File source problem with File:Tohami Khaled.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Tohami Khaled.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.C.Fred (talk) 10:43, 1 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Pavel Yevgenyevich Prigozhin.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Pavel Yevgenyevich Prigozhin.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gert7 (talk · contribs) 06:14, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Oh Sorry! MilianoMir (talk) 06:51, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Unfortunately it seems you have now manually removed the disputed rationale tag without providing any sources on the image or the article that the subject is serving life in prison. Without evidence of this, the file will eventually be deleted. --Gert7 (talk · contribs) 08:05, 3 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable non-free use File:Pavel Yevgenyevich Prigozhin.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pavel Yevgenyevich Prigozhin.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gert7 (talk · contribs) 07:45, 10 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Khamis Gaddafi.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Khamis Gaddafi.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:27, 17 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jananne Al-Ani, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Iraqi Republic was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Hi BasedItalianMonarchist! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore a version of File:Mullah Omar in 1993.webp. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at File talk:Mullah Omar in 1993.webp, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Thank you. TEMPO156 (talk) 02:38, 2 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Discuss

[edit]

Hi B.I.M. You need to start discussing rather than simply reverting edits you don't like.

I know you are quite new here, so I will try and explain what is going on. I am a New Page Patroller, my job is to check that new articles have sufficient sources to be included as articles. The requirements are outlined in WP:GNG and WP:RS. If an article meets these criteria, I (or one of my colleagues) clicks a button and your new page becomes a fully fledged wikipedia page and is listed in search engines.

A very short resume of WP:GNG is that you need two reliable sources that give significant coverage to the topic of the article. You are making articles with a single source. This is why they are being moved to draft for you to improve.

Now, I see you have moved the articles back to mainspace, which you are within your rights to do, but you have also removed the tags stating the article may not satisfy WP:GNG. That's not ok, because you haven't done anything to resolve the problem.

So, I'm going to put the tags back on and give you some time to find sources that support the articles' existence. I would advise you not to remove them as tags should only be removed when the initial problem has been resolved. Boynamedsue (talk) 19:38, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Why did you do this? BasedItalianMonarchist (talk) 19:39, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
If you read what I've written above, I think it's pretty clear? If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them.Boynamedsue (talk) 19:43, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ok but Idk why did you move these pages from these to these? BasedItalianMonarchist (talk) 19:50, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Because when an article isn't ready for mainspace, which those articles aren't, one of our options is to move them to draftspace so that you can work on them. I'd be really grateful if you could put the notability tags back on the articles I put them on, as the problem of sourcing still exists. What you've done there is against our policies.
The best thing to do would be to find more sources and add them to the relevant pages to establish the topic's notability. After that, you can take the tags off.Boynamedsue (talk) 19:56, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
