S&M
Hello Calvin. Copy-edit is a fancy way of saying that someone needs to thoroughly read the article and proof-read it if you wll, and craft better prose and sentencing. At present the article reads at a lower level than the current standard for GA articles. And that, I'm afraid, was one of many issues.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 20:31, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- At a first glance it looks much better. Later today I will take a closer look :)--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 11:17, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Calvin. I wasn't sure (I didn't remember) if it did, but I'm glad you confirmed. Anyway, I hope you don't think it is anything personal, but its for the best of the article. As I said if you have any questions or need help I would be glad to help. Now, what exactly do you want me to tell you for S&M? It looks much better, but I thats from a quick glance. I can tell you though that the references need a lot of work. Look at other articles to see how to properly format them. The Emancipation of Mimi uses a lot of the same references, so look and copy the way they are done here.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 00:25, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- Gotcha. Well, I tell you that you will be surprised at how many references you can find on the web, you just got to know how to look through the news archives etc. I didn't know how for my first 15 GAs and it was significantly harder. I'll tell you what, remember that I too am involved in the project. Since you have already done a significant job on the article, I'll step in to help you make it GA status once Legolas fails it. How does that sound?--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:11, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- I understand that you don't really grasp referencing issues, I remember when I didn't know as well, and editors would tell me to format them properly and I had no idea how too. So let me break it down for you. So you got the basics down it seems, so let me take you through a few on S&M so you understand. For ref #1, I don't think its usable. We don't rely on audio or video refs, only text. Now for #2. Instead of having it as "rap-up.com" it should be Rap-Up. Similarly, #5 should be The Guardian, not "guardian.co.uk". Now also remember that it is only the work, the publisher is (it says it on its Wiki page) Guardian Media Group. That is also necessary. Note that the "work=" field will automatically italicize anything, so if its not something that you want in italics, you place "work=Rap-Up| (it won't come up in italics in the ref) so it doesn't come up as italicized. Only printed sources (newspapers etc.) should be in italics, thins like Rap-Up and all other online sources should be basic. Also, whenever an author is available, like on #57. That one needs a lot of work. The author (it says at the top) is Gary Trust. So you should place last=Trust|first=Gary in the ref somewhere. Also, a date is available as well (near his name) date=2011-04-11, like that. As for the rest, Billboard is a printed source (magazine subscriptions) so it should appear Billboard, not Billboard.com Also, it has a publisher Prometheus Global Media. Does this help you a bit? As I said Mimi helps a lot. let me know if you have any other specific questions, I know it takes time to get the hang of it.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:53, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

- I am so sad for Beyonce. The alum should not have leaked. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:37, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- OH YES, they all have viruses waiting o infect your computer. And i agree, i was expecting more form Beyonce. Well i do not know, what i myself mean by more. Maybe a song like "Sweet Dreams" or "Crazy in Love". Please keep posting me the leaks on YouTube for each song. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:46, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Lol i cannot understand what you really mean by those notes but one day i will for sure. Lol. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:02, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- I love "I Miss You". Really love it a lot. A lot. A lot. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:10, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

- "especially as she goes on to talk about I Got You", she is not talking about IGY, she is talking about many things, her voice in the song, the song, "Happy", the album, the producers, how "it" may apply by default to the album? ۞ Tbhotch™ & (ↄ), Problems with my English? 01:52, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

- I am not understanding you really. If I understood correctly you are asking me why I am changing the "ll" to "l"? If it is correct, it should be very obvious: you changed it before, I didn't see this edit and I'm just re-adding your change. As you know the ll creates a dead link. ۞ Tbhotch™ & (ↄ), Problems with my English? 02:14, 7 June 2011 (UTC)

This is definitely the best Beyonce album. I love "Party". To be frank it sounded dull at first but at the fourth listen, i fell in love with it. I love how Beyonce is taking risks with her music. I could not listen to all the tracks. From where did you listen? Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:40, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- According to critics reviews, "Love on Top" is a standout. I have not heard it. Is it really so good? Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:47, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Please send me the whole album please. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:58, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes please send me the rest. I already have "Party", "Run the World", "Best Thing I Never Had", "End of Time". Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:13, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes but they are huge. Normally the songs i have are only 2MB or a little more. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:22, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- Send me "Love on Top". Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:22, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

