This newsletter was automatically delivered by TinucherianBot (talk) 05:14, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Big thanks

For this. SpencerT♦C 02:43, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

No problem, we thought it would be a nice show of good faith towards the en.wikipedians. :-) Cbrown1023 talk 21:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Gadget

Hi Cbrown1023, I have reverted your gadget addition because it had not been discussed on Wikipedia:Gadget/proposals per Wikipedia:Gadget. Cacycle (talk) 06:28, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

...and now it seems to be back. Cbrown1023 talk 21:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

NYC Meetup: You are invited!

New York City Meetup

Next: Sunday November 16th, Columbia University area
Last: 6/01/2008
This box: view  talk  edit

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, finalize and approve bylaws, interact with representatives from the Software Freedom Law Center, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the June meeting's minutes and the September meeting's minutes).

We'll also review our recent Wikis Take Manhattan event, and make preparations for our exciting successor Wikipedia Loves Art! bonanza, being planned with the Brooklyn Museum for February.

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

Newsletter time

Hi Cbrown: Can you please send out November's WP:BIRD newsletter? As always, I appreciate your help! : ) MeegsC | Talk 13:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I will try to get the newsletter out soon, but I'm very busy with the Fundraiser. :-( Cbrown1023 talk 21:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Never mind; I've asked Tinuchurian to do it for us! Thanks anyway. MeegsC | Talk 10:44, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Hey, hope you have a happy Halloween! The WP:FILM's newsletter is now ready for release if you're willing. Thanks again. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 19:53, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
I delivered the newsletter. No worries since AWB makes it go really fast especially with only 130 members! Hope you're doing well. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 09:19, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry you had to do it, Nehrams! I'm thankful that you did, though. :-) Cbrown1023 talk 21:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Activate the Brownbot!

Please send Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite/November 2008 to the names on Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list. Thanks!--Pharos (talk) 05:54, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

If you're not too busy, could you also distribute the college football newsletter? Hard to believe that we've been doing this for a full year now. JKBrooks85 (talk) 02:18, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Milhist newsletter (Oct edition)

Hi!

Could you send out please the Military history newsletter (Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Outreach/Newsletter October 2008) to the different lists at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Outreach and the Active members list? Many thanks in advance, --ROGER DAVIES talk 21:23, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

I will try to get the newsletters out soon, but I'm very busy with the Fundraiser. :-( Cbrown1023 talk 21:47, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi, I appreciate how busy you are but is there any prospect of this going out in the next day or two? Or should we try to make other arrangements? --ROGER DAVIES talk 18:53, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, I actually have sometime tonight — I should be able to get it out soon. Cbrown1023 talk 22:17, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Sending out now. Cbrown1023 talk 23:24, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
Thank you very much indeed. Will you be okay, do you think, to handle the December and January runs as usual or would it be easier for you if we organized another bot? I really do appreciate you making time for us. Thanks again:) --ROGER DAVIES talk 19:25, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
I should be able to, the main and busiest times are in getting everything started -- ie. the beginning of the fundraiser. :-) Cbrown1023 talk 22:04, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Bless! Thanks again for your invaluable support, --ROGER DAVIES talk 07:13, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Happy birthday!

AGK wishes you a Happy Birthday!

Belated birthday wishes, dear Casey! All the best, AGK 20:39, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

List of list distribution bots

Given the common theme of the messages on this page, is there a list somewhere of editors who operate mailing-list distribution bots, so that people know whom they can talk to and everyone gets a chance? Regards. (P.S.: Don't rush to answer; I know you're busy with the fundraiser. :P) Newyorkbrad (talk) 12:36, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

You know I waited for every just because of that postscript... ;-) I don't think there's a list, no. Cbrown1023 talk 21:20, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, start one. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 21:28, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia Administrator IRC

Hello, Casey. I am one of the wikipedia admin, may I be invited to join the channel? Ktsquare (talk) 18:08, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Have you been invited yet? If not, catch me on IRC (kibble). Cbrown1023 talk 21:20, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons OTRS

Hey, sorry to bother you here, but since you're an administrator on Commons, I was wondering if you could check the status on the permissions I forwarded to OTRS for the ~50 images I uploaded this weekend. I know it's likely that some people may not want to work on the permissions since there are so many images to work on, but I just want to verify if OTRS is currently backlogged or if my e-mails got deleted (I sent them all over the weekend, and usually the permissions are done within one or two). You definitely don't have to work on the permissions, but if you could just check their status, I'd appreciate it. I really don't want the images to be deleted, and I think that it is possible some editors may want to since some of the images are really high quality versions of actors/actresses. Anyway, get back to me whenever, and thanks in advance. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 06:00, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, permissions is a little backlogged (~494 tickets open). I found your tickets (2008111710001913, 2008111710002234, 2008111710002912, 2008111710002967), I'll try to work on them if I have time later this evening (which I should, but you know how things can get ;-)).
