User talk:BMA-Nation2020/Archive 2
July 2022
editYou currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Illumination productions. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Indagate (talk) 20:05, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
- Hey there. You made an edit, it got reverted, and now it's getting discussed on the talkpage. Continuing to reinstate your preferred version of a table - and you're at four now - is edit warring. I am going to restore status quo one more time, and I strongly suggest you leave it until the discussion is finalized. NekoKatsun (nyaa) 20:47, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion
editHello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Indagate (talk) 20:57, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

. Ad Orientem (talk) 00:06, 19 July 2022 (UTC)You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. Coming off a 48 hr block and immediately returning to your edit warring does not look good. If this does not stop I will block you indefinitely. Ad Orientem (talk) 13:26, 21 July 2022 (UTC)
Advice after unblocking
editPlease remember what User:NekoKatsun told you earlier in the discussion about the table for List of Illumination productions, "this is Wikipedia, which is a collaborative venture. You don't get to unilaterally decide if something is "final" or not, and that sort of mindset isn't helpful to collaboration."
The wording you use in your comments and edit summaries suggest WP:OWNERSHIP and it could land you a block under WP:NOTHERE if you continue to push this mindset in your editing. I hope we do not reach these levels -Gouleg🛋️ harass/hound 14:03, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

editHello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Justiyaya 00:04, 4 August 2022 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
edit Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Skydance Media into Draft:Skydance Animation. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:09, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

editExcuse me BMA-Nation2020,
I'm well-aware of your reverts on any new changes you make to the Skydance Animation page. I care about accuracy on the page. While I may have a missed small details in certain places, I am highly attentive on what I cite and list on my pages. I've gathered that you simply want to the page to stay exactly as it was when you last left it, despite that what I contributed was sourced and correct even if you didn't fully read the sources or just don't like to see change. You seem to know a decent amount about what has been reported about the studio, but it's not fair to neglect mention of any information you don't want mentioned for personal reasons. You also keep reposting false information, such as "Ray Gunn" releasing before "Pookoo", for which there is no source to back this up. The proper etiquette is to list it later since it has been in production for three years fewer, was announced second, and the studio has not announced that it will release "Ray Gunn" before "Pookoo".
I also undo edits when I think I misunderstood, such as the story and screenplay section, which I restored to your version. I am not above correcting my own edits, but I have not seen the same courtesy demonstrated by you. You speak to me like you are an administrator, but judging by your page, you have encountered issues at Wikipedia before. This is my attempt to resolve this with you now, and please know that I have no issue with taking this up to others if this escalates further. If something I write is actually wrong, please correct it as I just stated I can make mistakes, but don't undo the majority correctly sourced information that I worked hours to organize and cite correctly; it is not respectful. I can't say I expect much from this, but I'm going to try.DESERTSCHo0L20 (talk) 05:07, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hold on. I like the one you made. It’s reasonable. That’s good for now. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 05:08, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- Okay, sorry about the situation. I don’t try to make things harder for others; sometimes I just need to make smaller edits at a time. If anything can be condensed, there’s always the talk page, and I’ll keep trying to be updated on the official guidelines. Thanks again.DESERTSCHo0L20 (talk) 05:16, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
- I understand but there’s a lot of gaps in between these collums and i don’t want any gaps screwing up. Besides, i haven’t got a single word about Pookoo. If anything happens to Pookoo, Ray Gunn would be third in line due to having a composer being the third announced so far. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 05:19, 20 September 2022 (UTC)

editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Pixar films, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Silverman. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

editPlease stop removing the writers from the Paws of Fury infobox, especially without any explanation. The infobox should reflect the onscreen credits, and not what you may think is "correct." Thanks. Trivialist (talk) 20:15, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- i did have an explanation in the talk page. this is a mistake. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 20:22, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- Do you really think that somehow the WGA and the producers made a mistake, and no one noticed except for you? Writing credits for productions covered by the WGA are not awarded casually. They have a long manual about how film credits are determined. Go to that page and search for the word "arbitration" to see the sort of detail they go into.
- The credits reflect who wrote the script that was used, whether or not they were involved in the specific production.
- The infobox and article should reflect the credits on the final film, not what you think is "correct." Trivialist (talk) 21:01, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- i'm okay with the producers and the directors. it's just... i'm highly autistic over things that are not right. i wanna fix mistakes but people doesn't understand me like Talk:List of Illumination productions. i don't want things to go badly for who i am. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 21:05, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- I apologize; I may have been a bit of a jerk.
- Screenwriting credits are unusual because, unlike directing or producing credit, it's possible for someone to write a script, sell it, and have absolutely nothing to do with the subsequent production, or for the script to be re-used.
- If you can, think of writing credits as being like "architect" or "designer" credits. The Blazing Saddles writers weren't involved in the construction of this "building," but their blueprints were used, so they are entitled to credit for that. This doesn't happen often, so I am certain that the WGA took a careful look at things before awarding the credits they way they did. Trivialist (talk) 22:19, 9 October 2022 (UTC)
- they weren't doing a good job on making it based on a film. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 22:21, 9 October 2022 (UTC)

- i understand the situation. i reworked it over the story so people would try to make the plot themselves. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 18:58, 11 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. Your explanation is kind of hard to understand. However, you cannot put copyrighted material into an article -- no matter what kind of explanation you give. I see that you are heavily invested in seeing articles look a certain way. In a few cases here on your talk page, experienced editors have said that no one is allowed to do XYZ. If you reply with a reason, that doesn't make it ok.
- For example, above for "Draft:Skydance Animation", you were told that copying within Wikipedia without attribution is not allowed. Your answer was "i know but i'm just mkaing that to make sure it gets a page of it's on". That doesn't matter: it's still true that copying within Wikipedia without attribution is not allowed. Your reasoning doesn't make it OK.
- And here in this section, saying so people would try to make the plot themselves does not make it OK to insert copyrighted material. Please keep this in mind, and please don't insert copyrighted material, no matter what your reasoning is. Thanks, and happy editing. David10244 (talk) 02:38, 19 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello BMA-Nation2020. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:BMA-Nation2020. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=BMA-Nation2020|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 20:48, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to The Bad Guys (film), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. - i was only cleaning it up. BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 02:23, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- Removing information from the lede is not equivalent to cleaning it up. You removed the sentence about who composed the music, and said that the movie was influenced by Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse but removed the fact that it was also influenced by 4 other franchises. That is basically retaining some information while removing other relevant information. Tube·of·Light 08:37, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
- But the rest of that information is in the production section. Discuss this in the talk page of the article, please BMA-Nation2020 (talk) 08:42, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