- Send me "Love on Top". Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:22, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- I LOVE It but not my favorite. My favorite is "I Miss You". But "love on Top" will be a very nice choice as a single. Jivesh • Talk2Me 17:49, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
- I bet it would have been a top 10 hit if Beyonce did not wait for the song to fall at #172 on iTunes before starting her promotion. Very bad timing. That's all i have to say. From which link? Is it free from viruses? Jivesh • Talk2Me 06:07, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

- Just read your message. I think you are right but still i hope Beyonce chooses some dance pop songs for the deluxe edition so as to please the haters. Lol. I really love Beyonce a lot. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:03, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- We cannot rely on titles. Who thought "Party" would be such a slow jam (I really like it though)?!!! How come you gave me four titles? I thought only three new songs and three remixes were going to be included? Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:32, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Beyonce should release remixes on a separate EP for "Run the World" and instead add new songs on the deluxe edition. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:35, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- I noticed "run the World" has become stable on iTunes while BTINH keeps fluctuating. Strange. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:37, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Let me have a look. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:46, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- The structure is fine. Everything seems free from WP:OR. But the references are in bad shape. When you put something here: |work=, it is automatically italicized without the ''x'' thing where x can be any word. You should put those ''x'' only if you do not want them to be italicized. This applies only to formatting of references. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- I have to go now. Goodnight. See you soon. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:55, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Wait. I will try again. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:56, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- If you are writing something on Wikipedia and you want to italicize it, for instance Wikipedia. (Press edit and you will see i have put the '''' thing). However, when you format references using the field |work= , it is completely different. For instance, Billboard will be automatically italicized without the need of putting those '''' things. Jivesh • Talk2Me 19:00, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Read it well. I have to go NOW. I will explain again tomorrow if you do not understand. Jivesh • Talk2Me 19:01, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

- Yes, she is rehearsing for a festival starting by the letter "G". That's what i love about Beyonce, unlike Lady Gaga, she will not say: "Hi. I am coming to England. Rehearsing for my show. I am going to have fun. I love you my little monsters" and so on. Total BS. Jivesh • Talk2Me 18:05, 12 June 2011 (UTC)

An old question of yours
I saw you ask "Surely the song must have been categorised once it started charting, otherwise how would it know what chart to chart on?" in a discussion from last month, and no one really answered you. That really isn't how it works. Songs don't get categorized, outlets do. When Billboard makes a chart like "Hot Latin Songs", it looks at what a group of radio stations that they have identified as "Latin" is playing. If a Lady Gaga song becomes popular enough in the Latin community that Latin radio stations start to play it, then that Lady Gaga song will make the Latin chart. No one ever says "that song isn't Latin, so it doesn't on the chart, but this song is Latin, so it does". That's where the phrase "crossover hit" started: a song that became so popular that it started to show up on ("crossed over to") charts that it really doesn't seem to fit on.
I'm relatively certain that the OCC works the same way as Billboard. I don't know about other countries.—Kww(talk) 13:43, 10 June 2011 (UTC)
RE: Rihanna WikiProject
Yes, I made that proposal but the community does not seem very interested in creating a WikiProject for Rihanna. But as you rightly said, Lady Gaga has one with less pages than RiRi. VítoR™ get LOUD! 17:45, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- No, I guess now we can only wait, cuz the proposal just have two supporters till now. VítoR™ get LOUD! 18:13, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Na na na Come-on
OK so I have finished toning, honing and pruning the article and it is GA ready now. The only thing you need to keep a look for is the date format consistency throughout the references. You are using the "yyyy-mm-dd" format and that is what should be used through all the references. Just give a look-through and correct if you come across any other format. Otherwise, its done. — Legolas (talk2me) 08:54, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

