2012 Giro di Lombardia

Hello! I just wrote it, feel free to add some if you want. Is there a template to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit? That was a great race by the way! I hope you're doing good. :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 07:45, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. Yep, it was pretty hectic, including the constant image problems they had because of the weather. It was the last televised race of the year here :( I just thought, the off-season is gonna be a great time to expand the riders' articles and kind of "catch up", I sure will do that once in a while. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 06:04, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Hey, I was wondering if you'd accept a friend invite from me on Facebook. I share cycling stuff and political stuff. That would be great to have a place to chat, even though I'm not there often. Your call! :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 23:29, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
Done! My profile pic is me with a mountain bike, just so you know it's me. Looking forward to talk a bit over there! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 14:51, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Pro12 Table

I am thinking of creating a template for the 2012/13 Pro12 Table, akin to "2012–13 English Premiership Table (rugby union)". This will allow me to include it in each of the participating teams' pages. I know you do a lot of work on Pro12, so I wanted to run this past you first. Do you see any problems with this idea? Hamish59 (talk) 12:38, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Apologies. I have just had a closer look, and realised that is is already a template. D'oh! Hamish59 (talk) 12:43, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi Cs-wolves, I see you're helping improving the article of Ellen van Dijk. Thank you for that! However, I changed your last edit (writing van Dijk <-> Van Dijk). Reverted change

Why have you just reverted my change at 2012–13 European Challenge Cup pool stage? What was wrong with what I did? Hamish59 (talk) 20:59, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

OK, understood. Hamish59 (talk) 21:18, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Date order change?

Why the change of date format on 2013 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships? Isn't Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers#Retaining the existing format valid? — WardMuylaert (talk) 23:54, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Ok, I can follow that reasoning. Cheers. — WardMuylaert (talk) 10:29, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Concern following your recent Greg LeMond edits

Hi - I just noticed your recent edits of Greg LeMond, and appreciate your correcting the team affiliations especially. He signed for PDM in late 1987, right (after being contracted to La vie claire through 87, right)? Wondering though if you can help me find a source to include in the article to support it, as I myself was responsible for the error in dates, plus I didn't include material about his racing for Coors Light in the USA and their picking up some of his salary b/c I couldn't remember the details let alone source it. It would be good to have access to actual press to look to in refining the career summary, where this info was/is incorrect still. Thanks.joepaT 18:05, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Happy New Year!

I left you a message on Facebook about the rider transfers. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 17:05, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

Ah OK! What I said:

Happy New Year a bit late! I didn't even drink one drop lol, pretty relax. I started updating Vini Fantini-Selle Italia riders, including the template. I move slowly since while I'm at it, I clean the palmares up, delete dead external links, etc. I also only change the articles of the guys coming IN the team, since we'll encounter the riders leaving as we go updating new teams. Cool?

12:03pm Mathieu Giroux I've done Vini and vacansoleil riders and templates. I'll continue later on, starting in reverse alpha order. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 19:05, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

