Fair use rationale for File:Memorial_Book.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Memorial_Book.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. The Steve Biko Foundation

Hi Biko Legacy, Welcome to Wikipedia. It's good to see the The Steve Biko Foundation article on WP. It's important the the article meets the basic rules. The article must contain no original research, fully referenced by third party sources and be written in a neutral way without bias.

You might want to get a helping hand by looking at an example of how to structure an article and what a great article looks like; they flag up some key factors, and pitfalls to avoid, in building the article - these apply to all articles on WP, not just one about the Foundation. Although they are an ideal to aim for, rather than the achievement to reach for today, they give a sense of the ethos behind Wikipedia as an encyclopaedia and learning resource foremost.

The article might feature sections including:

• Lead (main, objectively notable points about the Foundation - ie why it should be featured in an encyclopaedia
• History / background of the organisation Founding / development / organisation crises / notable events - with citations outlining who started, why, why and how - see WP:SOAP and WP:Flea
• Key historical figures and their role s

Perhaps have a look at these featured articles on The Supremes, Bengali Language Movement and Brownsea Island Scout camp and see how they have structured them.

Conflict of Interest

Hello Biko Legacy. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Steve Biko Foundation, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