- Ooooooooooooppppppsssssss my mistake. It says she has sold 1 million albums (all albums) in Brazil. Well, that is for sure as I Am... I've been really defensive of my edits on that article because many are known to remove negative reviews from GaGa's articles... --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 19:43, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- To be honest, I just copied and pasted that review from something an IP DID add that was deleted after someone like I just mentioned deleted it for being negative. your question
Hey there Calvin. I'm not sure if Franamax noticed the second question, and to be honest, I don't know enough to explain all the ins and outs of fair use to try to explain because I'm afraid of giving you the wrong answer. Probably one of the BEST folks to help understand that stuff would be User:Moonriddengirl. She's really nice, and really cool, but she is very busy so it might take a day or two. Some of the policies and guidelines are a bit tough to understand because of all the legal talk and all, but the ones Franamax linked to are good starters. Best of luck, — Ched : ? 02:10, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Protection
I have seen you asking people to request for protection of a particular page. I cna help you achieve that yourself only. Go to your preferences and there under tools you will see a gadget's name called Twinkle. Click on the box associated with it and then save your preferences. Now, when you come to an article that has been vandalized, you will see on the top right corner (where you click the edit, history, watch buttons) a small button called "rpp". When you click on it a small box will open. There you can give your reasons as to why you want the article to be protected and then click OK. After some time you will be directed to the WP:RFP page, where you can see your request. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:45, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

- I am fine thanks, one exam more and my summer can start. Well, first we should rework (format) all references, by cite web and cite news templates. I was thinking about making the article by the example of Beyonce's I Am... Sasha Fierce article. It's obvious we should expand it a little bit, and I can see your good at finding sources, maybe we should find sources for the background, music and the artwork. What do you think? Tomica1111 (talk)
- Mmmm... you are right about the references. And about Mariah Carey's album article, wow it's great. I think that definetelly we should use it as an example for writing Loud. Ok look, the communication here will be hard so here's my mail tomica.mk@hotmail.com so we can share links/references easily ! GN ! Tomica1111 (talk)

Fly Like a Bird
Hi Calvin. I actually had no idea, but it turns out I too am working on "Fly Like a Bird". Your work is good, but I have a lot of extra information and additions to make, so please remove it from peer review and don't nominate it for anything until I'm done. I should finish by tomorrow. If you'd like, as things turned out, we can share the GA nomination and both co-nom.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 17:58, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Hello
Hi Calvin! Congrats on your first GA! :) I can see that you've been to Whitney Houston's Nothin' but Love Tour. Did you take any photos?? Also, I don't know if you have heard it, but can you tell me about the key (?) shift towards the end of Houston's song "How Will I Know"?? I hardly know anything about music lol. Well, by key shift I meant the thing that occurs at 3:20 in this video. Can you help me?? What do you call that thing lol? Novice7 (talk) 14:27, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I knew :D Thanks for the info, yes, I'm talking about her voice. As for "OG(ITW)", no problem :) Novice7 (talk) 04:35, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for the detailed explanation :) Thanks heaps! Novice7 (talk) 10:48, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- By tomorrow. I have to read the whole article today lol. Btw, you can start a Background and release section for the article, I think. I found a few sources as you can see :D Keep up the good work here and on youtube ;) Novice7 (talk) 15:15, 2 July 2011 (UTC)
- Google lol :D I searched "Rihanna Only Girl Stargate" and the Vibe.com link came up. Similarly, "Rihanna Only Girl release" and the nydailynews.com link came up :) Novice7 (talk) 04:28, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar | |
I see you everyday trying to improve Rihanna's articles here, some way or another,. Even faced with harsh criticism, you have not lost hope and still continue to learn, and grow as an editor. Hence I present this barnstar for your tireless efforts here in Wikipedia — Legolas (talk2me) 16:01, 1 July 2011 (UTC) |
- Ah thanks! I've wanted one of these for ages! lol. Calvin • 999 20:49, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- No problem with the barnstar. Along with it I just wanted to tell you about the different articles you have put up for PR. The peer review page is backlogged too much, and when you add too many articles per the same nominator, it just increases the load. Result is that most of the time you get a half-assed review as the general reviewers are too busy to go through all the articles. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:37, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Don't worry, you just have to wait for them to become GA. I would have loved to give you opinions like I helped with "S&M", but I have somehow become a tad bit busy these days. You can take a look at WP:FA into the song articles, most recent promotion being "4 Minutes", that was my work. As for PR, I think even you can help by reviewing some of the articles. I generally choose articles about subjects which I'm not aware of at all. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:46, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Lol, no need to panic. Well, you would want to start at some stage I believe? PS, Peer reviews and GA reviews are a great way to increase your wiki-knowledge. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:54, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Of course I'm not against the idea. Please go ahead. — Legolas (talk2me) 10:28, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review Calvin. I'm having my physiotherapy now so will address the comments after an hour. I don't know whether you are aware, I have my left hand and left leg fractured in an accident, and need physiotherapy everyday. Sucks big time man! — Legolas (talk2me) 12:35, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