OK, I'm starting the UnitedHealthcare template and riders article at the moment, but I'll leave the rosters on the team pages to you if you don't mind (well, all of them) I am not patient/attentive enough for those, I'm sure I'll screw something up. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 19:23, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
I did UHC and Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator riders (it went swiftly, except writing John Murphy's palmares, but it's fun) I was wondering what to do with this template: Template:SpiderTech-C10 riders. Moving on to Sojasun! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 20:28, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
I don't know what AFD means lol. Leaving that to you. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 20:39, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Leaving it to you anyway! :) I'm now at SKY, and I see you have done the template. I did the templates from that point and I am quite positive they are OK (according to the transfer page) since I tripled checked them. I don't know about the managers though... I'll update the SKY individual riders' articles. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 21:57, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
I finished SKY's riders' articles, along with updating some palmares and all. I'll take a break (brain boiling) I will continue continue maybe tonight or certainly tomorrow. It's great to not only change the teams, but consult the 3 sources for the palmares that are reliable in my view (French Wiki, cyclingarchives and Cycling Base) I guess the next step would be to create an article for anybody in the World Tour, especially if they are young. (But no hurry) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 23:06, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
Just finished Saxo-Bank! You modified Kreuziger already. Anyway, it's going very swift. :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:14, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Well I'm in no rush, as I said it's a great time to update palmareses and take trash out. How come you can't access Facebook? 02:20, 2 January 2013 (UTC) BTW, there is no template for Rusvelo? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:23, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Geez you are already at RadioShack? Does that mean the individual articles from the point are all covered? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:28, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
OK, some IP covered it. I'm on fire, but I take my time, not wanting to make a mistake. Do you see a meteor?? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:43, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Orica-GreenEDGE riders done. Where are you at? Starting tomorrow, maybe. It's cool! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 03:26, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
OK, just leave me the individual articles, as I said, I'll check the palmares and add good results and delete crap. Maybe tomorrow. Not long after that! :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 03:30, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

Thanks

I was just a touch miffed about the equaliser after we had played so well, and to make matters worse, my hometown side Truro City, who were 3–1 up at Welling, conceded a last minute goal to lose 4–3. So it was a bad minute. But commiserations due also to you, after today's Luton bother, and you're minus a manager as well! Or is that good news...? Never a dull moment... ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:29, 6 January 2013 (UTC)

I thought Solbakken was an odd choice, it just seemed destined to be a failure from the start. But Dean Saunders? I just can't see it working. I quite like him as a person, but he's never really done anything at that level, and did Doncaster no favours. They're doing OK now, but I think League One is quite weak this season. Saunders should probably have got Wrexham promoted, but never managed to do it... O'Driscoll must be a better bet, and his treatment at Forest was a travesty. Forest are becoming a bit of a joke, I think. Curbishley's name pops up quite often, but when is he going to take a job? He must be very rusty by now. I don't think your lot will go down, but I'd be a bit worried about Saunders :/ Bretonbanquet (talk) 14:18, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Ha! No, that's exactly what usually happens... We've slipped down a bit because of postponed games etc, but we are unusually far from the relegation zone. There are some pretty poor sides in our division this season. The more I hear about Saunders, the more likely they're saying it is that he'll be your new man. Something odd about it! Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:51, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
Hartlepool are incredibly bad for some reason, except (amazingly) the day they won at Sheffield United. Well, it looks inevitable then... I wish you chaps the very best of luck!! Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:13, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
A point is a point! That may be the point that seals a place in the play-offs ;) Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:59, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Newsletter

Hi Craig. I'm sorry to say that, due to no longer having sufficient time, I must relinquish my newsletter duties. I completely forgot about the latest issue, which I've just realised is several days overdue, but I'm afraid I simply don't have as much time as before to dedicate to it. Hopefully there will be someone else in WP:F1 who will be interested, but please don't feel responsible for continuing it by yourself if you don't want to! Many apologies,—Midgrid(talk) 21:28, 8 January 2013 (UTC)

Well, that's understandable as well. I'll send send out the latest issue today and then post at Talk:WPF1 to see if anyone is interested in taking it over. Thanks for helping out with the newsletter over the years - I'd forgotten how long it's been running!—Midgrid(talk) 14:42, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

A pint for you!

