it has been submited for a long time and I think it is ready to be a wikipidia page YisroelB1 (talk) 09:31, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@YisroelB1 uh... did you see the very large banner on top of the draft? I've declined it as it is a (misspelled) duplicate of Draft:Jewish Educational Media. In addition, is YisroelB501 (talk · contribs) another account of yours? User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 09:33, 6 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Declining my article in a previous edit, but now still waiting for review

edit

Hello! Earlier today (or yesterday depending where you live) My Article was declined in a old edit. But right now, it says waiting for review again. It also said you were the one to decline but I guess undecline. My question is is it declined or not? And if it is, what can I do to make the article better? Draft is: Draft:Hurricane Isaac (2024) JAFactsDude (talk) 02:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@JAFactsDude yesterday (I live in the middle of nowhere) I declined the draft by mistake, and I reverted my edit. So the answer to your question would be no. The draft is currently submitted and awaiting review. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 02:39, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

translation request

edit

hello, i found your name in Wikipedia:Translators available and i would like to request to translate the church's name in Pe̍h-ōe-jī#History, i added its chinese characters sometime ago taken from the file itself, but i don't speak chinese, would like your help, thanks. 152.32.99.39 (talk) 08:00, 8 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I took a look, and it appears that the 東門 in its name refers to the road where the church is located (東門路), and the district the road is in (東區). I don't speak Hokkien though, so you might wanna double-check at zh:Wikipedia talk:Chinese Wikipedia Guestbook for non-Chinese speakers just to be sure. HTH. Better source request for File:Last Call BBS.jpg

edit

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 00:29, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit

Please review and tell me about the errors and Fix the problems so that I would understand my errors and will keep in mind next time. Regards,Ved Sharma Kharavela Deva (talk) 09:02, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kharavela Deva the main problem is that your draft has no inline citations, and all references are instead cluttered at the bottom. I can't fix this directly, as I don't know which statements each source supports. Please see H:REFB if you need help. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 10:30, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CanonNi Thanks for telling about my errors. I have fixed the reference error by own and now I will try to adjust footnotes, Please review my page again and If you see any error again, kindly make me notice. Regards, Ved Sharma Kharavela Deva (talk) 13:58, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
The references are still not quite right. All <ref> tags should be immediately after the statement(s) they support, not at the bottom. I've moved a reference as an example. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 01:55, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Can a museum's website be a reliable source?

edit

Hi CanonNi, I've just noticed a review you did recently where you rejected an article in part because A museum's website is not a reliable source. Are you sure about that one, or is it that some specific museum's are not considered reliable? ϢereSpielChequers 11:46, 18 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

@WereSpielChequers sorry for the late reply. What I meant was that particular site, Okhra, seemed to be more of a tourist attraction, rather than a proper art museum. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 01:08, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
No problem, I don't dispute that some museums are more credible than others, and that some museum claims are either out of date, overly nationalistic or just patriochal about their community's achievements. Just good to give that detail when communicating with article writers. ϢereSpielChequers 10:54, 31 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Noted, thanks. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 00:58, 1 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Declined my sources

edit

Hey I noticed you said some of my sources such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube for example are not reliable. but when compared to other biographies such as Jackson Hinkle the source for his birthday is his own twitter https://x.com/jacksonhinklle/status/1835270134036090986 / this is a pretty big double standard especially when TikTok twitter and Instagram are actual sources you can't just say they're not just cause its social media. I don't know how twitter and TikTok are at different levels of quality when it's both someone saying the same thing but in different media formats. I did review the notability requirements for people and i will definitely add some more sources showing why he's notable for now I'll give you some examples here. Eddie was in a jubilee video with 1.3 million views, a debate with well-known twitch streamer vaush 241k views and a debate with another well-known streamer Destiny (streamer)426k views Gingercom1 (talk) 04:32, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Gingercom1 social media may, if there are no better sources, be used to verify basic information. They do not establish notablility. User:CanonNi (talk • contribs) 04:41, 10 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