- Ya I saw it. Goody. PS, do you stay in London? Where in London? I will probably visit there in September for work. I'm joining work from August and expecting significant decrease in wiki activity. I generally stay near Charring cross there. — Legolas (talk2me) 14:46, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Beyonce's Best Thing I Never Had
Hi, you deleted my info that Best Thing is the lead single in Germany. I think this should be included as Run The World never charted in Germany and never got an official release in contrast to the rest of the world. Or how do you guess about it because as Germany is the 3rd biggest music market worldwide and so it's something special if it doesn't reach a release although it's done worldwide... --79.199.26.49 (talk) 17:17, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Can you tell me again what it was you wrote that I reverted. I can't remember what it was specifically. Calvin • 999 17:29, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- I wrote this: "After Run The World (Girls) didn't chart and never received a physical release in Germany, Best Thing I Never Had is released as 4's lead single[1]." --79.199.26.49 (talk) 17:34, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- It did get released in Germany. The Run the World (Girls) article lists it as "Worldwide" here and so does German iTunes here on June 25th, 2011. Ask my friend Jivesh about it, because he has created the '4' related articles and has a lot of info about them. BUT the reason I reverted your edit "After Run The World (Girls) didn't chart and never received a physical release in Germany, Best Thing I Never Had is released as 4's lead single" because:
- I wrote this: "After Run The World (Girls) didn't chart and never received a physical release in Germany, Best Thing I Never Had is released as 4's lead single[1]." --79.199.26.49 (talk) 17:34, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- It didn't make sense to read, was a bit awkward where you wrote it.
- Shouldn't be included in the Lead info section.
- Just because it says on the Charts table on the article that it didn't chart, doesn't mean that it wasn't released or didn't chart, as those two links I just provided show that the song was in fact released. (To be honest, what you wrote isn't really that relevant, it doesn't matter how big the German music industry is.) Calvin • 999 17:50, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- But it was only released digitally... And to be a complete single release in Germany, it's still necessary to be released physically. As long as labels don't allow a digital-only release to chart, it can't, so to chart, a physical release must be done and as this never happened I can't see that Run The World is the lead single in Germany...I guess it's more of a buzz single to promote the new album "4"... --79.199.26.49 (talk) 20:03, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- But either way, it was still released, and peaked at #40 on iTunes, meaning it must have charted in Germany's Top 100? Just no one has added it. It's like BTINH in the UK, it hasn't been released as a single yet, digitally or physically, but has charted at #3. Have you thought that it's perhaps not a buzz single, (which it isn't) but that it just didn't do well in Germany, hence the lack of decent charting? It hasn't exactly done well even in other places around the world, especially the US. Calvin • 999 21:00, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- But it did NOT chart... You can check it, it never happened so far! And I've seen that BTINH reached No. 3 in the UK, so this can't be compared! --79.199.26.49 (talk) 21:27, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- It didn't chart at all despite charting on iTunes in the top 40? There still isn't any need to write that on the BTIMH article that BTINH is the lead single. Because it shows that Run the World was released, but no one bought it, or bought enough to warrant charting. That's very different to saying that it wasn't released at all. Calvin • 999 21:33, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- I guess the reason why it didn't chart was because it didn't reach a physical release. In this case, wouldn't it be a promo single? Because I guess there is a difference between an official single release and a buzz/promo single... --79.199.26.49 (talk) 21:52, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

