or else it wouldn't even make any sense to the uninformed reader. If anything of their career is mentioned to prior the name change, and if any reference refer to the subject with their former name, it should be kept in the article once per the guideline. cyberdog958Talk 03:17, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The references are made with male names for Vivian Wilson (publicly done by her father, New York Post, and many others), Rachel Levine, and others. Don't harm people emotionally. Arbeiten8 (talk) 03:20, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is inappropriate to resort to personal attacks. Reach consensus on the talk page before making the change on a contentious topic and there should be no problem. cyberdog958Talk 03:27, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Can you be patient? Can you stop badgering me with your constant retorts on my talk page? Please wait to see if others will chime in on the relevant talk page.Arbeiten8 (talk) 03:31, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Me responding to your statements on your talk page do not constitute badgering me with my constant retorts. cyberdog958Talk 03:42, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Just 1 question. Can you wait like me? This will allow others to comment. Arbeiten8 (talk) 03:45, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
And again, if consensus is reached to remove the name on the talk page, that is one thing. But the change should not be made unilaterally without discussion. cyberdog958Talk 03:18, 26 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
