You removed link to Living In Bury St Edmunds

Hi Bob,

I noticed a little while ago that someone had kindly added a link to my blog on the Bury St Edmunds page. Today I logged in to edit that link as there was a typo in it. Now I see that you have deleted the link altogether with the message "deleted blog".

Why did you delete it? I believe that my blog is a very useful link for wikipedia users interested in Bury St Edmunds, to which world wide comments in the guest book are testimony.

I have tried to resinstate the link but for some reason am unable to do so. I wonder if you could put it back?

Ye Complaint

This message is for Bob who deleted my link on the Ightham Mote page saying that it was "spam". Your terminology is misplaced and insulting to a set of very fine photographs of Ightham Mote to which I had linked. I would like to inquire about what right you have to delete other people's work? Perhaps you just take it upon yourself - a "self appointed" editor. Or maybe a "self-appointed" spammer might be more appropriate.

Actually its much easier to tell an IP's sense of humour as the country they are in is visible for anyone with an IP locator, if your humour is British it isnt unique, anon, SqueakBox 16:21, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure that theory works, 86.137.133.13, because if you make a personal comment about somebody in jest in person, they can usually tell by your facial expression. Just writing a personal comment about an editor on a Wikipedia talk page can be misconstrued, even if it's meant as fun. I think the No Personal Attacks policy isn't open to that interpretation, as that could just lead to genuine attacks masquerading as "humour". Bob talk 16:48, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Battle of Boldon Hill

I have noticed that you kept reverting from Sunderland winning the battle, to Newcastle winning it. I did use POV when saying it delighted Wearsiders, but the fact remains that the Parliamentarians won the battle with help from the Scots, we eventually went on to beseige Newcastle. Inquiry about Link Spam for Devon articles

Hi Bob. I noticed that you are keen to eradicate inappropriate links (you cleaned up a batch of steam engine-related links that I had spotted yesterday). Occasionally I find users have edited 15+ files adding links, and reverting them all is not a quick process, but I don't want to just leave them. Is there a particular page to report such activity and ask for assistance? The reason I ask is that Salljf77 (talk · contribs) has added local newspaper sites to a number of Devon-related pages... --EdJogg 13:27, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

My blog

Hi Bob,

In the external links section of for example Whisky, there is a bunch of links that leads to people that have sites that talks about Whisky....I cannot see why I should not be able to ad my Blog...that is one of the resources for more information about Whisky online to these external links....isn't external exactly that? Ok. Thanks for the feedback. The links added to for example Islay is because Islay is one of the "Meckas" of Whisky lovers.

However, I accept your thoughts about blogs even though it's strange that some blogs are allowed. I will ad more info in other ways.

(I've been contributing content to Wikipedia under other names since early 2000, so this was just for private project)

Article: History of Newcastle upon Tyne

Hi Bob. I wonder if you can help. I seem to have made a complete mess of editing the above article. I tried to make changes to the first two sections but I seem to have deleted the rest of the article. Is it possible to rollback to the previous version? At the end of the day Bob,I will edit any articles as I see fit. A comment about womens' football being played at The New Denin the context of it being prominent is irrelavant to the article. However, this webiste is one which there isn't much point in editing, because there's always someone else hell bent on discrediting your work. I stand by my decision and wil not apologise for it. I removed the comment from the car park article because it has been confirmed that it is to be demolished this autumn. To say in the article that this is still in doubt is incorrect. Mr. Bean

Hi Bob - I've heard from JSH-Alive that some of the text in my WikiWorld comic about Mr. Bean may be incorrect. Can you clarify whether this is a matter of interpretation, or something more clear-cut? (Here's JSH's note: The sentence about the animated series in the Image:Bean wikiworld.png is incorrect. I watched "Double Trouble", the very last episode of the animated series. In the episode, Bean met a look-a-like man who is, revealed in the final moments, came from outer space. Postman Pat production section

I see that you've re-added the production section that I took out a couple of weeks ago. I have grave doubts about the accuracy of the section, and at the very least, it is need a complete overhaul. As far as I can tell, the only verifiable fact there is that Woodland Productions were the production company of record. Specifically, the HiT site makes no mention of having ever been involved in the production of the series (they are a distributor). The last bits of it trail off into near incoherence. Unless you have an objection, I'm going to delete it again, and merge the Woodland reference into the intro. (update - I've already made the change - take a look and if you think something else needs to be done, let me know.) Majorclanger 17:56, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