No, it's not a promo single. You can't release a song as a fully fledged single all over the world and as a promo single in just one country. Just because it didn't do well, doesn't mean it's disregarded as a single. It was released as the lead single from the album, but it just didn't perform in Germany. There's not much else to say. Calvin • 999 21:59, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Digital releases, especially singles do not chart in Germany. An appropriate release there is a physical one. Jivesh • Talk2Me 23:29, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- RTW was indeed a buzz single. Its physical release date was removed from Amazon. Jivesh • Talk2Me 23:31, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Ahh I didn't know that. So it was released as a single, but then they stopped it? Due to bad charting? (btw, I'm shocked you are still up!) Calvin • 999 00:16, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmm no it was not released, i mean not released to chart (no physical release). It was just a buzz single apparently. Actually i woke up at 2 AM (here) to revise. I Physic Paper 2 and 54 and French today. You thought i stayed awake. LOL. Jivesh • Talk2Me 01:40, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

So what happens now? Can this information be added? --79.199.15.116 (talk) 22:47, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Are you on another computer? Your IP address is different. I still don't think it is that relevant tbh. I don't know where in the article you would write that, it kinda seems a bit unnecessary. Calvin • 999 22:56, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- I guess if you're not logged in, you have a different IP address every day, but I don't wanna join the site for some reasons...Perhaps this would fit in the area "Release". This info should be included as it's also done in other threads, something like "it's the 3rd single there but it's the 4th single in France for this and that reason". I guess it happened e.g. in the Rihanna - Hard thread! --79.199.15.116 (talk) 23:01, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you're going to mention it, put it in the release section of BTINH. I'll be checking what you write, but you must add a valid source. Otherwise I'll revert what you write. Calvin • 999 23:05, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Could I take the source I used at first? Because it's not that easy to show it: The fact that it never received a physical release could be proved with the Amazon-page and the fact that it never charted... Well, than I need to show a the musicline.de-page of Beyonce, which in this case, won't show Run The World. In contrast, Amazon announces Best Thing I Never Had's release date which makes it eliable to chart and so it can be seen as an official single in Germany... Right?--79.199.15.116 (talk) 23:12, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think Amazon is an acceptable source on Wikipedia. Calvin • 999 23:15, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- OK, than please tell me what should be done instead :) ! --79.199.15.116 (talk) 23:20, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Well, if you can't find a source from a news site or from a website like Rap-Up, Digital Spy, MTV etc., there's nothing that can really be done. Calvin • 999 23:23, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

PR
For "Only Girl" is up. Sorry if the review seems nitpicked. I tried my best to find the issues out :) Novice7 (talk) 13:39, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- You're welcome.
- Nope. What I meant was you should move the sentence and place it somewhere on the paragraph above. As you know, Composition means the song's music structure, lyrical themes etc.
- The AOL Radio Blog review includes description of the lyrics. Search for reviews, they should have the meaning of the lyrics. Novice7 (talk) 14:06, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Calvin, "You and I" is done. As for the Grammy nominee mention of OGITW, well you don't have to mention them at all, the song won after all, right? — Legolas (talk2me) 14:35, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll do in a minute. I added who she was competing against because the last GA review said so haa. Calvin • 999 14:47, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yes Calv, Lego is right. That's what I meant. And, rotting means destruction (lol) of weblinks. Websites update their pages often and this may result in links becoming unavailable. To avoid that, we archive the page using Webcite or archive.org. As for the MTV VMA Japan, did you search mtv.co.jp? Novice7 (talk) 14:40, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Also, gosh there are three dead links. Plus, the ogg (audio sample) needs to be reduced to 64kbps and jpg (single cover art) should have a definite source. Last, the image in live performances section needs to be aligned left seeing that Rihanna is looking towards her left. Novice7 (talk) 14:45, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah I did look on their website but it hasn't been updated. You put me into an edit conflict! I had to type everything again! haha Calvin • 999 14:47, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