You do sterling work posting race results: please know that it is appreciated. But if I knew you well enough as a pal to buy you a pint, I'd suggest don't be a dick if someone notices something current through a watchlist without trawling though the whole article. But I'd want to do it trusting it doesn't undermine recognition of great work. Kevin McE (talk) 16:29, 20 January 2013 (UTC)
Yep: not long now and Mrs McE will be getting used to seeing the top of my headphone clad bonce over the top of my laptop as I try to pick up something among the gutteral grumblings that constitutes Sporta.be commentary. The three month "talking to my better half season" is almost at an end. (and it looks like gnat's water lager anyway, so should scarcely challenge your balance on a wagon.) Vandalism? What are you talking about? I cancelled the second surname "Correia" since it's not required, Brasilian people have two surnames like Spanish people. I think the other surname is used only in official documents, but you can't talk about vandalism in this situation.LegendK (talk) 23:33, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Caja Rural

Very helpful edits on the article and I learned from you how to do repeated references too, thank you. I will leave it to you to change the grammatical tense back on Friday :-) [We and their other 2 English speaking fans will probably be the only ones ever to notice.] What was the thinking behind eliminating the Caja Rural–Orbea and Kaiku links? I had included them originally so that ancillary information on those teams could be included in Wikipedia without cluttering the main Caja Rural article. My rationale for including these prior names at all, by the way, is that (i) from speaking to those who follow Spanish and Basque Country cycling and from the tone of some of the relevant articles I have read, it seems clear that Caja Rural is not generally considered to be a 2010 start-up, and (ii) readers doing additional searching will find references such as "Kaiku-Caja Rural" in news prior to 2010 and even rider's team affiliations referring simply to "Caja Rural" in the 1980s (e.g. Marino Lejarreta). Transonic Crayon (talk) 13:40, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Basically, what it was to do was to remove links from the team names; just uniform across all teams' team name iterations over the years. The links can remain in the body of the text, but usually avoid them in the infoboxes. That's all. Craig(talk) 19:16, 20 February 2013 (UTC)
OK, I understand the rationale now, thanks. Transonic Crayon (talk) 19:47, 20 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Giro del Lazio, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Andrea Tafi (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

UCI World Tour race articles

Hey Cs,

I have a comment and a question relating to your work on the UCI World Tour articles. Well for one, you have done an impeccable with writing the stage summaries and my question concerns the articles that you have worked on: are you planning on submitting each article for GA? Cause they're certainly GA level and worthy. Disc Wheel (Malk + Montributions) 20:27, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Haha that's very true. I'm just saying your work with all the race articles in general is definite GA work and they should pass easy. But I feel ya, I remember I did the stage write ups for one of the Tour's maybe 09 or 10 and I just got sick of it after nine or ten stages so I give you props for charging through it my man. Disc Wheel (Malk + Montributions) 02:26, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

Okay I see you on the GA noms now. They take forever to get reviewed from my experience. I've got five up at the moment and once they go through I'm gonna try and nominate the Giro page itself once I've made some other refinements. But wow yeah so I guess you're reading the cycling news articles to catch up then and again you're doin' work on the pages. Much respect. Disc Wheel (Malk + Montributions) 03:23, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Yeah I know the videos you're talking about, yeah it isn't the same though. My computer has trouble loading most of the cycling videos that I try to watch on youtube so I've given up on trying to watch the races that NBC Sports doesn't show - provided that I'm not busy and can watch them. Disc Wheel (Malk + Montributions) 20:41, 15 March 2013 (UTC)

To be honest dude I haven't seen much outside of the Tour since the switch from Versus to NBC. But I know that they have the annoying commentators for life of me I cant think of the other guy one is Liam McHugh... and the other guy that helps with the rebroadcast - not Bobke. Sherwen and Liggett for sure do the Tour but they occasionally do the other races like the TDU and TDC I think. I haven't been watching much lately as you can tell. Disc Wheel (Malk + Montributions) 01:22, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Pro 12 Round by Round

As per 2012 Six Nations Championship and 2013 Six Nations Championship, one of the reasons the round by rounf standings was disagreed with was because of the small amount of matches played, and I agree with that. The pro 12 has alot more mathes (22 to be exact) and each week dose have sigifigant changes in the standings. This is why the round by round table should be aloud. Based on your point of you saying it is a waste of space. Well on that, alot of items across Wikipedia is a waste of space, why single out this article??