I don't know how you, especially a Carey fan, when something is sourced, can claim "Carey's performance of the song at an intimate concert at Proctor's Theatre on July 15, 1993 was filmed and released as the VHS Here Is Mariah Carey." You obviously don't have an understanding on what is OR at all. Again, "Consecutively, during the song's bridge, Carey watches as the small child's mother carries her to a nearby playground where her friends are frolicking and playing. Similarly, the elderly man is met with some other elderly citizens, who accompany him to another building nearby. During the song's climax, Carey joins the choir, flailing her hands wildly towards the sky, and smiling and gazing into the cloudy morning." is NOT OR, it a summary of a music video. You don't believe it? Watch the video... Its that way in every song article. Please be more versed before failing articles that have waited for reviews for months. I wrote the article in 3 days, so there is no excuse that 7 days is not enough time to make the required fixes.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:05, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you notice, I did say that I don't doubt that what you have used in sources is true, and that I can't say it is completely OR as you do provide, but I can't view any of it to check it, though I wish I could because I'd quite like to read it just for myself because I do like Mariah. It has since been bought to my attention that books are acceptable. You make it sound like I am failing articles for the sake of it, when I haven't. I have placed two of your articles on hold and complimented the detail in which you write. You know that I am not as experienced as say you, Legolas, Novice or Jivesh, and someone told me that a way of improving my knowledge on here is to start reviewing GA's, which I am, so please don't take the fail as anything personal, I'm sure you made mistakes when you started editing on here. Besides, if I hadn't of reviewed AYNAF, who's to say that you would have got a review anytime soon after waiting so long? You might still have waited a few more months. When you have amended all issues APART from the points I made about the books as I now know they are perfectly valid, re-nominate and I will gladly review and pass it straight away. I don't know what else I can say or offer. Calvin • 999 22:54, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- That is fine. I will make the fixes. "Underneath the Stars" was definitely rushed on my part, and you are right in that it has a lot of prose issues. As for ANYAF, I cannot say the same. Calvin, understand this. Book sources are allowed to be used. Go look at every single one of Madonna's articles. Your going to demote all of those as well? Please look and understand that books are allowed. I will let you know when AYNAF is ready.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:59, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I believe "UTS" is done.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 23:07, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I know that now, I just said that I recognise that. I don't really pay attention to Madonna articles lol, or Madonna, for that matter! But only because it has never been pointed out to me and that I have never noticed books in the ref section, that's why I was in a dilemma as to what to do with them with regard to what I wrote. I was going to say something else with regard to what you wrote, but for arguments sake, I won't! lol (went into edit conflict with your last comment lol) Calvin • 999 23:11, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Also, just one thing, in the Composition section of UTS, I don't get what you mean by "Carey wanted to include the latter songs on the album". What does "latter songs" represent? Calvin • 999 23:22, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- The two songs I mentioned the sentence before lol. Also, I think I'm going to re-nominate AYNAF now. I believe I made those fixes as well. Please check it out once the bot has updated the page.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 23:30, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Oh right. I think latter should only be used if you had of written about songs she didn't want to include before those that she did. Just change "latter" to "these two" to avoid confusion, then I'll pass it. And yes I am looking out for AYNAF. Calvin • 999 23:34, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

but it doesn't work! lol. Do i have to fill something in? Calvin • 999 23:48, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- I try using this:
- Under "Topic" write Music. That is all I do. Also, AYNAF is done, however except the inclusion of the dance chart. Usually we only mention prominent and official charts in the sections, unless the song only charted on minor ones. Take a look now :)--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 17:15, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay. I only said about it because it was one of three charts that it actually managed to chart at #1 on. Calvin • 999 17:24, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

- Simple video for a simple song. No need to make it seem more complex than it really is, an over the top storyline would have overpowered the song.Beyonce is just insanely gorgeous without trying. Jivesh • Talk2Me 13:27, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Calvin, be careful when you mark an edit as "minor". According to this, "Adding comments to a talk page", "Adding or removing content in an article" and "Adding or removing references or external links in an article" should not be marked as minor. Just letting you know :) Novice7 (talk) 10:12, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- What? Calvin • 999 13:15, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- What I mean is, edits like this (modifying talk pages) are not minor edits while edits like this are minor edits. As I said, just letting you know. Hope you don't take it personally. Novice7 (talk) 04:44, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

hey (on B'Day GA review)
Wikipedia is for everybody, and wouldn't you guys need help? Just helping out. --Efe (talk) 14:06, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the B'Day review. I think it's a bit unfair to ask "I would like just you to carry out the changes", because Wikipedia is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit". Also, Efe has probably worked on the article more than I have; he brought it up to GA status years ago. Anyway, I have responded to your points at the review. Apart from the unreferenced awards (getting to that now), everything is either replied to or done. Can you please
strikepoints that you feel have been addressed, for the sake of clarity? Thanks. Adabow (talk · contribs) 05:24, 11 July 2011 (UTC)- Well, I guess when I've worked hard on an article to improve it and have nominated it, I feel like it's my responsibility to carry it through to the end and do it myself, instead of letting someone else do it. The reason I asked just you was because some comments were made and I didn't get the relativity of them, and it's harder answering to two people all the time. Yes I will have a look at it now. Calvin • 999 10:38, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- Have gone through and put a
strikethrough all points which have been addressed. Any points which have either been half addressed or not addressed are in bold. Calvin • 999 11:28, 11 July 2011 (UTC)- I think I have addressed everything now, including the awards table. And by the way, the "on hold" period for a GA review does not need to be 7 days, but a reasonable length of time for changes to be carried out, so long as involved editors are actively working on it. (In one extreme case, I kept a GA review on hold for over 50 days! :O). Thanks for the review, I know it's a long article and I appreciate it. I am especially thankful for the thoroughness of your review, considering I am hoping to one day take the article to FAC. Adabow (talk · contribs) 04:41, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- Only just saw this one, that's okay :). I hadn't reviewed an article that long before and felt bad that you had waited so long, I thought 3 weeks for one of mine was a long time. I like to give a detailed review because it is what I would expect of a reviewer reviewing my nominations, plus I kinda guessed you would want to make it FA. Calvin • 999 00:32, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Also, I have addressed all the points in the "Flaws and All" GA review. I can't find the video with Ellen discussing the song; can you gimme a link? Anyway, not containing this one source does not jeopardise the GA status per the criteria. Adabow (talk · contribs) 04:53, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- Okay. Yeah I know, but it would have been good if it could have been expanded a bit more as to why she sang a song which she had never performed live on TV before from B'Day during the IASF era. Calvin • 999 10:38, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. The problem with the template was that you coded it so that the code was visible. Instead just copy and paste the template it. Also you forgot to list the article at WP:GA/A (I did it for you). Thanks again for the review; it was most helpful. Adabow (talk · contribs) 23:27, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
- I did copy and paste the template, that's why I don't get why it didn't work? And I thought a Bot would add the song to the GA/A page. Can you write the template here so I know for the future? I added the GA symbol to the article page as well. Calvin • 999 00:23, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
- {{GA|~~~~~|page=|oldid=}}. A bot adds {{Good article}} (the icon), but you must manually list the article at WP:GA because the bot doesn't know which section to put it under. —Adabow (talk · contribs) 01:32, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Love the Way You Lie (Part II)
After reviewing this article, I have decided to place this article on hold for good article status. I will give you the general seven days to fix the mistakes and/or debate the ones you believe do not affect GA status. For comments see: Talk:Love the Way You Lie (Part II)/GA1. - Rp0211 (talk2me) 05:30, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

kindly refrain from abusing my own talk page
It would also be considered wise, not to insist on posting newbie vandalism boilerplates on the talk page of an administrator. I consider that quite uncivil. Also: it is considered bad form to revert a good faith change if it can be fixed -- this is throwing out the baby with the bathwater. See policy on WP:REVERT. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 23:16, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- So you think you are above being warned?? Calvin • 999 23:18, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I was not implying that at all; I consider it good form not to use a vandalism template for good faith edits, especially for a content dispute, i.e. use common sense. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 23:22, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- So you don't think you are above being warned, but you don't want a warning on you talk page. That's quite hypocritical. Calvin • 999 23:24, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- This is getting silly. I get notices all the time from people I have disagreements with. I am aware of policy, though Wikipedia is a work in progress and there will be disagreements sometimes over interpretations. Happy editing. Cheers, Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 23:26, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I kept your contribution, but I have completely copy-edited it. I removed the Skylar Grey info box, isn't needed. Removed two case of WP:OR, one had no source at all and the other didn't match to what was written given in the source. I formatted some incorrect references, switch the paragraphs around, corrected grammatical errors and MoS, and re-worded a lot of it to make more sense to read. It's fine as it is now. If you have any questions about what I have changed, even though I haven't really changed it, discuss it here first before making edits to the article, which I worked hard on to make a GA. Calvin • 999 00:02, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- How is your requirement supported by policy? That is certainly against WP:OWN. I do get your concern about stability, but WP:BOLD edits are encouraged even on featured articles. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 00:12, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- Because I worked hard on it and I care about the article and what is changed on it. What I just did makes a lot more sense to read and flows a lot better. Calvin • 999 00:14, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

If you have any questions about what I have changed, even though I haven't really changed it, discuss it here first before making edits to the article, which I worked hard on to make a GA. - This is getting silly. I get notices all the time from people I have disagreements with. I am aware of policy, though Wikipedia is a work in progress and there will be disagreements sometimes over interpretations. Happy editing. - So you don't think you are above being warned, but you don't want a warning on you talk page. That's quite hypocritical. Calvin • 999 23:24, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- I was not implying that at all; I consider it good form not to use a vandalism template for good faith edits, especially for a content dispute, i.e. use common sense. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 23:22, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
It's time for deep breaths, Calvin. On the issue of templates, you need to understand that placing a stock template on an admin's page is acceptable, but it does send an extra message, basically "you're such a clueless admin that the best way to communicate with you is the same way I would deal with a brand-new editor". If you want to send that message, that's fine, but you should be aware that you are sending it.
As for the "it's a GA and I worked hard on it" argument, it's good that you are proud of your work. It's not good that you think other people need your permission to change it. They don't. They never will. They aren't obligated to ask your approval. Sucks, but that's what you signed up for when you edited a wiki.—Kww(talk) 00:45, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't know he was an admin. And I'm not saying no one is allowed to make edits to the article, but when you make such frequents edits and large editions to a GA article, it would be useful to use the talk page, that is what it is for after all, right? Especially when I had to completely cop edit what he wrote because it wasn't cohesive Calvin • 999 01:12, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- I don't edit pop culture articles often, although this intersects my interest. Anyhow, don't think I don't appreciate your work, Calvin (thanks for the copyedit); I posted the talk as a matter of courtesy since I was not even aware there was going to be a dispute. It does strike me as rather odd that such major pieces of information escaped notice at GA review. Anyhow, while you are obviously a skilled and hardworking editor, try not to own articles. Thanks. After all, my friends and I like the song too. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 04:22, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- You said yourself you was in a rush, and that reflected in the prose. Nearly everything you said, apart from two cases of WP:OR, is still there, it's just been re-worded so it makes more sense to read and is in more of a logical order. I don't get what the problem is now? And I never said I "own" the article, but wouldn't you agree that if you wanted to add just a large amount of info to a GA article, that you should discuss it on the article talk page first? That is what the talk page is for, to talk. That would have avoided all of this. Calvin • 999 12:58, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- There is no problem -- I am just reminding you of policy. :) The edits were not perfect; the talk page was there to help people fix them and integrate them more smoothly; my prose wasn't that horribly bad, and besides good articles do not degenerate that quickly. Generally my experience is that if you post on a talk page without any editing, change will be slow in coming. This is why Wikipedia adopted the WP:BOLD model, instead of the Nupedia model. elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 15:25, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
- It wouldn't of though, as you clearly found out for yourself that I am patrolling the article! Calvin • 999 15:52, 18 July 2011 (UTC)
